Chapter 766: Chapter 362: Killing Our Way Back_1

Moon Toad said, "I can take him away."

After speaking, a point of starlight flew out of Moon Toad’s brow, landing on the moon. In the next moment, the moon let out a thunderous roar and began to shrink.

When the moon had shrunk to a certain size, some figures separated out from it. Qin Shou took a closer look and saw that it was indeed Chang’e, Jade Rabbit, Yibing, and Yaoji, among others!

Everyone had originally witnessed the moon undergoing changes and prepared for battle, surrounding Chang’e to protect her, ready to fight to the death.

But when they saw Qin Shou, they each rubbed their eyes and then cried out, "I!"

Looking at these familiar faces, Qin Shou’s suppressed emotions finally eased significantly. When his gaze settled on Chang’e, and he saw her delicate, comely, literally captivating figure, he completely buried deep inside himself all the worries, repression, and other negative feelings.

It was not that he stopped worrying, but in front of his family, he didn’t want to bring back those emotions and affect his family’s mood.

He could shoulder the falling sky, but until it crushed him to death, he didn’t want his family to be affected in the slightest—that was Qin Shou’s principle in life!

"Yu’er, you’re back," Chang’e, standing with tears in her eyes and asking in a trembling voice because of her excitement, said.

Qin Shou nodded slightly and said, "Mhm."

Then everyone else very consciously went off to look at the scenery, leaving the two alone.

Without waiting for Chang’e to ask, Qin Shou first jumped into her arms, lying on those familiar peaks, enjoying the warmest and most tranquil peace in the world.

Seeing this, Chang’e sighed and said no more.

The two of them said nothing, and after leaning on each other for a while, they said in unison, "Let’s go, let’s go back."

Then, sharing a smile, Qin Shou called over the Eight Trigrams Furnace to begin the journey back.

The Eight Trigrams Furnace let out a cry, opened the lid of the furnace, and packed all those fellows inside. Qin Shou and Chang’e sat on top of the Eight Trigrams Furnace, watching the stars move backward, chatting about what had happened during their time apart.

Qin Shou narrated his own story as if it were a joke, skimming over all the dangers.

Chang’e talked about her own life in a very mundane way, but Qin Shou could still feel the hardship behind that simplicity. Especially when the moon suddenly flew away and everyone panicked, not knowing what was happening... Then later they encountered exiles in the boundless stars of the universe, and the invasion of the Black Mirror, each of which was a cataclysm!

If Qin Shou had not seen the world and its cruelty, and the way it kills without batting an eye, he wouldn’t know any better. But having seen it, he understood just how dangerous the situations Chang’e and the others had faced were. Their lives were definitely not as simple and mundane as Chang’e said.

However, neither of them exposed the lies that were meant well by each other. They simply sat together, chatting casually as if they were back on that large stone at the entrance to the cave, under the osmanthus tree, looking up at the heavenly palace and the Earthly Immortal Realm, no different from those days.

Both were thoroughly enjoying the tranquil harmony...

Inside the Eight Trigrams Furnace, Fat Cat smacked his lips and said, "I’m beginning to understand why this Rabbit is going through so much trouble for this woman."

Chongba asked, "Why?"

Fat Cat looked at Chongba as if he was an idiot and said, "You don’t know?"

Chongba tilted his head and said, "Should I?"

Fat Cat nodded and said, "It seems, your dad is definitely not a dragon. At least you’re not one!"

Chongba, with a head full of question marks, asked, "What does any of this have to do with whether my dad is a dragon or whether I’m a dragon?"

At this moment, Moon Toad spoke eerily, "Dragons are naturally lustful, yet you, facing the beauty of Chang’e, had no reaction whatsoever, your mind as blank as a sheet of paper. Do you really think you’re a dragon?"

Chongba was at a loss for words....

Eight Trigrams Furnace said, "Don’t talk nonsense; Chongba is both dragon and turtle, but I guess the turtle side is more prominent. Turtles are more Buddhistic!"

Chongba: "@#¥..."

The journey back was much longer than the one to get there, the key being that the astroplate was of no use.

During this time, Qin Shou, aside from spending part of his time with Chang’e, sat on a meteorite tied to the back of the Eight Trigrams Furnace and delved into the future path of Martial Immortality for the rest of the time.

Although Nan Wuzui had developed the path of Martial Immortality into one that allowed one to fight against several Overlords at once, Qin Shou was well aware that in this world, all beings beneath Saints were mere ants.

No matter how strong an ant is, it’s still an ant; when the ultimate battle of Saints comes, they are of no use at all.

Initially, Qin Shou was opposed to any kind of war; to him, war was just something a bunch of people, stuffed and bored, fought over for world domination.

In the end, it was always the same few vested interests who benefited, while the vast majority of miserable people were the ones who truly suffered.

Furthermore, Qin Shou was also a lazy person; he really didn’t want to get involved in those conspiracy theories and big wars. He didn’t want to be a savior, nor did he want to be a great hero; he just wanted the simple comforts of a warm bed with his wife and children, drinks for friends when they visited, casual visits to friends’ homes, and a relaxed and comfortable life.

Of course, that was under the premise that he didn’t starve to death halfway through.

But now, Qin Shou had a reason he couldn’t avoid fighting for.

With Nan Wuzui ahead and Wu Gang behind, both had stayed to cover his retreat, one trapped in the Black Mirror, the other lost in the boundless stars of the universe, both with fates unknown.

Regardless of whether they were alive or dead, Qin Shou was determined to go back to the boundless stars of the universe, brave the Black Mirror again. His goal was simple: find the living or bring back the bodies, and then seek revenge!

After pondering along the way, Qin Shou organized the power he had unwittingly swallowed from countless others, not enough to form a huge Sky Deceiving Talisman yet, but he had still gained a lot.

His ravenous consumption had indeed allowed him a rudimentary and brute-force understanding of the runes, but it was far less effective than quietly contemplating and truly understanding them.

Now, he had twelve complete great path chains within him, six related to fire and six to ice; the rest could not form a complete chain. But Qin Shou wasn’t in a hurry. With the Black Mirror having invaded, there would be plenty of battles to come—he would have numerous opportunities to swallow more runes and enhance his cultivation base.

Decades later, they finally reached the spot where they had first encountered Fat Cat.

The hole that Fat Cat had emerged from was still there; they looked at each other, not sure what to do next.

Qin Shou said, "I’ll go first. Since Fat Cat managed to come out from here, we should be able to get back through!"

Finished speaking, Qin Shou was about to jump in.

Eight Trigrams Furnace said, "I’ll go with you. I should be the toughest one here, right?"

Qin Shou shook his head and replied, "You stay behind to bring them over later. I’ll go scout ahead; if it’s safe, we’ll all pass through. If not, I can still come back."

Qin Shou was full of confidence about this; after all, energy attacks were like feeding him, and with his Martial Celestial Eyes, his fists could break through any physical barrier.
