Chapter 225: Moving House 5

Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Moving House 5

After hanging up the phone with Xiao Bai, Wan Chu’er stood in the room and looked around.

This was her first nest in Beijing, completely her own, where she spent the most difficult days after leaving Bai Zhixi.

She didn’t expect to leave so soon and really felt a bit reluctant.

Just as Wan Chu’er was lost in thoughts, feeling wistful, the door was knocked again.

"Miss Wan, hurry up and pack your things," Yao Xian’s voice rang out again.

Wan Chu’er’s sadness immediately disappeared, and she walked to the door in two steps and yanked it open.

"Mr. Yao, I won’t default on my promises; I said I would give you the house, and I will, you don’t need to keep urging me."

Yao Xian chuckled lightly and said, "I won’t be at ease until I get the keys to the house, you know, I have elders and children relying on me..."

Wan Chu’er couldn’t help but glare at him, then expressionlessly closed the door.

She turned around and began searching for luggage and packing bags, starting packing her suitcase quickly and efficiently.

Yao Xian outside wiped the non-existent sweat from his forehead, muttering to himself:

"Fortunately, Miss Wan didn’t get physical, I heard she knows some martial arts too. No matter how difficult the task assigned by the boss, I have to complete it."

It was almost nine o’clock when Xiao Bai arrived.

Seeing Wan Chu’er a bit dusty and disheveled, he couldn’t help but laugh.

As soon as Wan Chu’er saw Xiao Bai laugh, she casually threw a book at him.

Books were the most numerous in the house; Wan Chu’er usually bought them, plus the ones borrowed from school, and she had already packed two cardboard boxes.

Xiao Bai dodged the book, holding a plastic bag in his hand, he smiled and said, "Hurry up and wash up, let’s have breakfast."

His words had just fallen when Wan Chu’er’s stomach rumbled.

She was provoked by Yao Xian earlier, and busy packing, where was the time or mood to eat.

Wan Chu’er then washed her hands and started eating the breakfast Xiao Bai had bought.

While eating, she directed him, "Put the computer in the box."

With something in hand, Xiao Bai remarked, "I remember you have class today."

"I took a leave. If I don’t hurry to pack and move, Yao Xian might just bring his whole family of elders and children to beg for my pity."

Xiao Bai laughed heartily, thinking that only someone as persistent as Yao Xian could handle a girl like her.

By eleven o’clock, Yao Xian had driven a small truck over, and Xiao Bai patted his shoulder, admiringly saying, "Talent!"

Yao Xian chuckled, "Thanks, Mr. Bai, for the praise, let’s move quickly, the sooner we move everything out, the sooner Miss Wan can settle into the villa."

Wan Chu’er giggled, picked up a big suitcase, and walked downstairs.

"Wow, oh my goodness, such a big suitcase, let me do it, don’t wear yourself out, Miss Wan," exclaimed Yao Xian dramatically.

Wan Chu’er ignored him.

Xiao Bai grabbed Yao Xian, saying, "Our Chu’er is strong, you handle these."

Wan Chu’er didn’t have much stuff. Obviously, she didn’t need the furniture and appliances, her belongings were just the computer, books, and clothes, etc.

A small truck was more than enough to fit all her stuff, as well as both Wan Chu’er and Bai Qiyan.

It was a little past one in the afternoon when they finally got all the stuff settled into the villa. Yao Xian, thrilled, took the keys of the old neighborhood from Wan Chu’er and walked off jubilantly.

Wan Chu’er occupied a large bedroom and a study on the second floor, she told Xiao Bai, "Second Brother, why don’t you also move in this afternoon, instead of staying at An Zihao’s place."

"You can choose whether you want the first floor or the second, whatever you prefer."

In her view, staying in someone else’s house always felt a bit uncomfortable.

Xiao Bai casually said, "Okay, I’ll stay on the second floor then."

The first floor is reserved for Old Sir Zhong.

"Let’s go, we should head out to eat. See if there’s anything else you need to buy along the way." Xiao Bai looked around and said to Wan Chu’er.

"Sure." Wan Chu’er had just finished speaking when she remembered something and suddenly exclaimed, "Oh no."

Yesterday, Jiang Kechu said he would come over at noon to help her move, but she forgot to tell him. She quickly picked up her phone and saw there were five missed calls, all from Jiang Kechu.

She hurriedly dialed back.

"Uncle Jiang, I’m sorry, I forgot about you."

As soon as Jiang Kechu picked up the phone, he heard this and couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his eye.

That statement sounded so awkward no matter how he heard it.

Xiao Bai heard Wan Chu’er say this and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Jiang Kechu, that old man, must have a priceless expression right now.

Jiang Kechu has always had sharp hearing, and he immediately heard Xiao Bai’s laughter and asked, "Are you with Xiao Bai?"

Wan Chu’er replied, "Yes, we just moved in, and Second Brother and I were about to go out to eat."

Jiang Kechu said, "I’m almost at the entrance of the complex now. Let Xiao Bai go eat by himself, I’ll take you somewhere nice to eat."

"Sure!" Wan Chu’er happily agreed.

She hung up and hurried Xiao Bai, "Second Brother, you go eat by yourself. I’m going to eat with Jiang Kechu; he’ll be here soon."

Just a second ago, Xiao Bai was laughing at Jiang Kechu, but the next second, he glared angrily at Wan Chu’er.

"Wan Chu’er, you traitor!

I am your dear Second Brother, and you dare ditch me for Jiang Kechu!"

Wan Chu’er was unmoved and just pushed him,

"Second Brother, being a hated third wheel is unethical. Go have your meal, and remember to move in later this afternoon."

Then she turned around and went upstairs to find clothes.

Xiao Bai glared at Wan Chu’er’s retreating figure, snorted, and thought: Since you’re heartless, don’t blame your Second Brother for being unrighteous. I won’t tell you that this house was gifted to you by Old Sir, nor that he will move in tomorrow.

With that thought, Xiao Bai suddenly felt healed from the pain of being abandoned by Wan Chu’er.

After making some quick preparations, Wan Chu’er hurried downstairs.

As soon as she looked, Xiao Bai had already disappeared. She locked the door and headed toward the complex’s entrance.

This complex was very large, and her new villa was located at the very end of the complex. It would take about ten minutes just to walk to the entrance.

But shortly into her walk, Wan Chu’er spotted a familiar face.

Incredulously, she watched as Yan Hui strolled elegantly ahead, blinking her eyes.

"Mr. Yan."

When Yan Hui heard Wan Chu’er’s voice, he turned toward her with a gentle smile.

That smile, like a red plum blooming amid drifting snow, was transcendent and seemed to cool down the hot temperature around.

"Wan Chu’er," Yan Hui called out her name.

It sounded so pleasant.

She sighed inwardly and quickly asked, "Mr. Yan, what are you doing here?"

Yan Hui smiled gently, "I live here."

"Ah?" Wan Chu’er was stunned, then exclaimed joyfully, "Mr. Yan, we’ll be neighbors from now on."

It was great to think she would often hear Yan Hui’s voice from now on.
