Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Indifferent Family Bonds

The film crew doesn’t shoot the scenes according to the timeline of the script, but rather creates a shoot sequence chart based on the script’s scene numbers, and then, using that as a foundation, creates a shot breakdown chart by type of scene, which is then used to organize the filming schedule taking into account the availability of actors and the geographic relationship between locations.

On Tang Li’s first day with the crew, the scene being filmed was her arrest.

In this scene, there were her, Guan Xiao, Mr. Ying, and a few actors playing criminal police officers.

Tang Li’s make-up took nearly an hour.

"OK, open your eyes!" the make-up artist sighed in relief.

Tang Li slowly opened her eyes and saw her reflection in the mirror, with blood traces from her left forehead spreading to her jawline, delicately made-up facial features, medium-length hair done with a curling iron slightly voluminous, and her body clad in a chiffon white shirt and white base T-shirt, giving her an added sense of fierce beauty.

Wu Xuehan, holding both of their bags, stood on the side, unable to restrain her admiration: "Ah Li, your skin is so good, there’s no need for post-editing retouching at all."

The make-up artist also smiled: "The skin is indeed good, you must be from Sichuan-Chongqing, famous for beautiful women."

"Not really, I was born in Diannan." Tang Li revealed a faint smile on her lips.

Inside the villa, the crew was making preparations for the shoot.

When Tang Li appeared in the living room, she successfully drew many eyes to her, even Director Fan, who was discussing the scene with Guan Xiao, gave her a look.

Director Fan sized up her make-up and was generally satisfied. He called over an assistant director to teach her how to move and position herself; Tang Li, in her previous life, had some understanding of this, but she still listened carefully to the guidance.

Before the shoot began, Tang Li did her scene rehearsal with the middle-aged male actor playing Mr. Ying.

The other actor, a veteran in the industry, didn’t look down on her for being a newcomer and even helped explain a few difficult parts to perform.

At 11:30 in the morning, the director was ready for the camera movement shot.

The first floor of the villa began to clear out.

The make-up artist quickly touched up the actors’ make-up.

For a moment, the spacious living room was left with only Tang Li and the actor playing Mr. Ying.

All the crew members stepped back to positions away from the camera, and shortly after, with the clap of the slate, Tang Li’s mind flashed with memories from her past life at the Lai Family, with Lai Wenyan’s indifference and Ouyang Qian’s hypocrisy, all of which made her deeply understand what cold-blooded family ties were like.

When the director called out "action," Tang Li opened her eyes, looking toward Mr. Ying lying on the ground, clutching his bleeding thigh, and felt no nervousness at all.

The living room, with its heavy curtains drawn, was dark and terrifying.

A few strands of sunlight barely penetrated, illuminating the dust floating in the air.

The slender girl in a white shirt and jeans stepped silently on the floor in her cotton slippers, seemingly a harbinger of death, with a blood-stained shirt hem, her side face swept by light showing solidified traces of blood, sleeves rolled up, her right hand clutching a fruit knife dripping with blood.

Mr. Ying, seeing his daughter approach, turned ghostly pale, mumbled with trembling lips, ignoring the pain in his thigh, and shouted at his rebellious daughter: "I am your biological father, what are you going to do to me?"

The girl stood in front of him, corners of her mouth upturned, looking at him as if he were already dead: "Since dad is so fond of stepmother and sister, I’ll see you off now."

"You fiend! You animal!" Mr. Ying cursed loudly: "You and your mother will not die a good death!"

Ying Xuaner slowly crouched down, reveling in the sight of her father’s distress and fear: "Even if I don’t die a good death, three-to-one, I’m not at a loss."

Before she finished speaking, the villa’s front door was knocked open.

Ying Xuaner turned around.

"Police!" What entered in succession were several criminal police officers holding guns.
