Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Playing Tricks
Jiang Kechu, maintaining his composure, also smiled back and responded to his greeting, then said, "Thank you, Mr. Yan, for taking care of Chuchu."
Yan Hui replied calmly, "Don’t mention it, Chuchu is a nice girl, I didn’t do much."
Jiang Kechu smiled, reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind Wan Chu’er’s ear that was beside her, then said affectionately, "Are you ready? Let’s go over a bit earlier."
Wan Chu’er was startled, a bit unused to Jiang Kechu being so affectionate in front of so many people. Usually, she was the proactive one. What was up today? Was he perhaps influenced by something?
She’ll interrogate him properly later, Wan Chu’er thought to herself, and then brightly said with a smile, "Alright, I’ll just go grab my bag, and then we can leave."
She then stood up and went upstairs, leaving a few men in the living room downstairs.
Yan Hui also stood up, politely saying, "Grandpa Zhong, I’ll be leaving now. Mr. Jiang, please excuse me." He then left as if nothing had happened.
Jiang Kechu thoughtfully watched Yan Hui’s departing figure, turning his head to look at Old Sir Zhong, only to see a suspicious smile at the corner of the old man’s mouth, his eyes seriously perusing the newspaper.
Almost instantly, Jiang Kechu was certain that Old Sir Zhong was involved in this, he listened for a while, there was no sound of Wan Chu’er coming down from upstairs.
So, he straightened up, leaning slightly towards Old Sir Zhong, with a hint of appeasement, he said:
"Grandpa Zhong, I really like Chuchu, and she loves me deeply too."
He said these cheesy words without blushing or skipping a beat, as if discussing a serious topic.
Old Sir Zhong glanced at him, and uttered a faint "Hmm."
Jiang Kechu thought for a moment, then spoke more directly, "Grandpa Zhong, if you want to test me, let’s find another way, please don’t have Mr. Yan always hanging around Chuchu."
Yan Hui and Chuchu lived in the same community, even next-door neighbors, always ready to pop in, seeing Chuchu all the time, just thinking about it was painful.
Old Sir Zhong put down the newspaper and said, "What are you so insecure about, you sound like a woman, always fretting."
Jiang Kechu: "..."
Soon, Wan Chu’er came downstairs. She had changed her clothes, looking quite lovely, which brought a smile to Jiang Kechu’s eyes.
"Alright, let’s go. Grandpa, I won’t be back for lunch, you and Brother Lishan enjoy your meal."
Old Sir Zhong waved his hand, letting her go.
On the road, Jiang Kechu held the steering wheel with one hand, and the gear shift with the other, tapping his fingers rhythmically.
Wan Chu’er looked down and noticed, then asked with a smile, "Uncle Jiang, what mischief are you plotting?"
Jiang Kechu paused for a moment, then quickly smiled, saying, "How can you tell I’m plotting mischief?"
In fact, he indeed was plotting mischief.
The way Yan Hui looked at Wan Chu’er had made him uncomfortable, and Old Sir Zhong’s ambiguous intentions had him thinking if perhaps they were too idle, needing something to occupy them, like telling Wan Chu’er that the villa she now lived in was actually Yan Hui’s, a deliberate deception by Xiao Bai, Old Sir Zhong, and Yan Hui.
Wan Chu’er said triumphantly, "Anyway, I just know, but I won’t tell you. You better confess, what were you thinking just now?"
In fact, Chuchu was aware of many of Jiang Kechu’s small actions, and she found it amusing that he was unaware of her awareness.
A wily gleam flickered through Jiang Kechu’s eyes as he said, "I just want to know what you and Yan Hui were talking about just now; you both seemed really happy."
Chuchu’s attention was immediately diverted, and she said excitedly, "Oh, I was persuading Yan Hui to venture into the internet industry."
"Oh? Do you have high hopes for the internet?" Jiang Kechu asked casually, enjoying seeing Chuchu excited.
"Yes, let me tell you, if you want to become wealthy, the internet is the way to go. Of course, you have to choose the right product, otherwise even the internet bubble can drown people."
Teasing her, Jiang Kechu replied, "If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be better for you to quietly make a fortune instead of advising others to get rich?"
Chuchu huffed, "I’m not shouting it from the rooftops; I only talk about this with close people. Yan Hui has taken good care of me and Xiao Bai, and I don’t know how else to repay him, so I just offer him some advice."
Jiang Kechu immediately said, "I’ve got several million at hand. Feel free to use them however you like. If that’s not enough, just sell my house," he said generously.
Chuchu eyed him suspiciously and teasingly said, "Why are you suddenly so compliant today, knowing now to hand over your hidden money?"
"Haha..." Jiang Kechu couldn’t help but laugh, and he handed her his wallet from his pocket. "From now on, I’ll turn over all my wealth to you. Just give me a little pocket money each month. I won’t save any secret funds."
Chuchu snorted humorously, and placed the wallet right back in the car, proudly saying, "I’m wealthy now, so don’t think of buying me with money and then delude yourself into thinking I’ll just listen to you."
Jiang Kechu reached out and playfully ruffled her hair.
As the car was about to arrive at the Jiang Family’s place, Jiang Kechu inevitably resorted to his last trick.
He seemed to say casually, "Brother Lishan gave you a car, Yan Hui gave both money and a house, yet I, your boyfriend, haven’t given anything, which doesn’t feel right to me. What do you think I should give?"
Chuchu burst out laughing and blurted out, "Just give yourself to me."
"You little girl!" Jiang Kechu said indulgently.
Wait a minute...
Chuchu realized something; what did he mean Yan Hui gave both money and a house? Yan Hui only gave her a bank card, where did the house come from?
"Uncle Jiang, what do you mean by saying Yan Hui gave both money and a house just now?" Chuchu stared at Jiang Kechu and asked.
Jiang Kechu raised an eyebrow, "The villa you’re living in now belongs to Yan Hui. I heard Mr. Yan was very generous and bought two villas at once—one for himself and one for you guys."
What?
Chuchu looked incredulous. She did not think Jiang Kechu was joking, and already believed him halfway, but to be sure, she calmed herself down and asked again:
"How do you know the villa I’m living in was given by Yan Hui?"
Without hesitation, Jiang Kechu spilled the beans, "Xiao Bai told me."
The next second, Chuchu took out her phone and called Xiao Bai.
"Bai Qiyan, is the villa we’re living in now from Yan Hui?"
Xiao Bai on the other end was a bit stunned; things seemed amiss from Chuchu’s tone—how did the truth come out?
His brain raced, wondering whether to admit this or whom to shift the blame to.
