Chapter 538: Chapter 150: The Suffering Nether River [Part 2]_1
So the rabbit approached the Nether River Patriarch and, with a bow and a smile, said, "Old man, the Teleportation Array has been found, but the Formation’s Crystal Stone to activate it is missing, you see. Should we find someone to install it?"
The Nether River Patriarch was startled. He knew best whether there were Crystal Stones on the Teleportation Array, for he had placed them there himself! Now that they were gone, he did not even need to use his toes to figure out what had happened!
However, since Qin Shou did not point it out, he still held onto a glimmer of hope and chuckled, "Gone? Perhaps I made a mistake. I will install it for you right now."
As soon as he had finished speaking, the Nether River Patriarch was about to get up.
"No need, just give me the Spirit Stones and I will install them," Qin Shou hurriedly called out.
The Nether River Patriarch looked at Qin Shou skeptically. Qin Shou had an earnest expression on his face. The Patriarch frowned slightly but ultimately smiled and said, "Alright, I’ll give you eight Spirit Stones for you to install."
After he spoke, the Nether River Patriarch flipped his hand, and suddenly there were eight Yellow Spirit Crystals in his palm, which he then handed to Qin Shou.
Qin Shou took them with a chuckle, swiftly stuffed them into the Black Demon Box, and then reached out his hand again.
The Nether River Patriarch was taken aback and asked, "What are you doing?"
Qin Shou responded as if it were only natural, "I don’t know how far it is back home. You’re so wealthy, could you spare some traveling allowance?"
The Nether River Patriarch was a bit stunned and asked in astonishment, "Traveling allowance?"
Qin Shou nodded assuredly, "Yes, traveling allowance!"
The Nether River Patriarch squinted his eyes, staring at Qin Shou. Qin Shou did not avert his gaze at all, blinking his innocent, big eyes toward the Patriarch.
The two stared at each other for a full three minutes, after which the Nether River Patriarch finally nodded and asked, "How much do you want?"
Qin Shou put up an indeterminate number of fingers.
The Nether River Patriarch said, "Five pieces?"
Qin Shou rolled his eyes and said, "Are you trying to fob off a beggar?"
The Nether River Patriarch said, "Five is enough. Spirit Stones are, after all, the currency of the Heavenly Court, and actually, they aren’t widely used in the cultivation world. After all, the output is what it is... Most transactions are still barter."
Qin Shou continued to shake his head, "Truly not enough. I’m not asking for Spirit Stones to use them, mainly to eat."
The Nether River Patriarch asked incredulously in a high-pitched voice, "Eat?!"
Qin Shou answered as if it were a given, "Yes! The road is tough, and if I don’t eat my fill, won’t I starve to death? These Spirit Stones are abundant in Spiritual Energy, just perfect for filling my stomach."
The Nether River Patriarch’s old face turned instantly dark. He then remembered that indeed, this rabbit had a huge demand for Yuan Qi. Him saying that he would eat Spirit Stones, the Patriarch actually believed him a bit.
Seeing that the Nether River Patriarch remained silent, Qin Shou said, "Seeing how troubled you look, I won’t take them."
The Nether River Patriarch felt a warmth in his heart. He thought to himself that this rabbit was not so bad after all.
But then he heard the rabbit say, "If there’s no traveling allowance, the return trip would be too painful. I might as well just stay here, where there’s plenty to eat and drink, pretty good!"
Having said that, Qin Shou broke off a leg of a stool and stuffed it into his mouth, crunching away.
The stool the Nether River Patriarch was seated on lost a leg and immediately threatened to topple, causing the Patriarch to frown. The stool then simply floated in mid-air.
Next, the rabbit casually broke off the remaining legs of the stool and ate them...
The Nether River Patriarch’s face turned black and said, "Rabbit! Why are you eating my stool?"
Qin Shou replied as if it were the most natural thing, "Aren’t you floating? What do you need stool legs for?"
