Chapter 91: 91 - Asserting Dominance [7]

"Come here you little piece of shit."

Raven said with a frown on his face.

Then not far from where he was—

"Oh my god... He’s doing just fine."

"Wait no... He’s actually winning."

Jeanna mumbled that, disbelief and shock could be heard in her voice. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Her eyes widened in shock at the sight of bodies lying motionless on the ground— "dead". And in the middle of it all, Raven was openly provoking Sean.

She was crouched behind a tree at the edge of the forest surrounding the area, watching everything from afar.

Behind her, the rest of their team— those who had followed her to support Raven— stood just as stunned, wearing the same expression of disbelief etched across her face.

They had arrived barely a minute ago.

And yet, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe toward Raven because of the scene that greeted them. They expected for the worst when they decided to chase after Raven, to be honest.

But just as they stood there, caught in a daze—

"ALL OF YOU...!"

Raven’s loud voice cut through the moment.

"SCATTER AND HIDE YOURSELVES IN THE FOREST!!!"

Then he commanded, his tone sharp and unwavering.

"...?!"

Sean and his team, the spectators outside the dimension, and everyone watching Raven’s live stream— none of them had any idea who he was talking to.

"He knows..."

Jeanna mumbled, eyes wide in shock. The others behind her were just as stunned.

Raven was aware of their arrival.

And they all understood... Those commands were meant for them!

"How did he know we’re here?"

That same question echoed in all of their minds, as if they had shared a single thought.

For a few seconds, no one moved.

But just then—

"Let’s go."

Jeanna’s firm voice cut through the silence, snapping everyone out of their daze. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The group instinctively turned to her, eyes focusing as her words grounded them back into the situation they have in hand.

"Our leader gave us his instruction."

She said, her voice steady, her gaze unwavering.

"We need to cooperate and follow it."

Her resolute expression lit a fire in the rest of them.

They exchanged brief glances. No words needed, just silent understanding— before nodding in unison.

"Got it."

"That’s right."

Their response came quietly, barely louder than a whisper, but it was enough. They had heard each other. They were ready.

Then after that—

SWOOSH~

SWAAAH~

BAM-

They all scattered throughout the forest, silently positioning themselves around the area where Raven and Sean’s team were locked in confrontation. Every step was careful, every breath measured, they moved as quietly as possible to avoid being detected.

They were still quite a distance away from the center of the fight, far enough that spotting them should’ve been pretty hard. The gap was wide— wide enough to keep them hidden.

Which is exactly why they were so shocked when Raven noticed them.

But in truth, Raven hadn’t known at first either.

He only became aware of their presence thanks to Yuki— who, from above, had a literal bird’s-eye view of the entire area. She had seen them moving through the trees and reported it to him telepathically.

"Hmm, they’re following my order pretty well."

Raven mumbled with a satisfied smile. He had just shared senses with Yuki and, through her eyes, saw his teammates quietly moving into position— following his command without hesitation.

’I wasn’t actually sure if they’d come after me here... I didn’t give them much to go on, and I was pretty bossy with them.’

Raven admitted to himself.

’Still, even if they hadn’t shown up—’

’I would’ve won anyway.’

He added inwardly, his gaze shifting back to the enraged Sean, who stood roughly 80 meters away.

’But because they’re here...’

"Everything would be much easier and faster now."

Cluck-

Raven declared as he put his [Nyx] back in its holster.

Fwish~

Then he finally lowered [Emmeranne] as he straightened his posture.

And with a calm expression on his face—

"Protect me."

Raven commanded as his eyes turned cold.

TAP-

Raven stepped forward.

S W A A A H~!

Then, without warning, a powerful and refined presence burst forth from him, rippling across the area!

In just a second, his entire aura shifted—calm yet commanding, as if the weight of the surrounding now bent to his will!

"...!"

"!!!"

Sean, Ervin, Barry, and the rest of their team instinctively flinched, the force of it enough to push them a step back without thinking.

Raven’s team felt it too—jolted at first—but the shock quickly gave way to something stronger. That presence wasn’t meant to scare them. It reminded them why they followed him. Their trust didn’t waver—it deepened!

"It’s... much stronger than before."

Jeanna muttered while she was under Raven’s overwhelming presence again for the second time.

She remembered how Raven’s aura wasn’t as kind as now the first time, making her a bit nervous.

