QT: The Rescue Of The Miserable Bigshots -
Chapter 193 - 7.23
Chapter 193: 7.23
Bang!
Lou Yan kicked Fang Qi lightly in the ribs as the other pounced on him viciously.
Fang Qi flew backwards and fell to the ground, spitting out three or four mouthfuls of blood.
"Lou Yan!"
Jiang Jiamian was a little anxious.
With a move like that, the grudge between the protagonist and the powerful and miserable bigshot is beyond reconciliation!
If Fang Qi survived and rose again under the protection of the protagonist’s halo, then it would be hard to guarantee that Lou Yan would not be killed by the plot.
"Are you heartbroken?"
Lou Yan tilted his head to look at him, grinning maliciously, "Don’t worry, this is just the beginning. The real heartbreak is yet to come."
He pulled Jiang Jiamian all the way, and then, when they were in front of the chair, he raised his hand, tapping Jiang Jiamian’s shoulder, and pressing him down on the chair. Like a naughty child, he said playfully, "Just wait here."
He walked towards Fang Qi, who had fallen to the ground and couldn’t get up for a while, "Didn’t Immortal Jiang want to see him? Why not..."
Lou Yan’s fingers swept across the hall quickly, "Why not grind him into dust? That way, Immortal Jiang can see him everywhere he goes."
He pointed his fingers in several directions of the hall one by one, "His ashes will fill every corner of this place, this, this, this, and this!"
"Okay?"
At last, Lou Yan tilted his head and looked at Jiang Jiamian.
Jiang Jiamian looked at him indifferently and slowly opened his mouth, "If you are not afraid of the golden palace getting dirty, please feel free to do so."
Lou Yan paused suddenly, as if he had hit a sore spot, and then hissed slowly, "You really understand me. You are right, I can’t let him dirty the golden palace I built for you with my own hands."
Fang Qi lay on the ground, wracked with pain, as if his internal organs had been violently displaced. When he heard Jiang Jiamian say that his ashes would dirt this place, his heart ached uncontrollably, but soon, his reason told him that his master said that just to stop this strange man from killing him.
To save him.
And he also wants to save his master.
His fingers clenched the elixir bottle in his hand with some difficulty.
And Lou Yan was approaching him.
One step.
Two steps.
Three steps.
Fang Qi suddenly shut his eyes and clenched his fingers tightly.
The elixir bottle shattered, yet nothing happened.
There was no special smell that Fang Qi had imagined, nor was there any smoke. It was as if nothing had changed at all.
But just as Fang Qi was shocked and wondering if Su Jinzhou had deceived him, he saw Lou Yan approaching, and suddenly, his step faltered.
Lou Yan blinked several times, frowned, and raised his hand to rub his forehead.
Something shifted in his eyes. He stepped forward and seemed to be completely lost.
Surprise flashed in Fang Qi’s eyes. He almost staggered to his feet and looked in the direction of Jiang Jiamian who was sitting on the chair.
Master, he must rescue him, while this strange man is unconscious!
Stumbling past the dazed Lou Yan, Fang Qi headed straight to Jiang Jiamian who was sitting on the jade chair.
Just as he passed Lou Yan, the latter suddenly turned his head, swung his arm, and slammed Fang Qi against the solid and hard wall of the golden palace!
Bang!
Fang Qi’s entire body flew up and hit the wall heavily. Because of the rapid rebound, he fell to the ground with a bang after the collision. Blood instantly gushed out of the corner of his mouth. When he tried to stand up again, he felt dizzy and lost consciousness.
Lou Yan’s face looked somewhat grim.
Even though the mask had covered the terrifying half of his face, leaving only the beautiful one, this part was also distorted due to the struggle of his consciousness.
"You must have offended Immortal Jiang!"
"Otherwise why would he leave you and then want nothing else!"
"I will redeem you tomorrow and take you as my disciple..."
"Beat him! Beat him to death!"
"Use all these torture tools one by one!"
"It is better to destroy his face first, so that we won’t feel sorry for him when we take action!"
The voices, like flies, rose and fell in Lou Yan’s mind at the same time, clamoring. The golden palace blurred, the throne cracked, and the figure sitting upon it before him seemed to fragment into pieces.
Then, the fragments swiftly reassembled, and in an instant, everything around him morphed back into that hellish time from the past.
He was just an oiran who is at the mercy of others.
He was pushed to the ground by them, humiliated and tortured...
Then, he was thrown into a mass grave...
He survived by sheer luck, but his survival came at a cost, nights consumed by underworld fire, days filled with torment. Through pain, he learned. Through suffering, he grew. And in time, he mastered the dark arts that would grant him rebirth.
Yet, in order to remember, he chose to wear those ugly scars, never once thinking to erase them.
"Ah!!!"
His scream rang out, raw and piercing, through the golden palace. Lou Yan held his head, trembling. Faced with the man seated not far away, and Fang Qi, who wanted to take him away, he used up the last shred of his sanity to wrench his mind free from the grip of tormenting memories.
As clarity returned, Lou Yan was drenched in sweat and strands of wet hair clung to his scalp.
He shot a quick glance at Fang Qi, who lay motionless on the ground, uncertain if he was alive or dead. Without a thought, he hurried towards the seat.
For some reason, when he looked at Jiang Jiamian, who was sitting there with his head down and his face hidden from view, he felt a little nervous.
He didn’t know how long he had struggled to break free just now, but it seemed that the person sitting on the chair was too silent.
"Immortal Jiang?"
Suppressing the panic rising in his chest, Lou Yan approached the chair with quiet steps. The moment his eyes fell, he froze.
The person in the chair was completely soaked. Jiang Jiamian’s skin was pale, his head hung down, and his whole body slumped lifelessly in the seat.
Lou Yan felt an unprecedented panic in his heart and quickly reached out to hug Jiang Jiamian in his arms. As he did so, he felt as if the person in his arms had just been pulled out of the water. The body was cold and weak, frighteningly so.
He lifted his head. Jiang Jiamian’s face was ashen, twisted in pain, his lips torn and bleeding where he had bitten down. It was as if he were lost in a nightmare he couldn’t wake from.
