Chapter 157: Striking a Deal
Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Striking a Deal
An Zihao, like a morally upright teacher, earnestly coaxed Wan Chu’er, making it sound as though he genuinely had her best interests at heart.
If Wan Chu’er truly were a naïve nineteen-year-old freshman, she might have actually nodded and agreed.
Unfortunately, the Wan Chu’er that An Zihao was dealing with had a soul that had lived through an extra decade and experienced various prosperities in her past life, so how could she be fooled by the mere scraps thrown out by An Zihao?
But An Zihao was right, this is Beijing, a place full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers. Even though she was an insightful foreign female student, she couldn’t compete with the myriad of formidable opponents.
Wan Chu’er smiled slightly and said, "I prefer to be involved in the operations, after all, I put my heart and soul into developing this game. Whether it will be popular, how far it can go, I hope to be involved in every part."
Her intention was clear, and An Zihao narrowed his eyes.
"Are you sure?"
Wan Chu’er nodded, "But you’re also right, I am still just a student, and an outsider. The depths of Beijing are beyond my reach. I wonder if we could work together?"
Upon hearing the word "cooperation," An Zihao’s eyes lit up, but he calmly asked, "What kind of cooperation do you propose?"
Wan Chu’er replied, "I don’t like beating around the bush. I’ll state it plainly: I provide the game, you provide the people. You will be responsible for finding a reliable game company. The decision to cooperate with the game company will be up to you, and we will split all revenues fifty-fifty."
After hearing her words, An Zihao raised his eyebrows, fell into thought, and did not respond immediately.
Wan Chu’er was not in a hurry, letting him think.
Mai Qiqi and Jiang Xiaoxiao also had their thoughts and remained silent, not disturbing them.
After a while, An Zihao said, "I agree to your cooperation, with an additional condition: all games you develop in the future must first be offered to me for potential cooperation."
"No problem! I’ll add one condition too: I will find someone to represent me in our cooperation."
An Zihao glanced at An Gang, who was silent next to him, and said, "That’s acceptable."
The two initially reached a tentative agreement on cooperation. An Zihao, no longer in the mood to play, said, "In this gaming industry, speed is key. I hope to have the complete game in three days and then start discussions. Is that okay?"
"Sure." Wan Chu’er promptly agreed.
An Zihao nodded and added, "Alright, in three days, I will come with a lawyer to sign the agreement and we can start our collaboration."
After everyone had left, Wan Chu’er performed a backflip right there, immediately retrieved Xiao Bai’s number, and dialed his phone.
"Ding—"
The phone was picked up after just one ring, followed by Xiao Bai’s frantic voice.
"Wan Chu’er! You little brat, finally remembered your Second Brother, huh?"
"I thought once you went to Beijing, climbed a high branch, you had forgotten all about your Second Brother to the winds!"
"Tell me, what’s the reason for your call? Are you coming back to see your Second Brother? Just wait, Second Brother will prepare a grand welcome feast for you."
"No wait, you guys probably haven’t gone on vacation yet, so why the call? Could it be you’ve finally realized it’s time to get a boyfriend? Second Brother can give you some advice."
...
Wan Chu’er quietly listened as Xiao Bai rambled on and on over the phone, feeling as if she were back in Wutong.
Xiao Bai babbled on for quite a while but heard not a word from Wan Chu’er, which made him pause—could it be that this call from Beijing wasn’t from Wan Chu’er?
He tentatively said "Hello," and asked, "Who is it?"
Unable to help but smile, Wan Chu’er happily replied, "Second Brother, it’s me."
