Chapter 228: Chapter 228: Save Your Energy
The next day, Lily Turner was woken up by a loud banging on the door. As she opened her bleary eyes, she realized Easton Holmes was no longer in bed.
BANG!
Someone outside, possibly waiting too long and losing patience, slammed the door open and stormed in.
Instinctively, Lily turned her head toward the bedroom door and saw Amelia Linton angrily striding towards her. Even before she reached the bed, her furious words had already hit Lily like a slap, "Lily Turner! How dare you sleep on my son’s bed? Get up at once!"
As she spoke, Amelia was already at the bedside, not hesitating to bend down and yank Lily out of bed.
"Ow!"
After the exhausting ordeal last night, being pulled so roughly by Amelia made Lily cry out in discomfort.
"Aunt! I can get up on my own, save your strength. You don’t look like a strongwoman." She seemed like a delicate woman, but her strength was surprising and must have been fueled by intense anger towards her.
Lily wanted to shake off Amelia’s grasp, but she had no energy left in her, and this could only be blamed on her husband.
After hearing Lily’s words, Amelia released her grip on Lily’s hand, not just because of what Lily said, but because she noticed the marks on Lily’s body.
As someone experienced, Amelia understood perfectly well what those marks on Lily’s body meant.
It seemed her son’s physical and mental health were more than normal, exceeding her expectations.
She wasn’t worried about not having a grandchild to hold, but her grandchild couldn’t be born from this woman.
With that thought, Amelia suddenly turned and quickly walked out of the room, as if something urgent had come to mind.
Lily did not have time to speculate on why Amelia suddenly left. Once she was sure Amelia had gone far, she quickly got up and sat properly.
She reached for the clothes on the bedside table, dressed at lightning speed, and headed to the bathroom.
Click-clack!
While Lily was washing up in the bathroom, Amelia returned, heels clicking on the floor. Upon entering, she noticed Lily was no longer on the bed and instinctively turned to leave the room.
At the door, she suddenly heard noise from the bathroom and stopped in her tracks by instinct.
After staring at the bathroom door for a while, Amelia changed her course and walked over to the sofa, where she sat down waiting for Lily to come out.
Soon, the sound of water stopped, and Lily opened the door and stepped out.
"You! Come over here, we need to talk!"
Hearing Amelia’s voice from the sofa, Lily frowned with a headache, but despite the headache, she walked over to where Amelia was seated.
Lily sat at a place slightly distanced from Amelia, and after sitting down, she looked at Amelia with a calm expression, "Aunt, just say what you want to say."
There was no need to guess; she knew Amelia wanted to talk about driving her away from her son, or possibly kicking her out of the house.
She had already noticed that Amelia’s approach today was fiercer than the previous two times, and she needed to be cautious or she wouldn’t know what hit her.
