"Wh-Where are you taking me?"

Lily Turner looked warily at the man driving, a responsible place? Could it be that he’s taking me to the hospital for surgery?

Easton Holmes kept his eyes on the road ahead. After a while, he leisurely answered Lily with a single word, "Civil Affairs Bureau!"

As he spoke, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

"Civil Affairs Bureau?! What are you taking me there for?" Lily always thought Easton was taking her to the hospital, and never dared to think in this direction. She was particularly surprised to hear Easton say he was taking her to the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Easton turned to look at Lily, who seemed shocked, and his once-smiling lips fell, "What do you think?"

He didn’t answer her directly, instead tossing the question back to her.

A few minutes later, Lily suddenly remembered something and turned back toward Easton.

Her sudden movement startled him as he was driving, and he quickly glanced at her, "What is it?"

"Turn around at the next intersection," Lily pointed at the upcoming intersection.

Easton glanced at her again, his face filled with disapproval, "Why?"

He neither turned the steering wheel nor reduced the speed of the car.

"Aren’t you taking me to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a marriage certificate? I need to go back and get my things. I didn’t bring anything when I left." Lily showed her empty hands. She was dragged out by him and didn’t have the chance to bring anything.

Not to mention her ID and household registration, she hadn’t even brought her keys, phone, or anything. She needed to rely on him to let her in when they got back.

This was her chance to see how he managed to open the door earlier.

Listening to this, Easton realized that Lily just needed to go home to get her things, not because she had changed her mind. He glanced at her.

He turned the steering wheel, changed lanes, and turned the car around, quickly driving towards her apartment.

Ten minutes later, the car came to a steady stop at their destination.

"Grab your stuff and come down right away."

"Aren’t you coming up with me?" Seeing that Easton had no intention of going up with her, Lily, who was about to open the door to get out, turned to look at him. "I didn’t bring my keys; you need to come up and open the door for me."

Easton was momentarily stunned but quickly snapped out of it. He opened the car door and got out, accompanying Lily into the apartment.

Lily intended to learn from Easton how to open the door, but she couldn’t even see what happened before he had already opened it and pulled her, surprised, inside.
