Chapter 222: Chapter 197 Difficult to Speak of the Hidden_3
Mrs. Leng was still quite conflicted over the encounter a few days ago at the wedding banquet when she saw Qian Rouxuan with a little boy by her side.
Seeing Qian Rouxuan evading her questions and unwilling to say much only deepened her suspicions. Could that child be her biological grandson?
She didn’t want to believe it, but looking at the boy’s appearance, she started to waver...
After returning home, Mrs. Leng tossed and turned, unable to sleep. When she finally drifted off, she had a strange and vivid dream where the boy called her "Grandma." When she woke up, the imagery from the dream lingered clearly in her mind, refusing to fade away.
In the end, she couldn’t bear it any longer and decided to seek out Qian Rouxuan to have a proper conversation.
Initially, Qian Rouxuan didn’t want to say anything, but under Mrs. Leng’s mix of persuasion and pressure, she finally admitted that the boy was indeed Leng Mochen’s child. However, she only found out she was pregnant after leaving him back then.
Mrs. Leng clenched her fists in regret, lamenting the way she had forcefully broken them up years ago. But what was done was done, and she didn’t want to disrupt her son’s hard-earned peace.
Qian Rouxuan suggested that since Mrs. Leng seemed to care for the boy, she could visit him as much as she wanted while she remained in the country.
Now, seeing her son being so caring toward Li Si, she dared not bring it up lightly, afraid that the already fragile relationship between mother and son might deteriorate further.
After much hesitation, Mrs. Leng finally shared everything with Leng Mochen, suggesting that he get a paternity test and meet the boy himself.
After hearing it all, Leng Mochen coldly refused, "Don’t meddle in this. I’ll handle it!" Regardless of Qian Rouxuan’s intentions, he wasn’t going to give her a chance to stir up trouble.
Whether or not the child was his, even if he was, there was no way he would let Li Si be anyone’s stepmother.
"Mochen, I know you resent me for breaking you two apart back then. But you have to understand, I truly felt that her family wasn’t suited for ours. Forget about their family background; just looking at her, with all her scheming little tricks, I didn’t like her!
But who could’ve known you’d suffer such a serious car accident afterward? Thankfully, you survived. And now that you’ve met Li Si, and the two of you genuinely seem to care for each other, I decided to let bygones be bygones and even support your engagement!
But now, when I look at that child who clearly resembles my grandson, I can’t help but feel torn..." Mrs. Leng wiped away her tears as she spoke. She didn’t want this situation either, but for the past few days, every time she closed her eyes, all she could see was that boy’s face. She couldn’t forget even if she wanted to.
Unmoved by her tears, Leng Mochen said coldly, "Don’t meddle in this. I’ll handle it! We’ll be leaving now."
After saying that, he turned and went downstairs, leaving Mrs. Leng in tears. She no longer knew whether her decision all those years ago was right or wrong.
When Li Si saw Leng Mochen coming down with a grim expression, she asked cautiously, "Mochen, what’s wrong?"
"Let’s head back first. We’ll talk later," Leng Mochen replied as he calmed his expression and led her away.
After the two of them returned home, they each went to freshen up. Leng Mochen was the first to finish his shower, and he went into his study to make a long phone call.
Just as he hung up, Li Si walked in wearing a pink silk nightgown, carrying a cup of hot milk for him.
She placed the milk on his desk and, seeing him massaging between his eyebrows in discomfort, walked over and gently began rubbing his temples.
"Feeling any better?" Li Si asked softly.
"Much better! Your hands really are amazing!" He complimented her as he started feeling more relaxed.
Li Si playfully punched his shoulder twice. "How about now?" Clearly, this was her way of teasing him for revenge.
"Hmm, comfortable! Keep going!" He opened his eyes, filled with amusement as he looked at her. "Let me give you a massage too!"
Li Si immediately waved her hands to decline—was he trying to kill her? With his strength, how could he possibly be gentle?
"What did your mom talk to you about upstairs?" she asked curiously, noting that it had been a long time since she’d seen such a cold expression on his face. She guessed it must’ve been something that made him extremely upset.
Leng Mochen pulled her into his lap and said, "Nothing, just some minor issue. Are you tired?"
Wearing their thin sleepwear, the heat from his body seeped through where they touched. Her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue. "Let me go! I’m tired and going to bed!"
"Alright! Let me carry you there!" Leng Mochen’s eyes lit up, his usually deep gaze becoming even more intense.
She yelped in surprise. "Your milk! You haven’t finished it yet!"
He picked up the cup of milk and downed it in one gulp. Just as she reached out to take the empty cup to wash it, she was scooped up into his arms like a princess. "Hey, I can walk myself!"
"Walk? What for? What’s the point of having a husband?" His eyes brimmed with meaning as he carried her effortlessly, as if she weighed nothing, straight back to the bedroom.
Leng Mochen laid her on the bed, pulled a blanket over her, and quickly stripped off his pajamas, leaving only his boxers as he slid under the covers.
Li Si tried to push him away with difficulty. "Don’t you still have work to do? I’ll just sleep first; you can finish up!"
"No way! You said you were tired, so I have to stay with you!" Gone was his earlier seriousness—he had instantly morphed into a clingy, devoted husband.
Moving closer to him, Li Si shot back, "And what if I’m not tired anymore?" This perverted man—hadn’t he already teased her enough these past few days? Couldn’t he ever get enough? And where were his hands wandering now?
"Not tired? Even better! Let’s go! I’ll lead you in some exercise. Left three circles, right three circles..."
"You perv! Ugh..."
The next morning, Li Si, sore all over, woke up late. Luckily, she still had one day off for the holiday and could laze in bed a little longer.
Feeling around the empty, cold side of the bed and hearing no sound from the room, she figured Leng Mochen had long since gotten up and was probably already full of energy, working out somewhere. She couldn’t help but sigh internally over the stark difference between them—how did he manage that?
In contrast, she realized she needed to work on her stamina. Otherwise, she might really collapse in bed someday.
Stretching lazily in bed, she finally started feeling a bit more awake. Wrapping herself in a robe, she went to the bathroom to shower. Just as she bent over to wash her hair, lathering her head in foam, the bathroom door suddenly opened. Lifting her head to see who it was, shampoo got into her eyes, stinging painfully. "Who’s there?" (To be continued. If you enjoyed this story, please visit qidian.com to vote with recommendations or monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.
