Chapter 400: Chapter 13 Such a fancy move?_1
Qin Shou looked down at the old Taoist’s attire, which was a yellow eight trigrams robe! The clothes looked oddly familiar to him, so he squatted down and asked, "Hey, look up."
"I won’t!" The old Taoist resolutely refused.
"Look up!" Qin Shou urged, feeling the garb was increasingly familiar, to say nothing of the voice.
The old Taoist said, "I have petrifying eyes; whoever I look at turns to stone. For your safety, I can’t look up."
Qin Shou didn’t believe him at all and grabbed the old Taoist by the hair, yanking it upward!
Just then, a cold snort came from the heavens, "Everyone’s run off, so I’ll start by eating you guys, then chase after them!"
As he spoke, a shadowy figure descended from the sky, entirely shrouded in black, with a pair of wings on its back and a greenish-black demon cloud swirling under its feet!
Qin Shou instinctively looked up, but before he could make out what the person looked like or gauge their strength, he heard a loud shout from below: "A demon! Run!"
Then the hair Qin Shou was grabbing suddenly shot upward. He failed to hold on and watched as the old Taoist took off running!
However, Qin Shou’s reaction was swift. Almost the moment the old Taoist surged forward, Qin Shou had already started running! His idea was simple; regardless of what kind of demon it was, running was definitely the right move!
Clearly, the old Taoist had the same thought, and after running together for a while, they instinctively glanced at each other, only to realize their speeds were nearly equal!
At that glance, Qin Shou exclaimed, "It’s you!?"
The old Taoist was none other than the old swindler Qin Shou had encountered at Shushan and at the foot of Jiuyi Mountain in Lingling Ancient City!
Knowing he couldn’t avoid it, the old swindler stiffened his neck and said, "That’s me! So what?"
Qin Shou asked, "You’re so powerful, why are you running? Aren’t you an Immortal?"
The old swindler rolled his eyes and said, "Immortal my ass!"
"You can get to Heavenly Court without being an Immortal?" Qin Shou’s heart trembled, as if he’d found a path to Heaven.
The old swindler said defiantly, "Who told you that only Immortals could go to Heavenly Court? I, the Taoist, have profound Magic. What’s wrong with going to Heaven?"
Qin Shou was about to speak when he felt a wind behind his head!
Qin Shou and the old swindler turned to look back, only to see the grand demon had already caught up, seemingly ready to grasp them!
The old swindler, with a look of determined resolve, said: "Rabbit! Stop running, there’s just the two of us, we can’t outpace him, we might as well fight! There’s still a chance to live!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou nodded slightly and said, "Alright, on the count of three, we turn around and take him on!"
The old swindler nodded, eyes filled with a resolve to risk life and death.
"One!"
Qin Shou pulled out a knife!
The old swindler drew a sword.
"Two!"
Qin Shou’s knife elongated, and the old swindler unsheathed his sword!
Seeing this, the grand demon became solemn as well, not daring to get too close and quietly channeling his Magic!
"Three!"
With a shout, Qin Shou flung his ears back and started spinning at high speed, taking off like a shot!
At the same time, the old swindler threw his sword under his feet, jumped on it, and took to sword flight, speeding away even faster!
As the two guys scampered off in a puff of smoke, the simple-minded big demon, who had been gearing up for a fight for quite some time, was suddenly dumbfounded. It took a moment before he snapped back to reality and bellowed, "Fuck your grandma, stop right there!"
The old swindler and Qin Shou exchanged a glance, both of their faces turning red as they blurted out in unison, pre-empting their pursuer, "Didn’t you say you’d fight us if we turn around?"
Then they shouted again in unison, "Isn’t this fighting? We’re just running faster than you in our life-or-death escape!"
After that, the two fell silent...
A while later, they cupped their fists in greeting and said, "It turns out we’re birds of a feather, nice to meet you."
"You two stop right there!" The big demon roared, chasing after them!
The old swindler glanced at Qin Shou, and Qin Shou looked back at the old swindler. Their expressions grew solemn once again, and just at that moment!
The old swindler suddenly reached out and grabbed Qin Shou’s ear!
At the same time, Qin Shou stretched out a foot, extending it over two meters!
Almost simultaneously, Qin Shou was hoisted up by the old swindler, ready to be thrown backward!
Then Qin Shou tripped the old swindler with his foot, sending him tumbling to the ground, and as he rolled about, he didn’t forget to toss the rabbit behind him!
Obviously, both scoundrels had the same idea: better for the Taoist to die than for oneself!
Seeing this, the big demon burst into laughter and said, "You deserve to die for your infighting like that! That little rabbit looks quite plump!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou thought, this is bad! He was ready to transform into a Zhuyan and have it out...
The old swindler’s heart leaped with joy, laughing and thinking, "Looks like I have a chance to run!"
But then he saw the big demon heading straight for him, grunting, "But I don’t like fatty meat; rib meat is much tastier..."
The old swindler’s face turned black instantly.
Qin Shou was left standing there in a daze, thinking, are there such tactics?
Then Qin Shou didn’t look back and took off running!
"The rabbit is getting away!" The old swindler, seeing this, resolutely betrayed the rabbit.
The big demon just turned up his nose, grinned at the old swindler with a smile that made the latter’s butt clench, and thought, "Damn, you’ve got to be kidding me..."
"He’s gone, isn’t that perfect? Come on, let this great king see how many ribs you have..." While speaking, the demon moved closer to the old swindler, who finally got a clear look at the demon’s face.
It wasn’t that the old swindler had poor eyesight, but this fellow... was too black! It was getting dark now, with the sun almost setting behind the mountain, and the big demon was standing with his back to the sunlight, his face covered in shadow. A normal person could make out the features, but this guy was as if he’d just scrambled out of a coal mine, black as coal - even his teeth were black!
To make out the features of someone that dark, you’d really be seeing ghosts.
The demon’s face was pitch black, his eyes without whites, a small tuft of hair at the back of his bald head, and a pair of bat-like wings on his back. His body was only covered by a loincloth made of leaves tied around his waist, which at that moment was thrusting upward prominently... The old swindler didn’t need to guess to know it must be a dark, shiny stick!
Seeing this, the old swindler was close to tears and exclaimed, "I’m old already, let’s just forget about it, huh?"
The big demon chuckled, "Forget about it? How could I? By age, I’m not young either, so we could be companions in our old age, right? I live on Yifang Mountain; there’s no end to the delicacies of the mountain and wild game there. By following me, you’d enjoy the good life. Come on, let the great king take a look..."
As he spoke, the big demon reached out to grab the old swindler’s clothes, at which point the old swindler couldn’t hold back any longer and screamed, "I’ll fight you with everything I’ve got! Behold the Buddha Beads!"
The rabbit was still running when a loud boom followed by a chanting of Buddha’s name erupted from behind!
Qin Shou couldn’t help but turn back to look, just in time to see an illusory golden Buddha flicker above the village, followed by the big demon’s howls of agony!
Then Qin Shou saw the old swindler, his hair disheveled and his clothes in disarray, sprinting towards him. He had lost a shoe in the flight, but he didn’t even turn back to retrieve it.
