Rabbit Must Die -
Chapter 390 - 3 Childhood Ruined_1
Chapter 390: Chapter 3 Childhood Ruined_1
Qin Shou was immediately dumbfounded and, with widened eyes, he asked, "Really? That generous?"
The queen haughtily replied, "After all, I am the ruler of a country, I can make that decision. Immortal, is there anything else you need?"
Qin Shou grinned and said, "Well... let’s not talk about that for now. Since you’re so awesome, do you have any Orange Spirit Crystals?"
At this, the queen was taken aback and asked tentatively, "Are you talking about the Spirit Crystals that were once distributed by the Heavenly Court?"
Qin Shou nodded...
With an embarrassed shake of her head, the queen said, "That... we really don’t have any."
Qin Shou said, "Red Spirit Crystals will do, I’m not picky."
The queen smiled bitterly, "Immortal, you must not have been to the lower realms, right? Spirit Crystals are used for transactions among immortals, they’re not necessary for ordinary people’s trade. Moreover, few Spirit Crystals are circulating among the populace. Even in our royal treasury, we only have about twenty Red Spirit Crystals."
Qin Shou had heard before that Spirit Crystals scarcely circulated within the Earthly Immortal Realm, but he hadn’t expected them to be this scarce.
Qin Shou smacked his lips and asked, "Then do you have any Cultivation Techniques here?"
"We have no Immortal Laws," the queen directly replied.
Qin Shou asked, "What about Qi Refining Cultivation Techniques?"
After thinking for a moment, the queen replied with a bitter smile, "Immortal, our Women Country is just an ordinary small nation, it’s already good enough to have a cultivator as the State Preceptor. Where would we get any Cultivation Techniques? If we had them, we’d be a cultivation kingdom already and our status would naturally be different."
Qin Shou sighed and asked, "Then forget it. Do you know the way to Five Fingers Mountain?"
The queen shook her head, "I’m not sure."
Qin Shou was completely speechless, but he understood one thing – in "Journey to the West", Tang Monk and his disciples headed west to the Western Heaven. Since Women Country was encountered on the way, to find Five Fingers Mountain, one simply had to head east.
Qin Shou waved his hand, ready to say goodbye.
Just then, the queen suddenly stepped forward and said, "Immortal, are you leaving?"
Qin Shou said, "Ah, what else? I’d stay for dinner, but I’m afraid you can’t afford to feed me."
The queen, with an idea twinkling in her big eyes, said, "Immortal, although I don’t know the way to Five Fingers Mountain, we do have a map. This map has been handed down from our ancestors and is said to depict a large part of the South Shanbu Continent. Maybe it could be useful to you."
Qin Shou’s eyes lit up at this. What was he lacking now?
Upon further thought, he realized he was short on money, people, women, and Cultivation Techniques... he lacked quite a few things, but what he needed the most was this map.
So without a second word, Qin Shou transformed into a six-foot-tall rabbit, lifted Her Majesty from her waist, and burst out of the dilapidated temple. Soaring into the sky, he headed straight for the Western Women Country.
As he entered the city gates, Qin Shou immediately saw the benefits of associating with the queen. Before he could say a word, the thundering sound of hoofbeats approached, and a squadron of majestic female cavalrymen charged over, swiftly encircling Qin Shou!
Qin Shou grinned and said, "Hey, Your Majesty, is this how your people welcome a life-saving hero?"
The queen’s face blushed slightly as she hurriedly jumped out of Qin Shou’s arms and waved her hand, "All right, stand down. This Immortal saved me; he is my benefactor."
The crowd of female soldiers, puzzled as to how a rabbit spirit became an Immortal, reluctantly sheathed their spears and stepped back to make way.
Qin Shou smacked his lips and said, "That’s how it should be. Play with spears? Men handle them better than women."
As soon as he spoke, some within the ranks of the female soldiers grew annoyed, and a woman wearing a purple gold crown and purple gold armor snorted coldly, "We’ve been training with the best spear masters since we were five years old and our training is no less than men’s, so how are we inferior to men?"
Realizing he’d spoken amiss, but wanting to stand up for men, how could Qin Shou back down?
So Qin Shou laughed heartily and said, "You started training with spears at five, but us men have been training with spears since we were born... can you match that?"
Obviously, no man had ever spoken so frivolously to the female general before. She might not even have seen a man before, so she was left dumbfounded by Qin Shou’s words. Her pretty face turned red as she struggled to ask, "What kind of spear technique do they practice? It must be very impressive?"
The queen, who had interacted with Qin Shou for a while and had chatted with him along the way, knew not to take everything coming out of this rabbit’s mouth as truth, and being more worldly than the female general, she obviously knew that the men of the outside world were not that impressive.
Yet, the queen was tactful and did not point it out, but instead replied with a slight smile, "General Shangguan, you take the Flying Swallow Team back. I will bring the Immortal benefactor into the palace."
When Qin Shou heard the words ’enter the palace’, he instinctively crossed his legs and added, "Into the imperial palace."
The queen suppressed a smile and said, "Yes, into the imperial palace." Then, the queen glanced with a flirtatious air at the space between Qin Shou’s legs...
However, Qin Shou quickly thought, what was there to fear in a country filled with only women? In this day and age, could a rascal be afraid of being the victim of a woman’s rascality?
