Rabbit Must Die -

Chapter 721: Chapter 317: Dragon Turtle Shell_1
Reluctant Qin Shou glanced in the direction of the low mountain, the iron chains over there looked eerily strange, and who knows what else might be inside that black coffin.
Therefore, Qin Shou didn’t go over there but chose to explore the group of mountains to the south instead, preparing to probe this world to uncover whatever secrets it may hold.
Just as Qin Shou was about to head that way, the sound of the Eight Trigrams Furnace echoed from the direction of Throne Mountain: "Rabbit, come out quickly, we’re about to leave!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou’s eyes suddenly lit up!
Having run around in the Star Gate for over a week, he was already itching to get out for a breath of fresh air. Most importantly, Qin Shou was truly eager to see Chang’e, so he wished he could just burst through the Star Gate and then make the next leap.
After stepping out of the Black Demon Box, Qin Shou saw a light gradually entering in the distance, that was the exit of the Star Gate.
Chongba also woke up, hiding inside the Eight Trigrams Furnace, stealthily observing the outside.
"Rabbit, what do you think we’ll find outside this time?" asked the Eight Trigrams Furnace.
Qin Shou shook his head and said, "Don’t know, but it’s definitely nothing good. Every time we’ve gone out, we’ve never encountered anything good."
The Eight Trigrams Furnace nodded and said, "Can’t you say something nice for a change?"
Qin Shou immediately corrected himself: "A furnace as beautiful as a flower and as delicate as jade!"
Eight Trigrams Furnace: "..."
While they were talking, the Eight Trigrams Furnace had already charged out of the Star Gate.
The moment they came out, Qin Shou heard someone shouting, "Help!"
Qin Shou’s eyes widened in shock, but what he saw was a desolate expanse; there was no one around!
"Someone just shouted for help, did you hear it?" Qin Shou asked.
The Eight Trigrams Furnace replied, "Didn’t hear anything, you must be hallucinating."
Chongba scratched his head and said, "I didn’t hear it either, but I think I saw a turtle flying away in front of us."
Just then, the Eight Trigrams Furnace exclaimed in surprise, "Damn, there really is a furnace!"
Qin Shou looked around and frowned, "Where are the furnace and turtle you’re talking about? What are you two on about?"
As soon as Qin Shou said this, both the Eight Trigrams Furnace and Chongba felt that something was off, and after exchanging glances, they said in unison, "There’s a problem!"
"Let’s open the Star Gate and leave quickly; this place is too weird," Qin Shou said.
The Eight Trigrams Furnace nodded and immediately reopened the Star Gate, and the three dove in headfirst.
This segment of the Star Gate was very close; they hardly spent any time inside before they were out again.
However, the place where they emerged this time startled Qin Shou as well as the Eight Trigrams Furnace and Chongba; it was actually...
"The Southern Gate?!" the three exclaimed in unison.
What stood before the three was none other than the Southern Gate, which they were all too familiar with!
The Eight Trigrams Furnace immediately cursed: "Impossible! How the hell could the Southern Gate be here? After all the hard work we’ve done running around, have we just ended up back where we started?"
Chongba added, "It can’t be!"
Qin Shou snatched the astroplate and after a glance, the position clearly indicated on it was—the Southern Gate!
Qin Shou narrowed his eyes, then casually tossed the astroplate into the Eight Trigrams Furnace, looked around, and shouted, "Dammit, who the hell is playing pranks on me? If you have the guts, show yourself!"
The Eight Trigrams Furnace was taken aback, and asked, "What do you mean?"
Qin Shou said, "We’re definitely caught in something. It’s either an illusion or a formation. Either way, we’re not at the Southern Gate, that’s for sure. The reason is quite simple: the astroplate can only move in one direction, and if we’re moving through the astroplate, there’s no way we can go back the way we came. Unless the starry sky is round, and we’ve run a circle and come back. But do you believe that?"
The Eight Trigrams Furnace hurriedly picked up the astroplate to examine it closely, then slapped the lid of the furnace while cursing, "Dammit! There really is a problem!"
Chongba asked, "So what do we do now?"
Qin Shou replied, "I don’t know. I don’t understand formations. What about you two?"
The Eight Trigrams Furnace said, "I know a bit, but it’s all formations for alchemy and artifact refining. I don’t know about this kind."
Chongba remarked, "I do know a little, but are you sure this is a formation?"
Qin Shou and the Eight Trigrams Furnace were at a loss for words.
Just then, Chongba removed the shell from his body, gestured to Qin Shou, and said, "Bite off a little bit of my shell. Remember, not too much, my shell grows slow."
Qin Shou, puzzled, asked, "What do you mean?"
Chongba explained, "I’ve long heard that deep within these endless starry skies, there’s a group of old monsters banished. Over time, these fellows turn into Heavenly Demons. They’re most skilled in the Illusion Technique, either seizing the opportunity to cause havoc in someone’s mind and soul, or directly casting illusions to trap and play with someone to their death. These old monsters are playful by nature. If we really have entered their illusion, escaping will be difficult."
Qin Shou shook his head and said, "What I meant was, why are you having me bite your shell? Do you want to feel some pain to wake yourself up? Then why don’t you bite your own tongue and be done with it?"
The Eight Trigrams Furnace said disdainfully, "Stop kidding. If pain could break a Heavenly Demon’s illusion, from now on, I’ll call you ’dad.’"
Upon hearing this, Chongba slapped his hand and commanded, "Just bite it. It doesn’t hurt when I bite myself, but it will when you do."
Qin Shou knew Chongba too well. Seeing his sly, beady eyes, he knew the bug was lying—he clearly wanted to take advantage of the Eight Trigrams Furnace after breaking out of the illusion.
Nevertheless, Qin Shou didn’t ask for further details. He bit off a piece of the black shell as big as his thumb and handed it to Chongba.
Chongba immediately threw it into the Eight Trigrams Furnace and ordered, "Burn it with Samadhi True Fire!"
The Eight Trigrams Furnace froze for a moment, then realization dawned on him, "I got it! You’re a dragon! The angle of a dragon and turtle can break all illusions! Could it be that you...?"
Chongba shook his head and said, "I’m not a dragon turtle. I don’t even know what I am. The dragon turtle you speak of is the Black Tortoise, and I’m definitely not that. But my shell can break illusions."
The Eight Trigrams Furnace nodded, and the Samadhi True Fire within him ignited instantaneously. The piece of the shell quickly caught fire, emitting strands of white smoke.
The Eight Trigrams Furnace opened a crack in the lid, and the white smoke slowly drifted out, spreading around.
Qin Shou sneezed reflexively!
When Qin Shou looked up again, he saw a pair of gleaming green eyes staring at him about three meters away! As soon as it saw Qin Shou open his eyes and look about, the creature darted back into the mist.
Qin Shou quickly looked towards the Eight Trigrams Furnace and Chongba nearby, and sure enough, there were also shadows with flickering green eyes in front of them!
The shadows, realizing that Qin Shou and the others had broken free from the illusion, said nothing and retreated quietly, disappearing.
The Eight Trigrams Furnace shouted almost simultaneously, "What was that?!"
Unfortunately, with the mist swirling around them, they couldn’t see beyond three meters, let alone give chase.
Qin Shou tried to activate his Divine Sense, but found it confined within three meters, unable to spread any further.
At that moment, Chongba said, "Follow me!"
After speaking, Chongba strode ahead confidently, frequently changing direction. Qin Shou tried not to follow Chongba’s path, but when he stepped into thin air, frightening him into quickly following. However, both Qin Shou and the Eight Trigrams Furnace were puzzled—how did Chongba know his way around here so well?
