Rebirth: He Decides to Lie Flat
Chapter 334 - 334 331 Basketball Match

Chapter 334: Chapter 331 Basketball Match Chapter 334: Chapter 331 Basketball Match After hanging up the phone, Yu Hang sat in the chair, staring blankly at the computer in front of him.

He didn’t know how much time had passed when he lifted his hand to grab the mouse and opened his QQ. Scrolling down to the middle, the pink Hello Kitty avatar was grayed out, indicating its owner wasn’t online.

He hadn’t paid attention to this before, but in these last couple of days, every time he turned on the computer he couldn’t help but check, only to be disappointed to see that Hello Kitty remained gray.

Was she busy on a date?

So busy that she didn’t even have time to go online?

The thought made Yu Hang restless.

He picked up his phone, found Zhu Jin’s number, and began to tap out a text message: [What are you doing?]

At that moment, Zhu Jin was being dragged by her roommate, sitting in the spectator stands of the sports field, boredly watching the basketball game between the finance and mathematics departments.

She was part of the finance department, and supposedly should be cheering for the boys in her department. But there was Zhu Zhen from the mathematics department, her brother. She couldn’t betray her own brother, could she?

Even with Zhu Zhen playing, she found the game utterly boring and had no interest at all.

Just then, her phone vibrated. Zhu Jin hurriedly took it out to unlock it and began to type her reply:

[Watching a basketball game, the final between our department and the math department. The first half is about to end, we’re leading by three points, they’re not too good.]

Wasn’t the point to get to know each other better? She knew Yu Hang liked basketball, but she couldn’t let on that she was almost falling asleep watching the game.

After sending the message, she blankly waited for a while before asking her roommate amidst the loud, excited applause, “Who won?”

Her roommate clapped excitedly, “The math department.”

Zhu Jin: …

Wait, why are you so excited if they won? Anyone would think your boyfriend was from the math department.

She asked again, “What was the score?”

“12:30.”

Zhu Jin: …

She twitched the corners of her mouth, quite incredulous.

Even more astonishing, she heard many girls screaming for Zhu Zhen, the cries loud and passionate, heating up the atmosphere and ringing in the ears.

Yu Hang was also good at basketball, so did that mean he was just as popular with the girls at his school?

At that thought, her entire mood soured.

On the other side, Yu Hang, after seeing her text, first wondered if she was there to cheer for some guy. Was it the guy who was pursuing her?

He too was immediately in a bad mood.

After thinking it over, he decided to skip basketball and replied, [You haven’t visited our school yet, do you want to come over for a tour?]

Zhu Jin’s spirits lifted instantly, practically sick of basketball by now, and she replied with one word: [Yes.]

She turned to pat her roommate on the shoulder, shouting, “A classmate of mine needs something, I’m heading out first.”

Her roommate grabbed her, “It’s not over yet, look how well your brother is playing, aren’t you going to cheer for him?”

“You’re enough, I’ll introduce you guys later.”

Now satisfied, her roommate waved her off as if shooing something away, “Go on, get going.”

Meanwhile, Yu Hang stared at that one word for a moment before smiling. What a pleasant surprise. He hadn’t expected her to agree so readily.

[Take a taxi to the East Gate, I’ll wait for you at the entrance.]

It was already five in the afternoon. The setting sun cast an orange glow over the sky, signaling the end of a scorcher of a day. A gentle breeze brushed against the face, bringing a touch of coolness.

Zhu Jin took a taxi to the East Gate of the School of Communication and saw Yu Hang, hands in his pockets, waiting for her as soon as she got out of the car.

Seeing her get out of the taxi, Yu Hang quickly came over. He coughed lightly, his expression somewhat unnatural, “Um, are you hungry? Shall we eat something first?”

Zhu Jin shook her head, “Let’s take a walk first.”

Then she asked, “Can we take a look inside your class?”

“Of course, school hasn’t started yet, there’s hardly anyone in the classroom.”

