When they returned to the compound, Lily Turner and Easton Holmes went to the supermarket together. Once inside, they made a beeline for the food section with a clear objective in mind.

In no time, they filled the shopping cart to the brim.

"Wait for me a moment, I need to grab something."

Just as they were about to check out and leave, Lily suddenly remembered the most important item she had forgotten to buy. She turned back towards the shopping area.

When she returned, she had two packs of sanitary pads in her hand. Seeing the man waiting at the checkout, she placed them on the counter with some embarrassment.

As Lily had approached earlier, Easton had already spotted what she was holding with his sharp eyes. Seeing her look embarrassed, he didn’t say anything and quietly paid the bill.

After checking out, they left the supermarket and went back home.

After arranging the purchased items and her luggage together with Lily, Easton then grabbed the bag of sunflower seeds and peanuts and left the house.

As Lily was about to take the sanitary pads to the bathroom, Easton suddenly returned. Seeing him enter, she quickly hid the sanitary pads behind her back, "Why are you back again? Did you forget something?"

Speaking, she subconsciously tightened her grip on the sanitary pads, as if they might fall to the ground if she didn’t hold them tight.

"For the next few days, don’t worry about cooking. Just eat from the canteen for now," Easton told her, glancing at the hand Lily had hidden behind her before turning to leave.

Hearing the door close, Lily finally reacted, her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment, and she felt a warm feeling flow through her heart.

Warm and comfortable.

This time, Lily didn’t contradict Easton. Following his advice, she didn’t wash vegetables or cook, instead waiting for him to bring lunch back at noon.

At twelve o’clock, the doorbell rang.

Thinking it was Easton, Lily ran to open the door, but instead of him, she saw Luke Crowe holding a thermal container.

"Sister-in-law! Chief Holmes has urgent business and can’t return. He asked me to bring you lunch."

Luke explained as he handed the thermal container to Lily.

"Thank you!"

Receiving the container, she thanked the man standing at the door.

Luke smiled, "Sister-in-law, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way."

"Goodbye!"

Lily freed a hand to wave goodbye to Luke, and once he left, she took the container inside and closed the door.

Having only eaten half an egg for breakfast and then dealing with quite a bit of commotion, Lily was already famished. She quickly opened the thermal container.

Is he treating her like a pig? He actually packed the container full.

There’s so much food, she couldn’t finish it all in two days.

Lily sighed at the fully packed thermal container, went to the kitchen, and fetched a small bowl and spoon. She scooped some food into the bowl and began to eat.

After satisfying her hunger, Lily walked out of the house and took a half-hour stroll in the courtyard before returning inside to lie on the sofa for a nap.

Just as she was dozing off, the phone on the coffee table woke her up.

Rubbing her sleepy eyes, Lily reached for the phone on the coffee table, brought it to her eyes to see, and answered the call.

"Mom! What’s up?"

The call was from Sophia Wood, and as soon as Lily answered, she asked this because her mom never called unless it was something important.
