Chapter 158: Chapter 158: Secrets of Heaven Must Not Be Revealed

After Easton Holmes added the final sentence, he sat down directly in his seat, completely unconcerned about whether his comrades and brothers understood or believed him.

"Is that all?"

Jaxon Dyer was planning to keep listening, but he saw that Easton Holmes was already seated steadily, showing no intention of continuing.

"Easton! You explained it way too simply, didn’t you?"

Not only Jaxon Dyer thought this, but everyone present did too, though none dared to say it aloud.

They were told they could be informal today, but their usual habit gave them an inexplicable reverence when facing their stern captain.

Easton Holmes retorted with a question: "Do you like complex stories? If so, you’re putting me in a difficult spot. You should know I don’t have that skill."

Their story is their own secret, and no one else is allowed to share in it.

"You... never mind! I’ll ask Lily." Jaxon Dyer knew asking Easton Holmes further was pointless, so he pinned his hope on Lily Turner, "Lily! Tell us your legendary story."

Legendary story?!

Lily Turner’s lips twitched abruptly. When she looked up at Jaxon Dyer, she had already regained her usual composure and wore a polite smile, "Easton already explained, I have nothing to add."

She was really afraid he’d say something out of line, thank goodness he didn’t. She almost stood up in panic to stop him.

Easton Holmes knew Lily Turner wouldn’t say anything more, so when Jaxon asked her, he wasn’t nervous at all, continuing to sit steadily in his chair.

"Easton! How did you teach Lily to support you so unwaveringly?"

Though Jaxon Dyer spoke in jest, he genuinely wanted to know. Lily Turner seemed especially obedient, and it was apparent she listened to his good brother.

But why doesn’t his own wife listen to him?

She’s always opposing him or slacking off, yet he can’t bring himself to scold or beat her.

He really wanted to learn from his good brother how he managed to have his wife so compliant right after getting married.

Easton Holmes smirked mysteriously, "Secrets can’t be revealed!"

"You’re so obnoxious!" Jaxon Dyer gave a disgruntled look at the pretending-to-be-mysterious Easton Holmes, picked up the drink-filled glass in front of him, "Let’s all raise our glasses to toast our captain and his wife."

Whoosh!

Just as Jaxon’s words fell, the comrades present stood up with their drinks, turning to face Easton Holmes and Lily Turner.

Seeing this, Lily Turner instinctively stood up too, her eyes full of confusion.

Is this gathering, this scene, perhaps a celebration of her and his wedding?

As Lily Turner wondered in her heart, Easton Holmes also stood up from his seat. As soon as he did, everyone raised their glasses high.

"To the captain and his wife’s newlywed bliss! Wishing you quickly welcome kids!" The comrades, used to chanting slogans, showed great vigor while toasting, with loud voices, uniform and disciplined.

As everyone drank, Lily Turner leaned slightly to Easton Holmes beside her and asked in a voice only the two could hear, "What’s really going on here?"
