Chapter 363: Too Big of A Bonk?
Rael approached Alcetas, who was simply lying on the ground with a smile.
Did I hit him too hard?
That didn’t seem to be the case, as moments later, Alcetas vanished into smoke and reappeared right beside Rael.
He seemed unscathed, but the amusement on his face was slightly concerning.
"Are you a masochist?" Rael couldn’t help but ask.
However, Alcetas completely ignored him and posed a question of his own.
"How much do you know about us? Or rather, our goal here?"
"Hmm... I’m pretty lost on your goal. You came here to find the man who escaped an unknown realm, then you switched to wanting to find the Depths. And now... I’m really not sure," Rael replied flatly. "That Shadow Creation machine, what is it really?"
It seemed like Alcetas was in a jolly mood, since he decided to answer, even if vaguely.
"It creates shadows of existing people. It’s a counterpart to one’s existence, just the complete opposite version. If you are good, your shadow will be evil. If you like dogs, your shadow will like cats," Alcetas said with a chuckle and adjusted his posture once more.
"But your shadow, on the other hand, has untapped potential."
That perked up Rael’s curiosity, but before he could ask about it, Alcetas shot forward and appeared in front of Rael in the blink of an eye.
But once again, his speed was pitiful, so Rael, with the Supreme Beast Bloodline’s adaptivity, was able to evade Alcetas’s attack with ease and strike him straight in the chest, knocking the wind out of him.

"Sun Cores are very innocent-looking items, but when there are a lot of them, they can power even the biggest of creations," Alcetas said, rising to his feet again. "But because of your impatience, Petra and Vistorian had to sacrifice themselves to fill the gap to make sure our plans proceeded smoothly."
"Sucks to be you," Rael remarked. "But you’re oddly talkative. Is there something you want to tell me, Alcetas?"
A moment of silence descended, followed by Alcetas taking a few steps forward, then stopping right in front of Rael.
A trickle of blood ran down from the corner of his mouth, but he ignored it and spoke.
"Solenne wants your identity."
The moment he uttered those words, Rael’s eyes widened.
"She wants what now?"
Instead of an answer, Rael got a punch straight to the forehead.
As he hurtled through the air, Alcetas dashed forward and sent a downward kick straight at Rael’s neck.
But rather than severing his neck, the kick bounced off as if it had hit a trampoline.

"I’m getting mixed signals here." Rael rubbed his red forehead. "Why does she want my identity? How is she even going to go about taking my identity?"
He narrowed his eyes. "More importantly... why, of all people, are you the one being so cooperative?"
A faint smile appeared on Alcetas’s face.
"Am I really being cooperative? Or am I just feeding you information to weaken your mind?"
Suddenly, Rael felt a sharp pain shoot through his body, and in the next moment, his hands and feet were bound by thick chains.

"You are very emotional," Alcetas remarked, stepping closer. "Instead of using your powers to move forward, you are shackling yourself to emotions. Why the need for love when you have power? Why the need for mere countries when you can take over entire planets with sheer force alone?"
Their gazes met, and he continued.
"Out of all the people I’ve met, or rather, those who had such extraordinary gifts, you are the most disappointing, Rael."
"I don’t really care," Rael replied and exuded a slight pulse from his chest, causing the chains binding him to shatter.
<Mental Integrity: 2599% → 2529%>
"But what I do care about is the thing you mentioned earlier. What do you mean she wants to steal my identity?" Rael asked.
"You did grow stronger. I’ll acknowledge that. And if we were to fight, then it would take a very long time to determine the winner," Alcetas said, extending his palm. "So let’s make it interesting."
Immediately, the arena shrunk inward until eventually, it was the size of a small room.
Alcetas summoned two chairs and a table. He sat on one, gesturing for Rael to take the other.
Rael was skeptical, but he sat down nonetheless.
Right after, two dice materialized and hovered slightly above the table. One was black, the other, white.
"We roll the dice. Highest total gets to ask a question. No lies allowed," Alcetas explained, tilting his head. "So what do you say, Rael? Do you want to play this game with me?"
Rael’s brows furrowed, but he soon nodded.
If Alcetas were to lie, then Rael would know.
In the same manner, Alcetas likely had his own way of figuring out whether Rael was lying or not.
So after getting confirmation, a smile appeared on Alcetas’s face.
"Do you want to roll first?" Alcetas asked.
"Sure," Rael replied and extended his hand.
Soon after, the dice floated over and landed on the table.
They felt like any ordinary dice, so after a moment of hesitation, he tossed them on the table.
They spun around until eventually, they landed on a few numbers, revealing his total.
5 and 3.
8 in total.
It wasn’t the best, but it was definitely not the worst.
Alcetas picked the dice up and tossed them with a bit more power than Rael did.
However...
"Pfft..."
1 and 1.
2 in total.
"I suppose my luck isn’t as great as yours," Alcetas said with a sigh, then met Rael’s gaze.
"Ask your question."
Rael paused, then spoke. "Why does she want my identity?"
"I haven’t the faintest clue," Alcetas replied, causing Rael’s brows to furrow.
"What the fuck was the point in bringing it up then?" Rael asked with a scoff.
Alcetas pointed at the dice.
"If you want to ask a question, then roll the dice."
