Chapter 299 - 281: Specialized Training
Chapter 299: Chapter 281: Specialized Training
Just as Ye Liang had anticipated, it wasn’t just simple training, it was sealed training; even Ke Ji had been called for closed training guidance. Watching Luo Qianqian walk calmly into the secret research institute, Ye Liang felt a slight surge of acidity in his heart.
"Are you Ye Meng?" A man in a black tracksuit suddenly appeared behind Luo Qianqian. His chilling voice reached Luo Qianqian, who was enjoying her hot milk.
Luo Qianqian was startled by the cold voice, instinctively stood up, and dropped the milk. The milk splashed onto the ground, and she stiffly turned around. Although her hair was glossy black, the neatness of its length was not commendable. Her eyes had red bloodshot streaks, and beneath them were thick dark circles. Her lips were a sickly pale color. Her figure was emaciated, scarily thin as if a skeleton had just been covered with a layer of human skin.
"Are you, or are you not?" the man squinted his eyes, staring fixedly at Luo Qianqian.
Luo Qianqian suddenly felt as if she was being targeted by a fierce snake, her hair standing on end, goosebumps inexplicably sprouting all over her.
"Yes." Seeing the man’s dissatisfied expression, Luo Qianqian immediately bowed, not daring to say anything else.
Seeing Luo Qianqian’s action, the man nodded with satisfaction: "I am Hei Yu, you can call me Elder Xiao Hei."
"Yes, Elder Xiao Hei." Luo Qianqian nodded repeatedly, ensuring she remembered, and watched as Hei Yu turned to fiddle with his phone. She cautiously sized up the person in front of her. He seemed terribly sleep deprived, looking very weary yet his eyes still sparkled, if one ignored the bloodshot whites.
"This is your next course." Luo Qianqian heard her phone buzz, then saw the message that had been sent on her phone. But surprisingly, the sender’s name was a bunch of garbled text. She looked at Hei Yu in amazement.
"What are you looking at?" Hei Yu frowned, his eyes narrowing eerily as he asked.
"Elder Xiao Hei, how do you know my phone number?" Luo Qianqian swallowed her saliva. It wasn’t yet a real-name system; how could he have possibly found her?
"Rather than being curious, you should focus on attending my class properly. You will understand eventually." Hei Yu walked ahead, and after a while, he didn’t feel the person behind follow, so he turned back to see Luo Qianqian still standing there in a daze: "Aren’t you following? Did you think you were here on vacation?"
"Oh oh oh." Luo Qianqian quickly dropped her thoughts and obediently followed Hei Yu’s steps.
Luo Qianqian’s use of computers was limited to chatting, shopping, watching videos, and playing games. A day’s lecturing had already muddled her entire brain. Hei Yu, seeing his student blankly jotting down notes, only had the mercy to let her go back to rest, after all, she was still a child.
"Tomorrow at six, don’t be late." said Hei Yu, and then he pushed open a hidden door on the side: "You can rest here, get something to eat from the cafeteria, the map is in your phone." After saying that, Hei Yu left the room.
Luo Qianqian rubbed her sore eyes, opened her phone, and realized she was indeed quite hungry after finishing the class.
She took out her phone and following the instructions found the cafeteria: "Ke... bro, you’re here too..." Seeing Ke Ji also in the cafeteria, Luo Qianqian was initially surprised, but then she remembered the website. She thought it might not be appropriate to reveal too much, so she still called him brother. Being older, it was always right to call him brother, especially since Wild Wolf was nominally her brother too.
Ke Ji looked surprised upon seeing Luo Qianqian, instinctively glanced at his watch, and exclaimed with a sigh: "Girls really are different, eh? The teacher wouldn’t let me eat unless I completed the tasks."
"Teacher?" Luo Qianqian got herself a bowl of rice along with a bun and two Baozi, and a plate of meat dishes before sitting down next to Ke Ji: "Do you know Elder Xiao Hei?"
"Speaking of which, I’m also sort of your senior," Ke Ji shook his head.
"You’re a former senior." Hei Yu sat down next to Luo Qianqian with his tray of food: "You’ve already been expelled from our school, why are you back?"
Ke Ji looked visibly embarrassed, "Teacher, why did you come to the cafeteria?"
Looking at the vegetables and a bite of rice on Hei Yu’s plate, Luo Qianqian disdainfully passed over the baozi she hadn’t eaten yet, "Teacher, you need to eat more to gain weight. You didn’t even have time for lunch, and if you don’t eat more tonight, won’t you be blown away by the wind?"
Ke Ji’s eyes widened, wanting to intervene but only managed to open his mouth, as the teacher was there, leaving no room for him to speak.
Hei Yu frowned, seemingly very displeased.
Luo Qianqian then said, "Look, even a kid like me eats so much." Having said that, Ke Ji finished all the food on his plate and dropped a line, "I’ll come find you later," then ran off.
At this point, Luo Qianqian realized she shouldn’t have said that and covertly attempted to take back the baozi.
"What are you doing?" Hei Yu was immediately upset seeing Luo Qianqian’s chopsticks reaching towards his plate again.
Luo Qianqian pursed her lips, "I was wrong, teacher. I didn’t know what you liked to eat, and it was wrong of me to give you the baozi," she said, putting down the chopsticks and waiting for his response like a well-behaved child.
Hei Yu paused for a moment, then left with his plate, "It’s not your fault, go ahead and eat."
After finishing her meal and collecting her necessities, Luo Qianqian returned to where she was staying. Upon entering, she found Ke Ji was already there. Her eyes widened, "Don’t you need a card to get in here?"
"Didn’t the teacher mention that this used to be my room?" Ke Ji shook his head, "You’re really bold. Come on, if there’s anything you don’t understand, I’ll explain it again. The teacher is very strict. I imagine you wouldn’t dare ask him. What are the goals and tasks the teacher has set for you?"
Luo Qianqian took out her phone and pulled up the text messages, "These are the ones."
"What?" Ke Ji’s eyes bulged, "Why are your goals tougher than mine? Are you saying you’re smarter than me?"
Luo Qianqian blinked, "Could it be the timing is different? You started studying before I did, so naturally, the difficulty isn’t the same, especially since computers are just becoming widespread now."
"Exactly, when I was studying, I’d just play games when I was free. Later, when the teacher found out, he punished me by making me prepare cakes in the cafeteria..." Ke Ji shook his head, "You don’t know how hard it is to handle a mallet all day."
"The teacher would never do such a thing." Luo Qianqian didn’t believe him. Although she had only been studying for a day and hadn’t eaten much, the water in front of her was always warm, showing that the teacher was indeed very concerned about her progress.
"You weren’t doing this all day, were you?" Ke Ji pointed at the oval on the screen, "Coding to draw an egg? And coloring it?"
"Not entirely, I also took some notes on coding and other stuff." Luo Qianqian pointed to the notebook in front of the computer, "This section the teacher went through a bit fast, and I got a bit mixed up. I can hardly understand it now. Can you help me look at it?"
"I can’t believe you even took notes." Ke Ji shook his head incredulously, opened the notebook, and despite its disorder, it was clear she had taken them seriously, "I’ll correct them for you; you go take a shower."
Luo Qianqian nodded. She really didn’t want to face the computer anymore; her eyes and head were hurting.
Time flew quickly, and a month later, Luo Qianqian left the base with dark circles under her eyes but the smile on her face told Wild Wolf, who came to pick her up, that she had gained quite a lot.
