Proud Goddess Falls in Love with Me
Chapter 981 - 981 941 Searching for Ore

981: Chapter 941: Searching for Ore 981: Chapter 941: Searching for Ore Su Changyue returned to her room and walked toward Su Meeng.

“Brother, what did you just say?

What great news?

Anything is good news given my current situation.”

Su Changyue sat on the bed, and Xsu Qing also came over.

“Your legs, there’s still hope!”

Su Meeng, in self-mockery, laughed, “Hope?

What hope could there be, my legs are gone, can’t even find them, it’s impossible to reattach them, how could there be any hope?”

He said this, his expression turning desolate, as this matter had heavily impacted his heart.

“The one who saved you, Lu Chuan, he has the ability to make your legs grow back, provided he achieves a breakthrough!”

“Really?

Lu Chuan, he…

could he truly have such an ability?”

Su Meeng looked up at Su Changyue, his eyes filled with incredulity.

“Of course, but he must complete his breakthrough, he’s not capable of it yet.”

“Then…

it’s hard to say whether this is true or false.”

“It’s absolutely true.

The daughter of the Sect Master of Ten Thousand Fires Sect has confirmed it, and it’s definitely true.

Do you remember her?

The girl named Xsu Qing.”

“Xsu Qing?”

Su Meeng’s eyes narrowed as he fell into recollection.

“I seem to have heard of it, the Sect Master of Ten Thousand Fires Sect, indeed named Xsu.”

Su Changyue nodded and continued, “So you have to believe what I said, this is truly your last chance, our hope lies only in Lu Chuan.”

“Isn’t this too miraculous?

Can I truly make my legs grow back?”

He looked at Su Changyue in astonishment, finding it hard to believe, such ability was beyond his understanding.

“When I first heard it, I reacted just like you, I also found it unbelievable, thought it was completely impossible, but Xsu Qing told me, the flames inside Lu Chuan’s body are the extremely rare Divine Fire!”

“Divine Fire?”

Hearing these words, Su Meeng’s eyes widened, sinking into thought.

Xsu Qing leaned on Su Meeng’s shoulder, her eyes brimming with tears, and she softly said, “That’s wonderful, you can stand up again!”

Su Meeng smiled shyly, “It’s still not set in stone, it depends on when Mr.

Lu completes his breakthrough.”

“Tomorrow he sets out to find the materials needed for the breakthrough, let’s await his news.”

Su Changyue patted his shoulder.

The next morning, upon waking, Lu Chuan got ready to leave the city right away.

In the courtyard, after Lu Chuan strapped on the Soul Terminating Sword, he prepared to head out.

Dongfang Cheng was already at the gate early in the morning with horses ready, so they could leave anytime.

Lu Chuan reached the gate and both he and Dongfang Cheng mounted their horses and started their journey.

Following the street to the north gate of the city, they passed through the gate and headed for the mountains north of the city.

Along the way, Lu Chuan looked at Dongfang Cheng and asked, “How is Jyang Ran doing now?

Is she still in the city?”

“She hasn’t left yet.

I think, she’s planning to stick with you, probably feels it’s more prospective following someone as strong as you.”

Lu Chuan, upon hearing Dongfang Cheng’s words, fell into thought.

“Her sticking with me… that’s really not necessary, her own strength is already quite strong.”

“However, having her as an additional fighter really could be helpful, like the last time when Su Meeng was ambushed, Jyang Ran actually tried to stop it instead of just watching or running away, proving she is a reliable person.”

Upon hearing this, Dongfang Cheng nodded in agreement.

“You’re right, indeed.

Let her be if she wants to follow, after all, having a demonic cultivator with us opens up more possibilities.”

The two rode their horses to the foot of the mountain, where Lu Chuan stopped his horse and unrolled the map tied to his waist.

As the map unfolded, Lu Chuan carefully observed it.

“The mountain ahead is Gray Fruits Mountain, quite barren, not much in terms of trees or animals, but thankfully it has rich mineral veins which bring more people here.”

“Let’s go, we’ll first head to the ore vein and see if the fire attribute mineral ore has been collected.”

Lu Chuan and Dongfang Cheng tied their horses at the foot of the mountain and prepared to walk into the wilderness.

Lu Chuan, looking at the map, followed the mountain path.

“The mine isn’t on the mountain but in a basin within the mountain region, walking further in should reveal it.”

Lu Chuan led the way, the two walking beside a mountain stream, following the stream’s edge upstream.

Soon, Lu Chuan saw several wooden buildings nestled scattered through the forest.

Looking through the dense trees, Lu Chuan recognized the cluster of buildings as nearly identical to the location marked on the map.

“This is the first mining site, let’s check this area.”

Lu Chuan quickly walked to the entrance of the mine.

At the entrance, wooden walls obstructed his view until he reached the gate, which he needed to pass through to enter the mining site and see the mine shafts.

Lu Chuan approached the gate and addressed the two guards, “Please open the gate, I’ve come to visit on business.”

“May I ask who it is?”

the guard curiously asked.

“I’m Lu Chuan, a friend of the City Lord of Tiannan City.”

“Lu Chuan?”

He glanced at his note, “Oh right, someone did come by earlier to mention you’d be coming, please enter then.”

The two guards then opened the gate, and Lu Chuan, accompanied by Dongfang Cheng, entered.

Once inside the mining site, Lu Chuan looked around.

Not many people were busy here; most were working inside the mine shafts, while those outside tended to be ancillary staff.

Lu Chuan walked toward the central building.

The three-story wooden house in front of him, exquisitely constructed, stood with guards at the door, and passing workers made ample room around the place, making it evident to Lu Chuan that this was definitely the dwelling of the Steward of the mine.

“Are you here to meet our Chief Steward?”

the guard at the door asked.

“Yes, I’m Lu Chuan, there are a few matters I need to discuss.”

“No problem, please come in.

Our Chief Steward’s room is on the second floor, you’ll see it once you go up.”

Lu Chuan nodded slightly and then stepped inside.

Upon reaching the second floor, Lu Chuan immediately saw the Chief Steward’s room; it was simplistically apparent as the whole second floor was one room with the rest being an open leisure area.

Lu Chuan walked to the room door.

Arriving at the door, he knocked.

At the time, inside the room, a corpulent figure sat on a chair, cheerfully eating lunch.

“Knock, knock, knock!”

“Who is it?”

“I’m Lu Chuan, I’ve come to discuss some business.”

“Lu Chuan?”

The Chief Steward frowned, “Is this the person the City Lord mentioned?

He said he’d come to check the situation here?”