The two took a stroll around the campus, and compared to Beijing University, the School of Communication was much smaller. This was just one of its campuses, so it didn’t take long to see everything.

There wasn’t much to see in the classrooms either. As Yu Hang had said, school hadn’t started yet and there wasn’t a single person inside. Naturally, Jiajia wasn’t able to fulfill her little scheme of bumping into that girl from the train station who spoke in a whiny tone.

Generally, girls have a very sharp intuition about other girls, Yu Hang said she spoke the same way to everyone, nothing special. But Zhu Jin saw in her eyes the same thoughts she had.

That petite and delicate girl must like Yu Hang.

She didn’t know if it was fate, but she hadn’t run into her around the school or in class, yet they met her at a restaurant.

“Yu Hang!”

Wu Minmin and a few other girls were sitting together when they saw Yu Hang enter the restaurant. Their eyes immediately lit up, and Wu Minmin hurriedly raised her arm to call out.

Her voice was tender and coquettish, causing Zhu Jin to rub her arms in irritation once again.

Yu Hang, however, felt a chill at the sound of her voice. He had never felt this way before, but Zhu Jin was right behind him, and the misunderstanding from his words two days earlier was still lingering in a text message on her phone—he had even made a special trip to Beijing University in the middle of the night because of it.

Now this…

He didn’t dare to respond to Wu Minmin and instead turned to whisper to Zhu Jin, “It’s crowded here, and there are no seats by the window. How about we go somewhere else?”

Zhu Jin glanced at him sideways, “Are you feeling guilty?”

Yu Hang: …

He said nothing more, turned around, and pulled her toward the only two-person table left in the restaurant, which, coincidentally, was right next to Wu Minmin’s table.

Zhu Jin looked down at his hand holding her wrist, the corners of her mouth lifting slightly. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught the girl and her companions staring blankly at the two of them.

Gotta say, it felt pretty good!

Because they were close by, Zhu Jin overheard one of Wu Minmin’s friends whispering to her, “Is that Yu Hang’s girlfriend?”

If she could hear it, certainly Yu Hang could too, but he just looked down at the menu without raising his head.

Zhu Jin looked up at him and said softly, “Let’s not order soup, we won’t finish it.”

“Then what would you like to drink?”

“Do they have fresh juice?”

“Only orange juice. I’ll go out and buy you some.”

Yu Hang handed the marked menu to the waiter and got up to go buy the juice.

Wu Minmin, watching from the side, looked even more upset.

Yu Hang quickly returned, carrying two cups of different fresh juices. The two of them ate their meal as if nothing was amiss, ignoring the table next to them.

They arrived later than the other girls, but finished eating before them.

When getting up to leave, one of Wu Minmin’s friends couldn’t help but ask, “Yu Hang, is this your girlfriend? We’ve never seen her before.”

The whole table were Wu Minmin’s roommates, and they were also in the same class as Yu Hang, so everyone knew each other.

Yu Hang paused, glanced at Zhu Jin who was already walking out, and dropped a sentence, “She’s from Beijing University.”

Then he lifted his foot to catch up with her.

The three girls at the next table all looked at Wu Minmin and said, “Her girlfriend is from Beijing University, you should give up.”

“I knew Yu Hang couldn’t be single,” said one. “Everyone in his dorm said he often goes to Beijing University. It turns out his girlfriend is there.”

“What’s the big deal about Beijing University? As if it’s so impressive! Our School of Communication isn’t any worse, okay? It’s not impossible to steal someone away.”

“Are you crazy? Don’t mislead Minmin…”

Meanwhile, the two who had just left the restaurant were wandering slowly down the road towards the bus station.

They had plenty of time, and Zhu Jin planned to take the bus back to school, with Yu Hang definitely wanting to accompany her.

As for the earlier questions from the girls and Yu Hang’s response, Zhu Jin acted as if she hadn’t heard them.

Jiajia had said that when two people spend enough time together, feelings intensify and there’s no need for a confession, naturally, they come together.

And right now, they were just spending time…
