Rebirth: He Decides to Lie Flat -
Chapter 400 - 400 395 Resolution
Chapter 400: Chapter 395: Resolution Chapter 400: Chapter 395: Resolution The second eldest took Hong Jing’s bathrobe and helped her put it on, whispering comfortingly, “You go back to the room with Jiajia first. My brother and I will handle this.”
Hong Jing held his hand and shook her head slightly, “Let’s just go back.”
The guy had already been beaten, which was retaliation enough for her. There was no need to continue.
But the second eldest disagreed. He wiped the water off her forehead and said softly, “You don’t need to worry, just go back with peace of mind.”
Hong Jing bit her lip as she looked at him and ultimately didn’t say anything else.
Mu Jiawen came over and walked out with Hong Jing. Just as they stepped out of the swimming pool entrance, they were abruptly called to a stop.
“Hey, wait a second.”
The tone was quite rude.
Mu Jiawen and Hong Jing stopped in their tracks and turned around to see two girls from the group of five. Neither was particularly tall, and they appeared to be barely over 1.60 meters when measured with their slippers.
Approaching them, one of the girls spoke to Hong Jing in an impatient tone, “My cousin was the one who got hit, and we’re not pursuing the matter further. There’s no need for you to blow this up and check the surveillance video, considering…”
As she spoke, her gaze traveled over Hong Jing’s tightly wrapped body with disdain, “You wouldn’t want others to see your ass being touched by a man, especially not your boyfriend, right?”
At the time of the incident, the second eldest was focusing on practice, and Hong Jing was swimming leisurely behind him, so he only heard Hong Jing’s sharp scream and didn’t witness the scene with his own eyes.
Shocked, Hong Jing’s eyes widened as she stared at the other girl. What twisted logic and worldview was this? How could there be such people in the world?
Mu Jiawen narrowed her eyes and turned to look at Hong Jing, whose cheeks were tinged with anger, and said coldly, “It seems this person is used to being touched regularly, that’s why she’s advising us to keep the peace.”
The girl was taken aback for a moment and then angrily retorted, “What did you say?”
“What? If it’s not the case, then how could you have done it so proficiently?”
“You…”
“What about me? Or is it that your figure is so poor that you wish to be touched but no one wants to look? That’s right, with such a short stature, what attractions could there be? Then there’s that face which one can hardly bear to look at, tsk tsk…”
Mu Jiawen gave the woman a disdainful once-over and said to Hong Jing, “Being ugly isn’t her fault, but being this ugly and still daring to flaunt it is simply disgusting others, right?”
“Pfft!”
Hong Jing couldn’t help but laugh out loud. The gloom and annoyance that had filled her heart disappeared, replaced by a feeling of sour relief.
It wasn’t her fault anyway; why should she be the one to feel annoyed?
“You’re asking for it!”
The woman could no longer contain her anger and raised her hand to slap Mu Jiawen’s face.
This was the moment she had been waiting for!
Out of the corner of her eye, Mu Jiawen spotted the camera in the upper left corner. As the woman’s hand got close, she leaned her head back to dodge and appeared to lose her balance, suddenly kicking out fiercely at the woman’s stomach.
Hong Jing thought Mu Jiawen would fall, and quickly stepped back to catch her.
But the other woman was not as lucky as Mu Jiawen; she stumbled back several steps after being kicked in the stomach and finally slipped and fell to the ground.
She cried out in pain, clutching her stomach while yelling at her dazed companion standing by, “Are you dead or something? Come over and help me up.”
But just as she tried to stand up and couldn’t steady herself, Mu Jiawen grabbed her by the bathrobe’s collar and pulled her close, addressing the other person, “If you don’t want to get involved, then get lost.”
She had figured it out; these two weren’t getting along. That’s why when she kicked her just now, the other one pretended not to react and remained motionless.
Mu Jiawen dragged the woman by the collar into the swimming hall, with Hong Jing following closely behind.
The hotel employees and Jiang Yan, who were still inside and had hardly exchanged a few words, saw the girls who had left return, one of them being pulled in by her collar like a little chicken.
Jiang Yan frowned and, as they approached, asked Mu Jiawen first, “What’s going on?”
“This woman said they wanted to settle privately and mentioned that being touched a bit wouldn’t matter much. Seems like she’s used to this, probably does it often.”
Lao Er’s face turned an iron blue, and he cursed under his breath before swiftly stepping forward and kicking the man—who had just put on a bathrobe and because of his unsteadiness had to sit down—off the chair onto the ground, then followed with another fierce kick to his stomach.
The floor was wet and slippery; the man, caught off-guard, was kicked away and slammed hard into the railings next to the pool. His back and stomach suffered a double blow, and he curled up from the pain, unable to resist reaching towards his back.
Two companions, after a few seconds of stun, glared at the woman with dark faces, probably cursing her for her stupidity, and then, in a fluster, went over to help the man up.
The three hotel employees, witnessing Lao Er’s actions, did not step forward to stop him, nor did they even offer any dissuasions; they just exchanged silent glances, and one of them turned to find their manager.
For the hotel, it was definitely preferable that Jiang Yan and his group didn’t call the police. But for that to happen, the offending party had to soften up and apologize, right? You made a mistake and you still act so tough, thinking the hotel is your home? Doing whatever you want?
“Cousin, call Uncle…”
“Shut up!”
The moment Mu Jiawen released the woman, she immediately jumped away to keep her distance, then loudly called out to the man on the ground, but before she could finish, she was fiercely interrupted by another man who was supporting her cousin.
The woman’s eyes were red-rimmed with grievance as she looked at the three of them, thinking it wasn’t her fault, so why were they being harsh on her? Three against two and they couldn’t win the fight, just knowing to vent their frustration on her.
Hong Jing saw the man was kicked into such a state by Lao Er, and the last bit of her grievances dissipated.
She pulled Mu Jiawen away, leaving the messy scene behind for the two men to deal with.
But she could never have imagined that one day, she would encounter this man while having a meal with her parents and their friends, nor could she have guessed that the parents would suggest that he start a friendship with her.
The two girls went back to their room to shower and change. After waiting for about two hours, Jiang Yan and Lao Er returned.
“Because there’s a heavy snowstorm outside, the police wouldn’t be able to arrive shortly after the call was made.”
Knowing the two women were anxious, Lao Er spoke as soon as he entered, “I didn’t agree to a private settlement, Hong Jing, what do you think?”
Lao Er had insisted on calling the police, but Jiang Yan stopped him, suggesting they should ask Hong Jing’s opinion first. After all, she was the one involved, and she was also studying law, making her more professional in this regard than both of them.
“Let’s settle it privately,” Hong Jing had already returned to normal, “Even if we called the police, they’d probably suggest the same. Forget it!”
In fact, she was also worried because Jiang Yan and Lao Er had hit the man quite hard; she was afraid he might turn it around and extort them, especially when in unfamiliar territory. Who knew what kind of person he was?
Jiang Yan and Lao Er quickly took a shower and changed clothes before heading out again.
Half an hour later, the four of them met up in the hotel restaurant. They didn’t make any exorbitant demands for such an incident; they simply agreed that the other party would cover their hotel room and expenses for the next few days, and besides, the other party had to formally apologize to Hong Jing.
