Wang Mingrui was shocked by her words, “Work is work, private is private. Why should Jiawen ask her brother just because our lab runs out of materials? Forget me agreeing to it, even if Professor Li needs it urgently, he wouldn’t do such a thing!”

The lab space was small, and Lu Qian was practically shouting, so much so that both Mu Jiawen and Zhang Mingrui, sitting next to Wang Mingrui, could hear everything loud and clear.

Mu Jiawen turned her head in disbelief towards Wang Mingrui; she had not expected that the theft was somehow related to her.

Zhang Mingrui frowned unhappily. What was Lu Qian playing at? Regardless of Jiawen’s status or how many resources she had, it was no excuse for Lu Qian to break principles and steal someone else’s raw materials.

And what was truly unreasonable was the audacity with which she claimed righteousness!

Wang Mingrui was also furious. He didn’t argue with her further, only asking one final question, “Are you going to return the items or not?”

“Not returning them. If you have the guts, go tell your dean. I won’t admit to anything, anyway.”

“Oh right, I forgot to remind you, the surveillance camera in your lab was turned off by me this morning.”
