Chapter 253: Chapter 253: His Irritable Mood

Lily Turner originally wanted to go home, but she was stopped by Callix Linton. She thought Amelia Linton might still be at the house and hadn’t left, so she felt it was a good idea to hide at Callix’s place for a while.

"Grandpa! Please don’t tell Easton about today’s events. He doesn’t know that the medication issue is related to his mother." On the way to Callix’s place, Lily suddenly remembered what had happened earlier and seriously reminded Callix. )

"Grandpa! Don’t tell Easton that I’m here at your place. Let’s see when he manages to find me." Wasn’t he angry and unwilling to see her? Well, let him wander around outside. She didn’t want to see him now either.

She took her phone out of her pocket and set it to silent mode before tossing it into her bag.

Such an understanding and good child. His ignorant daughter was really making a mess, he must protect this sensible and obedient girl for his grandson.

Easton gazed at the blue sky outside, but his mind was filled with images of Lily. He ran a hand through his hair in frustration.

She could have sent a text if she didn’t want to call, but not a single word came from her.

"Girl! Thank you!"

Seeing the smile on Lily’s face, Callix felt all the heaviness in his heart dissipate. "Little girl! You’re such a clever spirit!"

She could tell earlier that the old man was already quite distressed.

"Alright! We’ll test that brat together." Callix didn’t know there was any unpleasantness between Easton and Lily. Hearing Lily’s suggestion, he thought she wanted to play a game of hide and seek with Easton and happily agreed without thinking much.

He opened the window, letting the cool breeze brush against his face.

Meanwhile, the test had already begun, but Easton Holmes, in his office at the Military Department, was completely unaware. He was handling military affairs but wasn’t fully focused, occasionally glancing at the phone on his desk.

Hearing this, Callix tilted his head in surprise to look at Lily. The surprise only lasted for a moment, and then it was quickly replaced by being touched and delighted.

Just like that, Lily walked into Callix’s home for the second time. Once inside, a thought suddenly flashed through her mind.

"Mr. Linton, there’s no need to be so polite." Lily suddenly put away her serious expression and replaced it with an exceedingly lighthearted and joyful smile.

Seeing Callix not only didn’t question her but also happily agreed, Lily mischievously hummed to herself: Hmph! Easton Holmes! Today you’ll face the test!

Easton irritably threw the pen he was holding onto the desk and looked at his phone resting not far away. He got up and walked to the window.

This was what Lily thought, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it to Callix directly. She wasn’t afraid of Callix scolding her, but she didn’t want him to be troubled by their issues.

That girl is really infuriating. He hadn’t returned for a day and a night, yet she didn’t even call him.

Grandfather and granddaughter walked towards the house, laughing and joking along the way.

She hanged her bag on the coat rack by the door, not even glancing at it, and followed Callix into the living room.

What on earth does she mean by this? Is she trying to put him on hold?

He sighed deeply towards the window, then turned back to his desk, picked up the phone, and strode out of his office.