The Nether River Patriarch found himself at a loss for words...
After finishing the stool leg in his hand, Qin Shou turned around to look at the other objects in the place!
Before the Nether River Patriarch could speak, the rabbit was already at the door, gnawing on the door panel!
It wasn’t that the rabbit wasn’t picky, but after taking a bite, Qin Shou discovered that any random piece of wood in the house contained more Pure Yin Energy than the furniture he got from the Judge! This place was literally filled with treasures!
Qin Shou had claimed he wouldn’t leave just to bargain, but now he really didn’t want to go!
Seeing that the door had been chewed away by a large part, the Nether River Patriarch could no longer sit still and hastily stood up, shouting, "Rabbit! Stop eating, now!"
Qin Shou slightly lifted his head and said, "Hungry..."
The Nether River Patriarch said with a helpless expression, "I am, after all, your lifesaver. If you don’t repay the favor, that’s one thing, but you can’t just demolish my house, can you?"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou chuckled, not saying a word, just smilingly watching the Nether River Patriarch.
After five minutes, the Nether River Patriarch’s face turned red... then he cleared his throat and said, "Well... actually, uh..." After stammering for a while and having looked for quite some time, he figured it out. That damn rabbit must have seen the writing on the Teleportation Array and recognized his identity.
Although the Nether River Patriarch did not usually meet with his few disciples, no matter how you look at it, the Asura King was indeed his direct, major disciple!
It was one thing for the Asura King to have stolen someone’s rabbit sister and to have tormented her!
It was bad enough he tormented her, but to be discovered by this rabbit!
And it wasn’t just discovery; the Asura King even wanted to kill the rabbit!
The grudge was somewhat significant.
Had the Asura King died and come across someone magnanimous, this matter might have been more or less settled. After all, the rabbit had demolished Blood City, severely retaliating against the Asura Clan.
But if someone was less generous and insisted on blaming the Nether River Patriarch, it could somewhat make sense.
The Nether River Patriarch sighed and said, "You... how much traveling allowance did you say you wanted just now?"
The moment Qin Shou heard this, he immediately brightened up and stretched out five fingers.
The Nether River Patriarch asked, "Fifty?"
Qin Shou rolled his eyes and said, "When I was in the Heavenly Court, one meal was worth more than that amount?"
The Nether River Patriarch thought for a bit—he didn’t even know the Heavenly Court had such expensive restaurants—but he still inquired, "Five hundred?"
Qin Shou resolutely shook his head, adding another eye roll for good measure.
The Nether River Patriarch became a bit restless, raising his voice as he asked, "How much do you really want, would you just give me a number!"
Qin Shou didn’t respond, but silently turned around and nibbled on the door frame...
The Nether River Patriarch, near tears, called out, "Five thousand?"
Qin Shou kept nibbling.
"Fifty thousand?"
Still nibbling!
"Five hundred thousand?!"
Qin Shou was still at it...
Close to crying, the Nether River Patriarch nearly screamed his heart out, "Damn rabbit, this is the Nether River! This is the Blood Sea! We’re not connected to the Heavenly Court here! The Spirit Crystals I do have were all plundered! I truly don’t have any more Yellow Spirit Crystals, you want too much!"
Suddenly stopping, Qin Shou turned back to look at the Nether River Patriarch and asked, "What Spirit Crystal did you say?"
The Nether River Patriarch subconsciously said, "Yellow Spirit Crystal..."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Nether River Patriarch realized he had misspoken, but it was too late to take his words back.
Because that rabbit suddenly slapped his hand and exclaimed, "Deal!"
After the Nether River Patriarch had counted out the Spirit Crystals and handed them to Qin Shou, Qin Shou grinned contentedly and said, "Old man, you really are a good person, hehe... I was actually asking for Red Spirit Crystals, but to think you actually gave me Yellow Spirit Crystals. You’re really nice!"