Though, she just shook her head to remove such thoughts.

’We’re currently in a team, and I don’t want to be hostile with him again.’

Jeanna thought as she strengthened her focus even more and scanned the area around Raven.

On the other hand—

"What the fuck is he...?"

Sean mumbled in distress, his voice barely escaping him. He was caught beneath Raven’s overwhelming presence.

And because that presence was directed at him with hostility, he and his teammates felt it in full force— a crushing pressure that bore down on them without mercy!

Sean grew a bit nervous after realizing he had taken a step back without meaning to, driven solely by Raven’s presence.

Beads of sweat began forming on his forehead.

Beside him, Barry was already hiding behind Ervin, his face pale and his hands slightly trembling.

And Ervin... he said nothing. He simply stared at Raven, a complicated look twisting across his face.

’He’s... Definitely not normal.’

Ervin thought to himself.

FWIP-

’I need to eliminate him myself.’

Then he concluded and took out his personal sword from his spatial storage!

Ervin’s sword wasn’t anything special. Just a standard longsword, slightly better than the free ones handed out by the academy, but nothing close to high-grade equipment.

But that was all he had.

Sean’s family, the ones who took him in, weren’t providing much beyond the basics. A roof over his head, meals to keep him going, and enrollment at Lunar Academy. In exchange? He was expected to do whatever they told him. No questions, no complaints.

As for everything else; his clothes, his gear, even some of his training supplies... They were all earned through his own sweat and effort.

But right now, none of that mattered.

TAP—

He stepped forward.

He wasn’t thinking about how weak his sword was. He wasn’t thinking about how unfair everything had been.

He just moved.

"Huh?!"

Everyone around him flinched in surprise when Ervin suddenly raised his sword— pointing its tip directly at Raven.

"Come."

Ervin said, calm and firm. No hesitation.

And when Ervin pointed his sword—Raven let out a mischievous smirk, one that tugged at the corner of his lips with mocking amusement.

Without missing a beat, he raised his own weapon—[Emmeranne]—and aimed it lazily back at Ervin.

"You come, asshole."

He said it with that same arrogant, bossy tone that always made people’s blood boil.

"..."

Ervin’s brows furrowed, clearly irritated.

He parted his lips, ready to throw a retort back at Raven—

SWOOSH—

—but before a word could leave his mouth, a blur of movement exploded behind Raven!

Someone had appeared. Fast.

Ervin’s eyes widened as recognition struck.

’Idion!’

One of their teammates. The one who always bragged about being the fastest among them. He was confident in his speed—sometimes too confident.

SWISH—

And now Ervin saw him—Idion—already mid-strike, his blade slicing through the air, aiming straight for Raven’s neck with ruthless precision!

’NO!’

Ervin cried out in his mind, an instinctive reaction. Something felt wrong. Very wrong.

Raven hadn’t moved. Hadn’t even flinched. He was still standing there, perfectly calm, as if he hadn’t noticed the incoming threat—

Or maybe... as if he didn’t care.

’DIE, YOU MONSTER!’

Idion roared in his head, filled with fury, his sword just inches away from Raven’s throat.

PHUCK!

But before he could close the distance any further, an arrow, brimming with mana— pierced his head.

PHUCK–! PHUCK–!

PHUCK–! PHUCK–! PHUCK–!

And in less than a second, a barrage of mana-infused arrows followed, stabbing into him from every direction, ripping through his body like he was nothing.

Right now... Idion look like a pin cushion full of needles.

Then—

THUD-

Everyone watched as his body hit the ground, blood pouring out and staining the grass beneath him a deep, violent red.

Raven glanced at Idion’s corpse that was just a step away from him.

Arrows were lodged in his head, chest, neck— his entire body was riddled with them.

And in that moment, everyone knew... Idion was out. He was eliminated.

Raven shrugged his shoulders before looking back at Ervin again.

"My teammates aren’t that half bad after all, huh."

He mumbled, a sly smile on his face.

Then... Raven looked at Sean’s team members one by one.

They were all pale as fuck. Looks like no one was planning on ambushing him again.

’That’s nice.’

Raven’s mood got better and he pointed at Ervin again with his sword.

Then opening his mouth—

"Come."

Raven commanded Ervin with a devilish smirk.
