Rabbit Must Die -
Chapter 784 - 380 Wenchang Palace_1
Chapter 784: Chapter 380 Wenchang Palace_1
Now, returning to Wenqu Palace, the only old classmate left was Mutou, and suddenly, that sense of everything and everyone having changed made Qin Shou’s heart ache. But seeing Mutou, he was still very happy.
Before Mutou could finish, Qin Shou rushed over and gave Mutou a big hug, laughing and saying, "Stop the stutter, you sound like a train. Just heard you reading, what’s the matter? Haven’t you finished that book from last time yet?"
Mutou gave an awkward smile, knowing his own speech was slow, so he decided to just write instead.
Qin Shou knew that Mutou’s stutter wasn’t a problem with his mouth, but with his soul. Even when he wasn’t speaking out loud, just sending a message telepathically, he still stuttered.
So, writing was actually the fastest method.
But the next moment, Qin Shou found it hard to laugh: "Master hasn’t come back in a long time."
Qin Shou asked, "Where did he go?"
Mutou shook his head: "I don’t know, Master told me to wait for him here."
Qin Shou nodded, although somewhat worried, he wasn’t particularly anxious. After all, the great wars between the human and demon races, the previous and the current Heavenly Courts, had already ended, and the battlefield for the Black Mirror invasion wasn’t here. Besides, Wenqu Star Monarch is a civil official; his literary achievements are indeed high, but those are talents for governing the world, for teaching, not for waging war.
Real battles are the affair of military officers; it’s not his place to take the field.
If he ever had to go to battle, it would mean that Heavenly Court was nearly finished.
Not going to the battlefield, the likelihood of danger is not great.
Qin Shou said, "We haven’t seen each other for a long time, shall we have something to eat together?"
Mutou’s eyes immediately lit up!
Just as they were about to go inside, Qin Shou suddenly noticed that a corner of a flying eave on the Wenqu Palace was missing!
Mutou wrote: "People from the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court came over, wanting to claim half of the Wenqu Palace. I didn’t agree and got into a fight. I was afraid they would damage our master’s place, so I led them elsewhere to fight. But this corner of the eave still got damaged."
Remembering his experience at the doorway of the Kitchen God, Qin Shou somewhat understood. It seemed the seemingly calm alliance of the two races was, in fact, turbulent beneath the surface, with constant unrest.
"Damn it, I don’t know what those Saints are doing, not hastening to unite, but instead bickering! Will they only realize the severity of the situation when the Black Mirror comes killing their way?" Qin Shou muttered angrily.
Afterward, Qin Shou took out some food and wine and started to drink with Mutou, reminiscing about old times and sharing his experiences from the recent past...
Mutou’s experiences were rather simple; he spent his days reading, reciting, and squatting at the entrance, hoping for their master or classmates to return.
Then there was that great battle, but since Mutou won, Qin Shou didn’t need to avenge him or anything.
Just as they were talking, a loud boom echoed from afar, followed by an angry roar, "Don’t push people too far!"
Qin Shou found the voice vaguely familiar, then slapped his thigh and said, "Isn’t that Wenchang Star Monarch?"
Mutou nodded.
Then Qin Shou saw a figure ascend towards the sky. Opposite him, another figure rose to meet him in the air, and both stood aloft with their auras escalating sharply! In an instant, they reached the peak state of a Heavenly Immortal!
Wenchang Star Monarch’s strength reached its peak and then stopped, but the person opposite him laughed heartily, "With this level of strength, you think you’re worthy of living in Wenchang Palace?!"
During this exchange, the power of the person opposite shot up in an instant to that of a Golden Immortal, and it kept soaring: Level One, Level Two, Three...Level Nine!
Wenchang Star Monarch’s momentum was instantly suppressed!
"Wenchang’s fortune is rising, and the righteous Qi endures!" Wenchang Star Monarch roared. The entire Wenchang Palace burst forth a stream of white righteous Qi, which poured into Wenchang Star Monarch’s body. His power instantly broke through to the Golden Immortal of Level Nine, and only then could he stand opposite the other without falling.
Wenchang Star Monarch rebuked angrily, "Barbarians like you also aspire to take over Wenchang Palace? Do you even recognize a few characters? Can you explicate a shred of reason? Do you even know what is the immense, righteous Qi of Heaven and Earth?"
"Quit that useless chatter! I am a great general of the Demon Clan, Bronze Eagle at that! I don’t believe in Heaven and Earth, only in strength. I am stronger than you, thus what’s yours becomes mine! You must do as I say!" the opposing person said scornfully.
Qin Shou took a closer look and finally saw clearly that the fellow opposite was a bird-headed demon with bronze wings on its back, with the key point being that its head was covered with white feathers!
Seeing this fellow, Qin Shou suddenly thought of a type of bird he had seen back on Earth—the Bald Eagle!
Then he thought of M Country which this bird symbolized!
And then he remembered the ancestors who had died in the great war between his motherland and M Country...
Qin Shou smacked his lips and stood up.
Mutou quickly wrote, "Do you want to help?"
Qin Shou nodded, "Hmm."
Mutou: "Why?"
However, by the time Mutou finished writing, Qin Shou had already charged into the sky, laughing loudly, "Hey, this bird looks quite plump!"
Bronze Eagle and Wenchang Star Monarch, hearing this, subconsciously turned their heads to look over and saw a rabbit.
Wenchang Star Monarch’s eyes brightened, but then he wryly smiled and instinctively turned his head away.
Clearly, Wenchang Star Monarch also remembered that back when Qin Shou was studying at Wenqu Palace, the disciples of his Wenchang Palace had had run-ins with this rabbit... and things had not turned out pleasantly in the end.
Perhaps in his eyes, Qin Shou was merely flying up to enjoy the commotion.
Bronze Eagle did not recognize Qin Shou. Although Qin Shou had severely beaten Luwu, stripped him naked, left him with bumps all over his head and thrown him onto the street, and even beaten Dijun’s daughter Longci, it had happened too recently. Furthermore, the Immortal Realm was too vast.
As mentioned earlier, Wenqu Palace was not located in Tianyong City but atop Shushan, within its own small space.
Therefore, Bronze Eagle was completely unaware of the outside fight.
When Qin Shou brought disaster upon the Heavenly Court of the Demon Clan, Bronze Eagle had not yet been revived, so he was even less likely to recognize Qin Shou.
At this moment, Bronze Eagle saw a fat, chubby rabbit flying into the air and immediately found it amusing, pointing at Qin Shou and asking, "What did you say was quite plump?"
In Bronze Eagle’s eyes, the rabbit in front of him was just a rabbit... as far as he knew, even rabbits that had become immortals couldn’t prevent their transformation.
Therefore, seeing an untransformed rabbit, he naturally took it for a little monster.
So, he didn’t think that the bird Qin Shou had referred to as being plump was himself, which led to his question.
Qin Shou cocked his head and looked at Bronze Eagle, asking, "Are there any other birds around here?"
That’s when it dawned on Bronze Eagle that he was the only bird!
Upon this realization, Bronze Eagle became furiously angry, "Damn rabbit, you’re courting death!"
Witnessing this, Wenchang Star Monarch heaved a sigh and said, "Rabbit, this affair is not for you youngsters to meddle in, withdraw quickly."
The windows of Wenchang Palace were open, and a group of disciples from Wenchang Palace poked their heads out to join in, "Rabbit, stop causing trouble. You can’t contribute to a battle of this level. Hurry up and leave!"
