Rabbit Must Die
Chapter 760 - 356 Moon Toad_1

Chapter 760: Chapter 356 Moon Toad_1

Then, with a swift move, the Eight Trigrams Furnace tossed Fat Cat onto its back and, with Chongba in tow, they took off like a shot.

Zhongsong Daoist stood rooted to the spot for a long while, before cursing under his breath, "A bunch of lunatics!"

But in his eyes was nothing but envy. He once had brothers like that too; sadly, he had turned those brothers into enemies with his character... As times changed, if time could be reversed, he swore he would never betray his brothers again.

No matter what Zhongsong Daoist thought, the Eight Trigrams Furnace, with Fat Cat on its back and propelled by Chongba, moved extremely fast.

However, to the trio’s surprise, the Rabbit, having taken some unknown substance, was running faster and faster. Even with Chongba’s strength, in the absence of reverting to his ancestral form, he simply couldn’t catch up and could only watch as the Rabbit got farther and farther away!

If someone had been in front of him, they certainly would’ve seen the Rabbit’s condition. At that moment, he was muttering to himself, "Chang’e, you must be alright, Master, just hold on a bit longer, I’m coming!"

At this moment, Qin Shou’s forehead was already starting to turn red!

Meanwhile, near the Moon.

Chang’e had gathered all the little monsters inside the Moon Palace, and they were all huddled inside, looking up at the sky and shivering.

Chang’e was comforting everyone, saying, "Don’t be scared, don’t be scared... everything will be okay."

Meanwhile, streaks of lightning flashed across the sky!

Everyone screamed instinctively, frightened.

Yibing, Yaoji, and others had grown stronger over the years, but progress was limited in such a place. In the face of this kind of battle, their strength was almost nonexistent.

Despite that, several small Demon Lords who were once sheltered by Qin Shou still guarded the entrance of the Moon Palace. Each of them, clutching their useless weapons, stood on trembling legs, looking up at the sky and chanting in their hearts, "Die rather than retreat, die rather than retreat..."

It’s not that they lacked courage, but the strongest among them was only a Human Immortal, and any random lowly being in the sky was a Heavenly Immortal.

The vast disparity in strength couldn’t even be termed a chasm, nor could the difference between heaven and earth fully describe the distance between them.

Such a huge gap, simply exhaling from the opponents, would invoke a fear from the depths of their souls!

That was an instinctual reaction, the fear hailing from both body and soul.

So, their very presence here was already an incredible act of courage.

"Come in," said Chang’e.

Several of them shook their heads firmly, saying, "No, we won’t go in. We promised Lord Rabbit to protect the lady. They’ll have to step over our dead bodies to hurt you; otherwise, we won’t rest in peace even in death."

Hearing this, the group of demons inside the house exchanged glances, then a little one ran out and shouted, "Right! We can’t let down Lord Rabbit! He’s given us such a great home, with no hierarchy, no exploitation, a family where everyone is treated as family. We can’t betray him!"

Another little monster stood up and said, "Yeah, Lord Rabbit gave us Cultivation Techniques, food, clothing, and shelter, and usually didn’t ask much from us. Now that trouble has come, should we expect the lady to protect us?"

"Death is but death, let’s go for it!"

Then a swarm of demons burst out of the Moon Palace and fanned out to shield the outer court, while the weaker ones laid directly on the structures of the palace, as if using their bodies to fortify the palace itself, guarding Chang’e in the process.

Upon seeing this, Chang’e burst into tears and cried out, "Please come in! Please, it’s too dangerous out there!"

Sadly, no one came in, they all shouted, "Protect the lady!"

In the sky, black lightning zipped back and forth, turning any being attempting to enter the Moon into ashes. Yet more and more beings kept coming, and the black lightning began to struggle to keep up.

Just then, a giant hand descended with a slap, sending the black lightning flying away, followed by a completely black figure descending from the sky with a sneer, "This planet, is mine now!"

Having said that, the man was taken aback and exclaimed, "Huh? There are still ants? What use do they have, to die like this!"

After speaking, the man swept his hand broadly, pressing towards the Moon Palace!

Gurgle!

A strange noise arose from within the moon, followed by a burst of infinite lightning from the black lightning, instantly filling the entire sky with its brilliance!

All creatures attempting to land were blasted into debris!

Then, the omnipresent thunder converged on the black lightning, transforming into an osmanthus tree branch with a whoosh, thrusting towards the black-clad man!

Seeing this, the man cried out in shock, "How is this possible?"

Puff!

The black lightning pierced through the man’s skull, obliterating both form and spirit!

No sooner had the black-clad man died than another descended from the heavens. This newcomer had three heads and six arms, a face with green fangs, and appeared like a demon, yet there was a kind and benevolent Buddha face growing on the back of its head—clearly a dark incarnation of a Buddha!

"This star is not bad, it now belongs to me, Buddha!" the strange Buddha laughed heartily.

Just then, the black lightning struck again. The strange Buddha sneered and threw a bead directly at the black lightning!

Bang!

A loud explosion resounded, the black lightning dispersed, and the bead bounced back into the hands of the strange Buddha.

The strange Buddha said with a laugh, "Interesting, but that’s about all."

As he spoke, the strange Buddha took out a cloth bag from his pocket, gestured towards the lightning that came flying again, and the bag suddenly enlarged, swallowing the lightning in one gulp.

With a casual flick, the strange Buddha hung the bag on his waist and roared with laughter, "A mere half step to Great Golden Immortal dares to block my path? Truly ignorant of life and death!"

"Gugua!" Another croak sounded.

Before the strange Buddha could finish laughing, the ground slowly bulged, and then a huge frog crawled out from the depths of the earth. Squinting at the strange Buddha, it said nothing; its tongue shot out like lightning!

Thud!

The strange Buddha didn’t even have a chance to react, and was directly swept up by the tongue and pulled into the frog’s maw. The sound of crunching bones and screams echoed together.

Seeing this scene, numerous little monsters cried out in unison, "Madam, fall back!"

However, the frog glanced at them and then turned its head away, looking up at the sky and speaking in a human tongue, "The burrow behind me can serve as a hiding spot, go there."

On hearing this, the little monsters were overjoyed!

Chang’e bowed gratefully and said, "Thank you, previ..."

Before she could finish saying "predecessor," the frog sidestepped to avoid Chang’e’s thanks.

The frog gave Chang’e a meaningful look and said, "I cannot bear your bow, go now, there isn’t much time left."

Even though Chang’e didn’t understand the frog’s implication, she knew this wasn’t the time for niceties and quickly led the group of little monsters into the burrow.

No sooner had they entered than the burrow healed itself, as if nothing had ever happened here.
