Wan Chu’er returned home and tightly closed the door, then slumped to the ground.

She repeatedly thought about what had just happened and her issues with Zheng Yun.

Was the incident her fault, Zheng Yun’s, or just a misunderstanding?

After thinking for a while, she felt that if given another chance, she would still do the same and fiercely get back at Zheng Yun.

Wan Chu’er stood up, entered the bedroom, and took out a photo of Wan Shiguo and Bai Zhixi from under her pillow, caressed it for a while, and softly said:

There was a knocking at the door.

Yan Hui smiled and nodded.

"Mr. Yan, although the incident originated from you, it was Zheng Yun who tarnished my reputation. I hope she can write me an apology letter, then submit it to the school."

Wan Chu’er still harbored intentions to deal with Zheng Yun. Zheng Yun shouldn’t be able to just walk away scot-free after causing harm; a lesson must be taught. Firing Zheng Yun was Yan Hui’s responsibility, making her write an apology letter was hers.

Yan Hui paused for a moment, then said gently, "Okay, I will have her write the apology letter."

Hearing Yan Hui agree so readily made Wan Chu’er feel a bit embarrassed; she was someone who was tough on the outside but soft on the inside.

She thought for a moment and then said, "Mr. Yan, you know about Zheng Yun’s background, right? I heard she is the daughter of a nanny who works for a high-ranking official. She’s quite bold."

Yan Hui gently smiled and said, "I know. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave now."

"Alright, take care, Mr. Yan." Seeing that he didn’t care much, Wan Chu’er tactfully said goodbye.

Li Shan had just called to say that Old Sir Zhong wanted him to return to the old house to discuss Zheng Yun’s matter.

He guessed that the phone call was made in front of Old Sir Zhong and Zheng Yun, so Li Shan had reservations and did not share much other information.

Therefore, he immediately had Wan Chu’er investigated thoroughly and realized something when he found out she came from Wutong in S province.

Long ago, he heard from Old Sir Zhong’s old friend, General Wu, that Old Sir Zhong had left some regrets in Wutong County. Despite his efforts to investigate, he didn’t know what exactly happened in Wutong County, and even General Wu didn’t know; Old Sir Zhong also kept silent on this matter.

Li Shan was in another corner of the room; seeing Yan Hui, they exchanged glances.

Yan Hui steadied his mind and stood respectfully in front of Old Sir Zhong, saying gently, "Grandpa Zhong, I’m back."

Hearing Yan Hui’s voice, Aunt Zheng and Zheng Yun looked over, but Yan Hui acted as if he didn’t see them.

Old Sir Zhong slowly opened his eyes, squinting at Yan Hui, and nodded, saying, "Zheng Yun said you dismissed her in front of the entire company for an outsider; tell me what happened."

A hint of a smile appeared in Yan Hui’s eyes; although Old Sir Zhong had called him back because of Zheng Yun’s issue, he didn’t believe Zheng Yun’s words but wanted to hear his side.

He thought Old Sir Zhong likely summoned him back because Aunt Zheng had been pestering him.

Thinking this, Yan Hui felt that Aunt Zheng wasn’t completely useless as she at least got him a meeting with Old Sir Zhong.
