Chapter 275: Chapter 275: A Difficult Matter

The next day, after having breakfast, Wan Chu’er got ready to go to school. As she was leaving, she said to Li Shan, "Brother Lishan, please walk me to school."

Li Shan glanced at the old master who waved his hand, indicating he had nothing important to take care of and that Li Shan could escort Wan Chu’er.

On the way to school, Wan Chu’er asked, "Brother Lishan, after I left that day, did Shen Qian give you any trouble?"

Shen Qian was visibly furious that day, obviously not the type to let things slide easily. It was clear she wanted to give Wan Chu’er a good beating, but Wan Chu’er ran away before Shen Qian got the chance. Shen Qian must have taken her frustration out on Li Shan.

Li Shan paused for a moment, seemingly reluctant to elaborate, and just answered indifferently, "It’s fine, she’s no match for me."

Wan Chu’er’s eyes lit up with interest as she asked, "How long did you guys fight for? Did you win? Did Shen Qian challenge you to another fight?"

She had noticed that Shen Qian was also someone with high spirits and was very obsessed with fighting.

Last night, she had asked Jiang Kechu. Initially, Shen Qian challenged Jiang Kechu, unimpressed by his reputation, wanting to fight him. Jiang Kechu had no patience to fight with a woman and sent Shen Qian flying with one move, after which Shen Qian started pestering Jiang Kechu.

Thus, Wan Chu’er figured Shen Qian was purely conquered by Jiang Kechu’s prowess. She mused, with Li Shan not only being big in stature but also skilled, if Shen Qian would end up conquered by him too.

That would make things much easier.

Li Shan wasn’t aware of Wan Chu’er’s thoughts. He frowned slightly, thinking of Shen Qian as a ferocious tigress without any feminine charm—very troublesome.

When they arrived at the school’s back gate, Wan Chu’er patted Li Shan’s shoulder and joked, "Brother Lishan, I actually think Shen Qian is quite interesting. If there’s a chance, give her a few more beatings."

Who knows, maybe fighting can turn into affection.

Li Shan gave her a look of distaste, then stepped on the gas and left.

Wan Chu’er didn’t take it to heart. She slung her backpack over her shoulder and quickly entered the school.

She hadn’t been to school for two days, but the old master had asked Li Shan to request leave from her supervisor, so there were no issues. However, Mai Qiqi grabbed her for a barrage of questions.

"Spill it, where have you been these past two days? Were you with Brother Jiang?"

Wan Chu’er raised an eyebrow and smacked her on the arm, "Stop letting your imagination run wild. Uncle Jiang and I are simply innocents."

Mai Qiqi nearly burst into laughter, thankfully covering her mouth just in time. After all, the teacher had just reached the podium, and their classmates filled the rows around them.

She whispered in a low voice, "Yeah, right."

Wan Chu’er ignored her and started listening to the lecture and taking notes.

After class, she walked through the campus talking and laughing with Mai Qiqi, then received a call from Mrs. Jiang.

"Aunt Jiang, hello."

Mrs. Jiang’s voice came through the phone with laughter, "Am I disturbing your class? Is it convenient to talk?"

"Aunt, it’s fine, I just finished class and am on my way back to the dormitory."

"That’s good then. Come over for dinner this Saturday. Let Aunt know what you want to eat in advance so I can prepare it."

Wan Chu’er thought for a moment, seeming to have no arrangements for this Saturday, and agreed, "Aunt, I’m not picky. Anything is fine for me."

"Okay then, Aunt won’t disturb you anymore. Kechu will come pick you up when it’s time."

"Alright, goodbye."

After hanging up the phone, Wan Chu’er saw Mai Qiqi covering her mouth, laughing. "Wow, it’s rare to see you so obedient and sweet-talking. Calling her auntie and saying you’re not picky, that anything is fine," she mimicked Wan Chu’er’s words.

Wan Chu’er shook her head and ignored her; she was dealing with a young girl, after all.

Mrs. Jiang had always been a person of pure kindness, treating her very well in both her past life and this one. That’s why Wan Chu’er was always more well-behaved around Mrs. Jiang.

When she returned home on Friday afternoon, she rarely saw Xiao Bai sitting in the living room, pouring over a pile of documents seriously.

Xiao Bai had been very busy lately, dedicating all his time to the company. Seeing him at home this early was unusual.

"Second Brother, have you encountered some difficulties?" Wan Chu’er sat down and asked with concern.

Xiao Bai shook his head and sighed, "It’s not about me; it’s about Yan Hui’s company."

"What happened to Mr. Yan? Is there trouble with his company?" Wan Chu’er was very curious, as she always remembered Yan Hui as someone confident and unruffled.

Xiao Bai said, "It’s that Zheng Yun. She went to a rival company, and just two days ago, they released a new product slightly better than Yan Hui’s company’s product, stealing away many clients."

"What?!" Wan Chu’er’s eyes widened.

She thought Zheng Yun would fade away into oblivion, but unexpectedly, she had made such a significant move.

As far as Wan Chu’er knew, the advantage of Yan Hui’s company lay in its products which was also the tool for his quick rise in the industry. Now that a strong competitor had emerged, it would certainly impact Yan Hui.

Xiao Bai ran his fingers through his short hair and said, "Yan Hui has helped our company a lot, and our company is just getting started. If his group runs into trouble, our company will be affected too, so I gathered some materials to see if I can come up with a solution."

Wan Chu’er asked, full of hope, "So, did you come up with anything?"

Xiao Bai shook his head.

That meant there was still no solution.

Wan Chu’er thought for a moment, then picked up the materials and started to examine them carefully.

During dinner, Yan Hui also came over. He was still as graceful and gentle as ever, showing no signs of being affected by the setbacks. Wan Chu’er admired his demeanor but also felt a bit uncomfortable.

After all, the incident of Zheng Yun leaving Yan Hui’s company and joining the competitor was somewhat linked to her.

She couldn’t stay out of this matter.

After dinner, Yan Hui greeted them and was about to leave, with Wan Chu’er quickly following him.

"Mr. Yan, please wait," Wan Chu’er called out to him outside.

With a gentle smile, Yan Hui asked, "What is it?"

"I heard that your competitor HK released a new product that’s similar to your company’s core product, and it’s slightly better, seizing many customers."

Yan Hui’s smile faded slightly, "Did you hear this from Xiao Bai?"

Wan Chu’er didn’t answer; instead she questioned, "We all understand, it must be Zheng Yun who gave your KY Group’s core secrets to HK. Why not sue her for infringement?"

Unhurriedly, Yan Hui replied, "Let’s walk and talk, it’s good to take a walk."

Wan Chu’er: "...You’re really not in a hurry at all, huh?"
