Rabbit Must Die
Chapter 497 - 110: Brother Gives Way_1

Chapter 497: Chapter 110: Brother Gives Way_1

However, when everyone used this tactic, it clearly didn’t work anymore—no one would make way; each person stood their ground with a defiant attitude as if to say, "Yeah, try pulling that on me!"

So, the road was congested again.

Of course, there were exceptions. For someone like Kui San, he would just rely on his brute strength and barrel through.

Some people called the police, but the Ghost Messengers dared not meddle with that guy. They hummed and hawed, pretending to give chase, then turned a corner and went off to drink instead.

Seeing this, Qin Shou shook his head slightly and said, "What a decline in public morals! One after another, they’re so brazenly infringing upon others’ rights—it’s outrageous!"

While he was speaking, Qin Shou saw Bull Head flying over with a loudspeaker in hand, moving while announcing, "Attention everyone, the Netherworld is too congested. Starting today, flying is permitted, but only this high—not higher, not lower. Make a mess, and you’ll get a fine. The underground passages are also open, so just use Earth Escape!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou rolled his eyes, thinking, "Earth Escape, my brother-in-law’s foot! Is that what counts as opening the underground passages?!"

Then Qin Shou watched a crowd of people sticking their butts up, diving headfirst into the ground, burrowing into the dirt in a flash.

Qin Shou scratched his head and grabbed someone to ask, "Brother He, is Earth Escape so dirt cheap now?"

The person looked at Qin Shou as if staring at a fool and said, "We’re all ghosts here. Who needs to learn Earth Escape to dig through the dirt?"

Qin Shou was speechless...

After those meant to dig had burrowed and those destined to fly had taken to the skies, Qin Shou realized that the congested road in front of him had suddenly cleared up, and his mood markedly lifted. Especially when he looked up at the sky, he felt even more joyful...

"Tsk tsk... I did say traditional attire is great, didn’t I? These skirts, so roomy..." Qin Shou snickered foolishly, walking forward.

But soon, Qin Shou grew tired of the traditional garb; after all, people in ancient times wore pants under their skirts and the styles hardly varied, the colors were much the same, and none were as open as the girls on Earth.

Seeing this, Qin Shou couldn’t help but complain, "With so many outstanding people in the Netherworld, how come no one has ever thought to design a pair of thongs, a bikini, or something? At the very least, introduce some stockings or safety pants?"

Just then, a group of guards was escorting a ghost forward, when one of them shouted, "Move it! Dressed so indecently, you pervert, wait for your descent into Hell!"

Qin Shou glanced at the person; they were merely wearing a pair of large shorts, basically beachwear.

After seeing the poor kid, Qin Shou suddenly understood why the Netherworld was so conservative. Then he shuddered, quickly averted his gaze, and made himself scarce.

What surprised Qin Shou was that he had thought Kui San was returning to the Heibai Inn, but when he entered, he found that Kui San and company were not there.

After asking around, Qin Shou learned that they had apparently grouped up for an outing. As for where they went, even the shopkeeper was not sure.

Feeling helpless, Qin Shou smacked his lips, turned around, and walked out.

Qin Shou didn’t seek out Mengpo but remembered that old soldier instead... So he ran to the main gate and called over Horse Face, asking, "Do you know about Tang Dynasty’s western border, Fenghuo City?"

Horse Face was stunned for a moment before replying, "Yeah, I know it."

"How can I get there quickly?" Qin Shou asked.

Horse Face said, "The fastest way is from the Netherworld."

Qin Shou slapped him and said, "Speak human!"

Horse Face, with a wry face, replied, "Rabbit, you’re not a ghost, so no need to walk the Road to the Netherworld. There’s a Teleportation Array over there that takes you straight to Ghost Gate. Just get Black and White Impermanence, those two fellas, to escort you a bit, open the gate, and you’re there."

Qin Shou was overjoyed and immediately went to find Black and White Impermanence.

Black and White Impermanence usually stayed at the Judicial Division, and today was no exception.

When Qin Shou arrived, Black and White Impermanence had their mouths wide open, competing to see whose tongue was longer.

To Qin Shou’s surprise, Kui San was also squatting there, with his mouth agape, pulling on his tongue... and his tongue was even longer than Black and White Impermanence’s!

Seeing this, Black and White Impermanence promptly clasped their hands together and said, "Indeed, there are people beyond people, and heavens beyond heavens. Brother Kui is mighty!"

Kui San stood up and said with a fist in palm salute, "Elder brothers, thank you for your kindness!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou rolled his eyes and was tickled by these three fools, thinking to himself, "No wonder the efficiency of the Netherworld is so low, the intelligence of these two fellows is about on par with Kui San..."

When Qin Shou came over, Black and White Impermanence stopped their tongue-pulling contest and hastily greeted him.

After Qin Shou explained his purpose, Black and White Impermanence readily agreed, "Today we brothers are free, and since Lord Rabbit needs help, we’ll see it through. Let’s go, we’ll lead the way!"

Seeing the energetic backs of the two as they walked away, Qin Shou felt for the first time that he shouldn’t have been so harsh back then.

Qin Shou glanced at Kui San and asked, "Where is your dragon?"

Kui San pointed to the Judicial Division, his words tinged with foolishness, "That old geezer inside borrowed it, said he wanted to have a look."

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou’s brows slightly furrowed, puzzled about what Cui Jue would want with a bronze dragon. At that moment, Black and White Impermanence urged him on, and Qin Shou remembered that the old soldiers had been dead for several ShiChen already and time was actually quite pressing. So he didn’t ponder it further; after all, Cui Jue knew Kui San and would not likely covet Kui San’s belongings.

Thus, Qin Shou took Kui San and followed Black and White Impermanence.

The Netherworld had many teleportation arrays, convenient for coming and going, but most were for internal use only; only a few were open to the outside.

These external arrays were mostly located within the various outward-facing government buildings.

The Judicial Division had one, and after Qin Shou went inside and turned a few corners, he saw a not-so-large teleportation array.

After Black and White Impermanence operated it, a flash of black and white light, and Qin Shou was at the end of the Road to the Netherworld, right behind the Ghost Gate.

Seeing that the crazy Rabbit had come again, the ferocious ghosts on the gate all shrank back, acting as tame as little kittens.

Qin Shou ignored them, and White Impermanence fumbled on the gate. And with a strong push, the gate opened!

A gust of cold wind blew over, making Qin Shou shiver. Looking outside, he only heard the incessant cawing of crows, the cold wind carrying the scent of blood...

Stepping out the gate, Qin Shou confirmed his location; it was a battlefield, and by the looks of things, the fight had only just finished. Corpses lay scattered in front of him, with blood frozen on the ground by the cold wind, turning into a layer of blood-red ice. Tattered banners fluttered chaotically in the wind, and although the standard-bearers holding the flagpoles were dead, they were still trying hard to keep the flags aloft.

Qin Shou, looking at this scene, felt a bit queasy; after all, this was his first time seeing such a bloody sight.

But Qin Shou, having experienced his fair share of turbulence, quickly adjusted. He walked over, and wherever he saw someone with unclosed eyes, he helped them close their eyes.

Black Impermanence, seeing this, shook his head and said, "No need, their souls have already gone to be reincarnated. These are just empty shells. Even if you close their eyes for them, they won’t know it."

But Qin Shou, without looking back, said, "The master once said, this deed is not to comfort the deceased, but to comfort one’s own heart. Each time we close a deceased’s eyes, we witness life and death... From life to death, it’s just the closing of eyes. The living are not easy; we should cherish them."
