Chapter 166: Chapter 166: There’s No Harm in Saying Some Things

After returning home from the Military Department, Easton Holmes and Lily Turner went back to the bedroom.

Due to the special time, she felt a bit listless and sprawled on the bedroom sofa to watch TV as soon as they walked in.

He glanced at her and went to the bathroom with the bathrobe. Just as he was halfway through his shower, he suddenly heard her calling him to answer the phone from outside the door.

Upon knowing it was Ryan Taylor who called, Easton Holmes instantly guessed the situation. Using the excuse of inconveniences while in the middle of a shower, he asked Lily Turner, who was standing outside the door, to take the call for him.

"Tell him I have something very important to discuss, and he should call me back after his shower." Getting ready to sleep this early after a shower? That’s not his good buddy’s usual lifestyle, something unusual must have happened.

After Ryan Taylor finished speaking, he hung up the phone, waiting with hope for Easton Holmes to call him back, praying that his good buddy wouldn’t keep him waiting too long.

Lily Turner had no idea what happened and genuinely thought Ryan Taylor had some urgent matter for Easton Holmes. She knocked on the bathroom door with her other hand, "Your friend says he has something urgent, so you should come out and call him back quickly."

The word "quickly" was deliberately added by her, as the person on the other side of the phone sounded anxious, and she reported the situation truthfully.

"I know."

Without thinking, Easton Holmes knew what urgent matter Ryan Taylor was referring to. Earlier, when he saw Evelyn Taylor at the gathering, this thought had already crossed his mind.

After finishing his shower, he walked out of the bathroom.

Hearing movement from the bathroom, Lily Turner, who was curled up on the sofa watching TV, raised her head to take a look. Seeing Easton Holmes walking over, she gestured to the phone on the coffee table, "The phone is there. Go ahead and call your friend back, it seems like he’s in a hurry."

Having told him face-to-face, she finally felt her duty was done, allowing her to relax on the couch.

"Are you feeling unwell?"

Instead of addressing the phone, Easton Holmes went over and sat down beside Lily Turner.

She had lain down on the sofa as soon as they entered the room, her face pale and her spirits low. He assumed it was related to her period.

Lily Turner always had this condition during her period—lethargic, sleepy, sometimes dizzy—and she didn’t think there was anything unusual about it.

"I’m not unwell." She shook her head, too embarrassed to state the true situation; she could only say this to him.

Her whole demeanor screamed discomfort, yet she outright denied it.

Easton Holmes let out a barely audible sigh, resting a hand naturally on Lily Turner’s stomach, which she hadn’t expected, causing her body to freeze momentarily.

"If you’re unwell, just tell me. We’re married now, there’s no need to feel embarrassed about certain things." Her stomach felt cool to the touch, and though inexperienced, he didn’t know if this was normal.

Perhaps due to the recent hot shower, Easton Holmes’s hand felt warm, and this feeling of warmth spread from Lily Turner’s stomach to her heart.

So warm! So comfortable!

This sensation made her feel intoxicated, and she wished to hold onto this feeling of warmth forever.

"I know, go call your friend quickly." Though reluctant to let go of the warm hand on her stomach, she couldn’t help but push it away; his friend was still waiting for his call.
