Chapter 581: Chapter 561: The Luo Family’s Stance (Part 2)

"Okay, got it, see you tomorrow." After Old Master Luo hung up the phone, he let out a deep sigh, feeling everyone’s eyes on him before he waved his hands in a panic, "Everyone go about your business, Xiao Si, let there not be a next time."

Luo Yanran: ??? What next time?

But he didn’t have the courage to argue, so he just nodded and agreed, "Yes."

Upon reflection, he understood that Old Master Luo must have been referring to the incident where Luo Qianqian was in danger in front of him.

Not to mention Old Master Luo and her own father wouldn’t allow it, he himself wouldn’t allow it either.

After Old Master Luo finished speaking, he stood up and went upstairs to his study, ignoring the various expressions on the faces of the people behind him.

Only after entering his study did he sigh again, "Qianqian, I hope you won’t blame Grandpa."

On Luo Qianqian’s end, she was being cared for by Yue Tingyu just like a baby, worried she would scald herself, blowing on her food several times, and even feeding her.

Luo Qianqian insisted she had only hurt her throat and it really wasn’t so dramatic, was it?

It wasn’t the first time she had suffered a worse injury, nothing out of the ordinary. Though in Yue Tingyu’s eyes, her suffering was self-inflicted through her eating habits.

"It’s because you’re always greedy and picky. Let’s see if you dare to eat recklessly again! If you want to eat something, tell Grandma, and Grandma will make you a revised version," Yue Tingyu scolded, while also reminding Luo Qianqian not to torment herself for a bite of food in the future.

Luo Qianqian kept nodding, cheerfully comforting her grandma, but then noticed her two aunts’ different looks and felt a shock in her heart. Could it be that the aunts already knew the real reason for her injury?

After finishing a bowl of porridge, she declined Yue Tingyu’s suggestion for another bowl and cheerfully pointed to the bundle of strawberries on the floor.

Seeing the bundle of strawberries, Jia Ning and Ye Qianying couldn’t help but find it a bit funny. At first, they thought it was a bouquet of roses, but seeing how Luo Qianqian cherished them, it didn’t seem right. On closer inspection, they realized it was a bunch of strawberries, they had to admit Luo Yanran had really put his heart into treating his sister.

If Luo Yanran were here right now, he would be extremely embarrassed because the idea was Qin Nuan’s.

Qin Nuan said that since they all had lovers, wouldn’t it be quite a stimulus for Luo Qianqian? So, it was a consolation prize he had prepared.

Qin Nuan knew that with something delicious, Luo Qianqian wouldn’t care about anything else.

Qin Nuan and Cong Rong enjoyed Yue Tingyu’s egg noodles and squinted their eyes happily; the noodles were smooth, and the broth was savory, both of them too busy eating to do anything else.

It was only after finishing their meal that they felt a bit embarrassed, looking at the two empty bowls before they turned to each other and simultaneously said, "Thanks, Grandma, it was very delicious."

Luo Qianqian wore a proud expression, of course, Grandma’s noodles were super delicious.

Yue Tingyu shook her head, "If you like it, eat more, there’s still some left. And come and eat more often in the future." Then, seeing Luo Qianqian’s smug look, she laughed and patted her head, "Let’s see if you dare to be so greedy again."

Luo Qianqian stuck out her tongue, pretending to be shyly annoyed, which amused Yue Tingyu for a moment before she shooed her out.

As daughters-in-law, Jia Ning and Ye Qianying naturally stayed to help clean up, sending the three young girls out.

Once out of the kitchen, Cong Rong patted her chest and said in a low voice to Qin Nuan and Luo Qianqian, "That almost killed me with nerves."

"Haha, there’s no need to be so nervous, the Luo Family is very open-minded. Didn’t you see Auntie’s surprised reaction when Luo Yanwu confessed to you?" Qin Nuan patted Cong Rong’s shoulder. She didn’t have such feelings herself because her initial visits to the Luo Family were for Luo Qianqian and she had no feelings for Luo Yanran, so she wasn’t that nervous.

