Rebirth as The Billionaire's Seventh Wife
Chapter 54: Disappointed

Chapter 54: Disappointed

When Aurora returned to the shop, a slight smile appeared on her lips as she saw Josh approaching her.

"Ma’am, are you alright?" Josh asked, scanning her from head to toe to ensure she was okay.

Earlier, he had been terrified about letting her go in alone. Several times, he considered forcing himself to enter the back area, but knowing that no one at this place would dare insult his boss’s wife, he chose to endure the wait, even though he felt anxious.

"Why do you look worried, Josh? This place is safe. You don’t need to worry," Aurora said with a smile as she walked out of the shop.

Josh smiled sourly while following her out. "It’s my job and duty to guard and accompany you, ma’am. And I’m proud I could do it. Also, your husband might punish me if he finds out I let you enter this place without my protection."

Aurora almost laughed at Josh’s words.

"Oh my God, Josh, you worry too much. Alex won’t care if anything happens to me," she wanted to shout, but then she held back. She knew that expressing her thoughts might only confuse Josh.

She smiled at him and added, "He won’t punish you as long as you don’t report it to him." As she glanced at him, she noticed his dark expression and frowned. "Oh my God. No way! You did inform him, didn’t you?"

Josh didn’t respond, but Aurora could clearly see the worry reflected in his eyes.

"Geez, Josh, why are you digging your own grave? Next time, you should just stop reporting anything to him. Report only important things and not too often."

"I apologize, Ma’am. I was quite worried..."

"Will you please stop being Alex’s spy? He wouldn’t care," she said casually, but Josh felt lightning had struck him.

’How did she know about that?’ He was shocked to hear Aurora’s words. Turning to her, he noticed her disappointed expression and didn’t know how to respond. He felt foolish for having exposed himself.

"Ma’am... Believe me, I didn’t report anything. I only mentioned what happened in the shop earlier," Josh said as he opened the back door for her.

"I believe you, Josh," Aurora smiled at him before getting into the car. She understood his role perfectly: protecting her while acting as Alex’s spy.

"Thank you, ma’am. " Josh is relieved that her true mission was not revealed. He hurriedly gets behind the wheel and drives away to the dark market area.

On her way to Green Hill, Aurora’s mind wandered back to what had happened at Nubox Junction. Moments later, her cell phone vibrated.

A smile gradually spread across her face as she saw the notification from the unique app she had created to communicate with a select group of people for her business.

’I knew it! Brother Joe wanted to confirm something with me...’ She had anticipated this, so she had already installed the app on her new cell phone, which she had recently purchased precisely for this purpose.

She read the message from Brother Joe, the owner of Nubox Junction.

"Hi Zee, did you send new people to the store at Arcadia Country?"

"Yes, she’ll take care of my business in that country from now on. Seriously, Brother Joe, why did you ask?" After reading the message a few times, she presses send.

"Oh, okay. I’m sorry for asking, Zee. I’m just concerned that someone might take advantage of your name."

"Don’t worry. She’s my most trusted person. The individual who usually visits your shop has been relocated to another location."

"Okay, I get you, Zee! You can ask your new gal to return to the shop tomorrow. Your special order will be ready for pickup by then."

"Great. Thank you!"

"By the way, Zee, a new job request has emerged. It offers substantial money. If you’re interested, let me know."

A spring-like smile emerges on her lips as she reads the text. This is what she needs: a new project.

"Send the details. I will check it out!"

She has never felt happier after her rebirth. She will return to the market after acquiring her new unit’s supercomputer. Her initial problem has been resolved, and soon, she will have access to her assets from her previous life.

On her way home, Aurora stayed quiet to let Josh drive calmly. She hoped they would arrive before dinner because she didn’t want to upset Alex.

...

Aurora felt relieved when they arrived home ten minutes early, giving her a few extra minutes to tidy up before dinner.

When Aurora entered the dining room, she was surprised to see Tina arranging food on the table.

"Aunty, why are you here?" Aurora asked, confused. She remembered Tina mentioning that she wasn’t responsible for this floor.

"Ma’am, Martin asked me to accompany you to dinner because Master Alex won’t be returning home tonight," Tina replied casually, continuing to set the dishes on the table, unaware of Aurora’s surprised expression.

Aurora was surprised to hear that. But, seconds later, she smiled faintly, recalling their prenup agreement. ’Why do you feel disappointed? You married him just because of the contract!’

"Ma’am, you need to eat now while the soup is still warm," Tina said as she stood beside her, placing some food on Aurora’s plate, just as she used to when they lived in the apartment.

"Aunty, please sit down and eat with me," Aurora said as she pulled a chair beside her.

After a few moments, Tina remained standing, frowning in confusion.

"Aunty, why didn’t you sit?" Aurora asked.

"I can’t... your status has changed now. You are Master Alex’s wife... I can’t..."

Aurora didn’t wait for her to finish. She stood up, took Tina’s hand, and guided her to sit beside her.

"No one will dare to scold you, Aunty. Don’t worry about that," she smiled, trying to calm Tina, who was still tense and shocked as she sat next to Aurora.

Tina glanced around, checking for other staff members, but found none. She didn’t even see Martin in the room.

"Why are you afraid? There’s no one on this floor, just us. Alex won’t be home," Aurora assured her before starting her dinner.
