Chapter 234: Chapter 234: You, as a man, shouldn’t be prying into such matters.

As the car stopped at the restaurant entrance, Alice Turner suddenly realized a problem: what if Lily Turner gets recognized while eating inside?

The two sisters quickly devised a plan: Lily Turner would wait in the car, while Alice Turner went into the restaurant to buy the food. They would then take it home to eat.

Taking advantage of the time when Alice Turner went into the restaurant to buy food, Lily Turner quickly took out her phone from her pocket and sent a message to Easton Holmes.

"I’m staying at my sister’s place for two days. Don’t look for me!"

Considering her limited understanding of him, she knew that if he didn’t see her at home, he would definitely call looking for her. So she took the initiative to inform him of her whereabouts.

Shortly after the message was sent, Easton Holmes called Lily Turner back. Seeing the number displayed on her phone, she hesitated for a brief moment before finally deciding to answer the call.

"Why did you run off to your sister’s place? Does your sister need you for something?" Easton Holmes asked anxiously, even before Lily Turner had a chance to speak.

When he left the house in the morning, she was sound asleep. Remembering how exhausted she was last night, he couldn’t bring himself to wake her up and didn’t call her in the morning either, wanting her to rest a little longer.

It was almost lunchtime, and just as he was about to call her, she unexpectedly sent him a message.

Lily Turner instinctively shook her head, then realized she was on the phone, and the person on the other end couldn’t see her. She quickly spoke up, "It’s not that my sister needs me for something, I need her for something."

She had a lot to talk about with her sister. She didn’t want to return to that home for the time being since she had been forcibly driven out.

"What do you need from your sister?"

And she wanted to stay for two days; it was clear she was deliberately avoiding him.

Easton Holmes hadn’t been home since leaving in the morning and was unaware of what had happened there. Upon hearing she planned to stay at Alice Turner’s place for two days, he immediately thought that she intended to avoid him.

This was a situation he couldn’t accept. She was his wife, and it wasn’t good for her to always be thinking of avoiding him. There was no positive aspect to this in any regard.

Lily Turner paused, then responded, "It’s women’s business, you, a big man, don’t pry into it."

He still didn’t know she had been driven out by his mother. If he knew, he wouldn’t be this calm. She had witnessed him argue with his mother before.

"Pry into it?"

Easton Holmes seemed to only catch those three words, repeating them softly; he deliberately raised his tone, as if questioning something, or perhaps expressing dissatisfaction to the person on the other end of the line.

Upon hearing this, Lily Turner wearily rubbed her forehead, "Easton Holmes! Can you not intentionally nitpick on specific words I say?"

"No, I can’t!"

Just as Lily Turner finished speaking, Easton Holmes resolutely replied with these two words.

Upon hearing this, Lily Turner sighed, "I was just letting you know, as for what you think, that’s up to you. I can’t control you anyway."

With that, she directly hung up the phone, without caring how the man on the other end might react.

Shortly after hanging up, Easton Holmes called again, but this time Lily Turner didn’t answer. She ended the call and simultaneously turned off her phone.

At last, she could finally have some peace. Lily Turner tossed the now-off phone into her bag, leaned sideways against the car seat, her eyes unfocused as she gazed at the restaurant entrance.
