Chapter 361: Chapter 343: Jia Ning’s Teasing

It took a moment to recover before looking at Luo Qianqian with a mix of laughter and tears, "What are you even thinking about? At your age, why are you thinking so much?"

Luo Qianqian grinned, "With brother not around, I have to think for him as well. Just in case we’re not here anymore, Mom will have someone to rely on."

Luo Xihan sighed, "Even if your dad wasn’t here, there’s still Second Uncle, your eldest uncle, and your youngest uncle. You’re still young; don’t worry about everything that could possibly happen. You don’t have to carry the sky on your shoulders."

Luo Qianqian grinned, "Let’s not talk about this. Second Uncle, what do you think about Nuannuan? I think she and Fourth Brother make a great match." As she spoke, she covered her mouth and snickered.

Luo Xihan shook his head helplessly, "Nuannuan is a good girl, but just look at your Fourth Brother’s slacker temperament; don’t harm the young lady." Despite saying this, she took out a pen and signed her name on the back of the agreement, remembering to ask, "This was prepared by Nuannuan’s second brother, right?"

Luo Qianqian nodded, her eyes full of teasing, "Wow, Second Uncle even knows this. It seems you really like Nuannuan."

Luo Xihan was quite helpless with Luo Qianqian, "I also know you’re quite close to the Wei Family’s young miss. But while she’s still losing weight, you’ve run back here to gain weight." With that, she gently pinched Luo Qianqian’s cheek.

Luo Qianqian pouted, "I’m not fat. My face is round because Second Uncle pinched it out. If I can’t get married later, I’ll just follow behind Second Uncle crying."

"Is that so?" Luo Xihan raised an eyebrow, silent.

Feeling guilty, Luo Qianqian nodded, "Right, just look at these skinny arms and legs of mine, coupled with a chubby face. Does that really look good?"

While they were talking, Jia Ning, who had finished cooking, came into the study to call them, "Dinner’s ready."

Luo Qianqian obediently nodded, "I could smell the deliciousness from afar. Second Aunt, you have to give me the biggest bowl. I’m going to eat more than Fourth Brother."

"Sure, sure, sure," Jia Ning laughed, then looked at the two with a changed expression, "Do you think Ranran will have any development with Nuannuan?"

Luo Qianqian looked at Second Aunt in surprise, "Why do you say that?"

"I always feel that when he sees Qin Nuan outside, he seems extremely fond of her, but at home, he seems a bit unhappy," Jia Ning wrinkled her nose, "I really like Qin Nuan, but today I felt somewhat annoyed by her..."

"Second Aunt, I know why," Luo Qianqian said with a sneaky giggle.

"What is it?" Luo Xihan and Jia Ning both looked over together.

"This is probably what they call mother-in-law intuition." After saying this, Luo Qianqian dashed away.

Jia Ning looked amusingly at Luo Qianqian’s retreating figure but saw her husband looking very serious, "What’s wrong?"

"My mom also used to say that she was a bit annoyed by you when you first came to our house, who knew that later I’d really marry you. I didn’t even know you at that time," Luo Xihan laughed as he shared the old story with Jia Ning, who promptly scrunched up her nose, "You’re such a liar, Mom loves me a lot."

"Yes, yes, yes, perhaps there really is something like mother-in-law intuition. After all, having raised a pig for so long, it is about to be led away by Little Cabbage." Luo Xihan laughed loudly, wrapping his arms around his petite wife as they left the study.

Luo Qianqian stood leisurely to the side, watching Qin Nuan and Luo Yanran bicker. However, she unfortunately got dragged into the warzone by her brother and scheming sister, "Qianqian, tell me, I work so hard every day, yet she won’t let me eat even a single pack of instant noodles. You guys sneak out to eat, is it wrong for me to come home to eat?"

"Qianqian, you tell him, he doesn’t do anything all day, just watches TV. Who’s that celebrity at a glance?" Qin Nuan said without hesitation, immediately grabbed Luo Qianqian’s hand and pulled her to her side.

"Qianqian, when have I..."