It’s just that, in his heart, Qin Shou had little interest in women other than Chang’e.
Walking along, Qin Shou’s eyes never stopped roving. He would glance at every person he passed by – look at their face, check out their chest, and look for... well, there wasn’t much else to see.
It wasn’t that Qin Shou was acting perverted; he truly couldn’t believe that such a large nation didn’t have a single man!
He always felt that "Flower in the Mirror" depicted a more realistic scenario, where Women Country was a nation ruled by women. However, as he traveled through it, he realized that unless the men of this country liked stuffing two buns in their shirts, or some women were naturally flat-chested, he really couldn’t spot any major flaws.
Upon arriving at the palace, Qin Shou completely lost hope, because all the women here were guards, each clad in armor. The design of the armor was the men’s version, without special modifications for breasts, so regardless of their size, once the armor was on, the chest was as flat as a plain.
Qin Shou became even less able to spot any flaws...
Queen Baili didn’t take Qin Shou to Jinluan Hall but bypassed it, leading him to a relatively secluded and elegant courtyard with artificial mountains, a lake, and lotus flowers.
The two sat down, host and guest respectively, and Queen Baili asked, "Immortal, what would you like to drink?"
Qin Shou wanted to call her by a title, but he didn’t know which one to use.
Call her Her Majesty?
He found it a bit hard to utter, because every time he wanted to speak, he would subconsciously think of the massage parlors on Earth with their leather wear, whips, candles, and the like...
Then his thoughts took a risqué turn.
Call her something else? He didn’t know what else to call her either.
Queen Baili seemed to notice Qin Shou’s embarrassment and said, "My family name is Baili. I was born on the battlefield during a war with a neighboring country, so my mother named me with not-so-elegant name—’Suijun’."
Qin Shou was startled. A woman named Baili Suijun—what an odd name. He wanted to say how strange it was but could tell just how fierce the battle must have been from it. A group of women fighting a war against a bunch of men from a neighboring country, even the pregnant queen leading them in person... The meaning behind ’Suijun’ probably included dying on the battlefield.
In other words, Queen Baili’s mother was prepared to die with her from the start...
Thinking of that bloody scene, Qin Shou couldn’t help but sigh, then murmured, "Baili Suijun..."
"What should I call the immortal?" Queen Baili asked.
Qin Shou naturally replied, "Qin Shou."
By now, Qin Shou was like a pig not fearing the boiling water, too lazy to explain any further, leaving the rest for her to figure out on her own.
Baili Suijun smiled and said, "After becoming an immortal, you do indeed enjoy longevity."
Qin Shou felt relieved at her words and started to view Baili Suijun, this woman, in a new light. Throughout their journey, she had always considered the people around her, unlike the arrogantly solitary rulers who only thought of themselves.
While they were talking, someone came in to report, "Your Majesty, we’ve prepared what you arranged. Would you like to go and see now, or later?"
Queen Baili turned to Qin Shou with a smile, "The reward I promised you is ready. Would you like to take a look?"
Qin Shou was taken aback, "Reward? What reward?"
Then, suddenly realizing something from Queen Baili’s peculiar gaze, he inwardly exclaimed, "Damn it! This woman didn’t really prepare a harem of three thousand beauties for me, did she? No, wait, it should be five thousand... Damn... Isn’t this gesture a bit too grand? Damn... How could they be so efficient?"
"Immortal, shall we go take a look now? Pick one out?" Queen Baili asked casually, but Qin Shou felt somewhat dissatisfied.
Pick one out? She made it sound so easy.
Regardless, Qin Shou was from Earth, and even though he had let go of his attachment to Earth, some of his principles were deeply ingrained.
She was a queen as well as a woman, yet her casual mention of "picking one out" felt as though Qin Shou wasn’t choosing from three thousand women, but rather three thousand objects.
She didn’t care at all about the freedom and happiness of those five thousand women, her fellow females!
Such a cold heart also made Qin Shou feel uncomfortable.
Nevertheless, Qin Shou nodded, indicating that he would take a look.
Qin Shou’s thinking was simple: given the queen’s temperament, those five thousand women would actually be better off with him than staying here. After all, the Moon Palace needed people to help manage it, and he didn’t mind having more beautiful girls bustling around to please the eye.
Queen Baili seemed to notice something off about Qin Shou’s gaze, but with her intelligence, she couldn’t fathom why the rabbit was upset.
As they walked, Queen Baili said, "Immortal, don’t worry. Although these five thousand beauties were gathered quickly, you can rest assured of their quality. They are absolutely the best and most beautiful in the nation. At their birth, we have people who categorize them, follow them their entire lives, and keep detailed records. Since we have such thorough records, we were able to select those who met the requirements as soon as you asked, and then we immediately sent people to bring them here, which is why it was done so quickly."
The more Qin Shou listened, the darker his face grew. He suddenly realized he might have saved a woman badder than Ruyi Heavenly Immortal!
Qin Shou even considered whether he should ask Ruyi Heavenly Immortal to come back.
But what really irked him was that this was nothing like the infatuated queen from "Journey to the West" that broke the hearts of all men—a stark betrayal of his childhood memories!
Unhappy!
Very unhappy!
However, as they walked, Qin Shou began to sense that something was amiss...