It was only after they got to know each other well that she and Luo Yanran sparked a relationship.

Luo Qianqian nodded continuously. If the Luo Family had wanted to arrange marriages, why would her brothers still be single to this date?

He’s probably going to have to marry and have children once he turns twenty-two, right?

Her grandparents were the most open-minded grandparents ever.

"Why don’t you come over to my place and sleep over tonight?" Qin Nuan looked at Qin Wen sitting next to her and pouted, "You’re always so tense staying here."

Cong Rong hesitated as she glanced at Qin Nuan, she was actually leaning towards returning to school.

"You can’t tell me you still want to go back to school. We’ve been taking leaves of absence these past few days," Qin Nuan immediately dismissed her thoughts, "Besides, you have a date tomorrow, right?"

Cong Rong was taken aback for a moment, her gaze shifting to Luo Yanwu, who was talking to Luo Yanran across the room. Their eyes met in midair, and the very next second, Cong Rong’s face flushed as she averted her gaze, "That’s not necessarily the case..."

But Luo Yanwu just walked over and said, "Cong Rong, let’s go on a date tomorrow?" His invitation was very direct.

Qin Nuan snickered and pulled Luo Qianqian away, leaving space for the new couple.

Just then, Luo Yanran approached Qin Nuan, "Qianqian, my dad is looking for you..." and then boldly grabbed Qin Nuan’s hand, "Interested in watching fireworks tomorrow evening?"

Luo Qianqian obediently went over and sat down next to Luo Xihan.

Luo Xihan looked up at Luo Qianqian, who had sat down neatly, and then lowered her head again.

Luo Qianqian wore a puzzled expression. Was this meant for her to reflect? Could it be that her uncle and aunt were aware of the true reason behind her injury?

With her head bowed, she appeared to be deeply reflecting on the incident where she lacked skill in her art and had inadvertently caused her brother’s friend to be hurt.

Luo Xihan read the newspaper for a while before feeling something was off; why did this child look like she was admitting to a mistake? "Qianqian, what’s wrong? Did Xiao Si pick on you? Did you come to tattle?"

Luo Qianqian looked up in surprise, hearing Second Uncle’s tone... she quickly glanced at Luo Yanran, only to see him chatting so gleefully with Qin Nuan that his smile almost reached his ears, and felt a sting of grievance.

If you guys had something to discuss, she would have left on her own, right? Who deceives others like this?

Seeing the trace of grievance in Luo Qianqian’s eyes, Luo Xihan understood at once and called out, "Luo Yanran!"

Luo Yanran paused, greeted Qin Nuan, then came over, "Dad, what is it?"

"What’s going on with Qianqian?" Seeing the look of grievance on Luo Qianqian’s face pained Luo Xihan.

Luo Yanran looked at Luo Qianqian, who was almost crying and acting as if she didn’t want to deal with him, and scratched his head in confusion, "Dad, wasn’t it you who said you wanted to have a talk with Qianqian when you had time?"

Reminded by his son, Luo Xihan also seemed to recall something, hesitated for a brief moment before saying, "Go and play for now. Oh, and Qianqian will be staying home to learn some things with your mom tomorrow, so don’t take her out running around."

Luo Yanran nodded, puzzled, then with the same confused look, went back to Qin Nuan and they resumed their previous conversation.

Upon hearing there was indeed something important, Luo Qianqian immediately straightened her expression, looking earnest.

Luo Xihan fell silent for a while before finally speaking, "Qianqian, can you promise your uncle one thing?"

Luo Qianqian nodded, looking puzzled.

Luo Xihan took a deep breath, "But no matter what happens in the future, I hope you know that we, your family, always have your best interests at heart and would never harm you, so please never feel distanced from us, okay?"

Luo Qianqian pondered for a moment and then nodded solemnly.