"Alright, alright, I know you two are close. Hurry up and come eat," Jia Ning said with a smile, watching Luo Qianqian carefree amidst the flames of war, and chided them.

Seeing Jia Ning, Qin Nuan snapped back to reality, blushed, and hid behind Luo Qianqian who was a head taller than her, a trace of embarrassment on her face.

Luo Yanran sat down at the dining table with a smug look, "Mom, what delicious food have you made?"

As he spoke, he reached for the tender, yellow fried chicken wings.

Jia Ning didn’t hesitate to slap his hand away with a smack, "Is that yours? Just eat it. This was made for Qianqian, take your sisters and go wash your hands."

Luo Yanran looked aggrievedly at the golden chicken wings and then at the stern look in his own mother’s eyes. He had no choice but to obediently take Luo Qianqian and Qin Nuan to wash their hands.

"Look at him, not even as mature as Qianqian. You’re going to have a long wait if you expect a daughter-in-law," Luo Xihan said in a low voice with an undertone of teasing as she watched her son.

Jia Ning pursed her lips and looked at the backs of the three, noncommittal.

"Qianqian, this was specially made for you by your second aunt. Try it," Jia Ning picked up a mid-joint wing for Luo Qianqian with the serving chopsticks.

"Nuannuan, auntie’s fish is good, have a taste." She then gave Qin Nuan a chopsticks’ worth of fish.

Luo Yanran, hoping for some attention on the side, entertained his parents as Jia Ning, without hesitation, picked him a chopstick of greens, "Look at how chubby you’ve become. Eat more vegetables."

Luo Qianqian silently opened her mouth wide, mocking Luo Yanran. With a mother like this, he had a long road ahead. Who knows, in the future, she might trick her son with a daughter-in-law, set traps for her son to fall into—it was all too likely.

"Auntie, you’re too cute," Qin Nuan chuckled behind her hand, looking at Nuannuan, "If you weren’t Qianqian’s aunt, I’d really want to call you sister. Not only do you look young, but you also have such a cute personality."

Jia Ning’s smile made her eyes almost disappear, "You sure know how to talk sweetly."

"Second aunt, I’ve said so many nice things, and you’ve never complimented me. You really don’t love me anymore," Luo Qianqian pretended to be heartbroken and playful.

Jia Ning laughed, "If I didn’t love you, would I make you delicious food? You little ingrate. Hurry up and eat. If you don’t finish, I won’t like you anymore."

Luo Qianqian looked at the plate with over twenty mid-joint wings, her mouth twitching as she obediently bowed her head to eat.

Luo Yanran, seeing no one paying attention to him, sneakily picked a few chicken wings and then bent his head to eat. He would just be an invisible presence at the dinner table.

After the meal, Luo Xihan bid farewell to the four before she returned to her unit. Then Luo Qianqian excused herself to go back and review, and naturally, Qin Nuan wouldn’t let Luo Qianqian leave alone, promptly stating that she also needed to head back. This resulted in Luo Yanran being ordered to escort the two back home.

Once outside, Luo Qianqian passed the agreement and check to Qin Nuan, blinking, "Don’t forget to list out a detailed account of what you’ve done, to show the charitable donors from both families."

"I know," Qin Nuan nodded, tucking away the items, then turned to Luo Yanran, "Qianqian and I are going to have a look at study materials first, you can go home."

Luo Yanran, with hands in pockets, looked at Luo Qianqian, "Wherever my sister goes, as her brother, of course, I have to follow."

"When did I need..." to buy study materials?

But before she could finish speaking, Qin Nuan cut her off, "No need to bother, you’re such a big star, don’t bring trouble to Qianqian."

Luo Yanran looked at the occasional private car that slowed down in front of them, cursing himself for not having brought his disguise, and could only wave goodbye and head home.

Luo Qianqian raised an eyebrow, "Why did you send him away?"

Qin Nuan appeared a little conflicted, "It’s so lonely for auntie to be home alone."

Luo Qianqian was speechless. If things really worked out, Jia Ning would treasure you so much, considering others with such empathy.
