Chapter 87: Chapter 87, Proposing Relocation
Bai Jin briskly got to his feet and ran forward, eventually sitting down on the steps and complaining, "Master, it’s great for you to seal the palace gates and enjoy the tranquility, but the disciples below are causing an uproar. I’m exhausted from trying to stop them, and you won’t even come out to say a word!"
Tongtian replied calmly, "My absence works better than my presence."
Bai Jin climbed a couple more steps and looked up expectantly, "Master, how about you remove my position as the Outer Disciple Leader? I’ll join you in close-door training, serving you tea and water, and giving you massages."
Tongtian softly kicked Bai Jin with his foot and said, slightly annoyed, "You lazy creature, you can’t handle just a few days of this. I’ve been looking after you for countless millennia."
Shaking unsteadily, Bai Jin retorted, "Master, you said it yourself, you’ve been hands-off."
"Haha~" Tongtian chuckled, looked up outside, and sighed.
Suddenly, Bai Jin said, "Master, let’s leave this place!"
Tongtian was taken aback, frowning, he said, "Leave?" and instinctively continued, "I and your two Masters have been together since birth, living countless years. How can I abandon my brothers and leave?"
Bai Jin looked up, proudly explaining, "Master, that’s something you don’t understand! Distance makes the heart grow fonder.
Just think! You’ve all been together for so many years, very familiar with each other’s presence, and what you see are the annoying aspects of each other."
With both hands stretched in front of him and pulling them apart with a grin, he added, "But once you’re apart, it’s different. With distance, after not seeing each other for a long while, you start to miss the good things about each other. That’s the beauty created by distance."
Thoughtfully, Tongtian said, "That makes some sense!"
Prompted by Bai Jin, Tongtian felt a stirring in his heart. The thought of leaving his brothers and establishing his own Holy Land, where no one would prattle in his ear, where he could do whatever he wanted and take on as many disciples as he wished, had him slightly excited.
Looking outside, Tongtian sighed and said, "Well then! Bai Jin, go and inform the Jie Sect Disciples to keep to their duties. We will choose a day to leave Kunlun."
A hint of misery crossed Bai Jin’s face as he said, "Master, the other disciples might be manageable, but even the senior brothers and sisters won’t listen to me!" Hopefully, he added, "Master, it’s better if you speak to them yourself!"
"Take it!" Tongtian waved his hand, and the Qingping Sword hanging on the wall flew out, floating in front of Bai Jin.
Bai Jin’s eyes lit up, and he quickly stood up and bowed enthusiastically, "Thank you for bestowing me with this treasure, Master! I will definitely cultivate diligently and never disgrace the name of Qingping Sword."
Tongtian’s eyes widened, and he burst out laughing, "You want my Qingping Sword?"
Bai Jin repeatedly nodded, saying earnestly, "Master, I just feel that the Qingping Sword and I are fated."
"Get lost~" Tongtian waved his sleeve, and Bai Jin’s figure instantly disappeared.
Ah~ Help~ A shrill scream echoed from outside, growing fainter as it drifted away, while a bright star spiraled upward in the skies above Kunlun Mountain.
Inside Shangqing Palace, Tongtian laughed heartily and said, "Qingping, go find him!"
The Qingping Sword trembled slightly and instantaneously shot into the sky.
After a short while, the palace gates opened slightly, and a disheveled head peeked inside. Bai Jin shouted, "Master, should we inform the two Masters beforehand?"
Tongtian coughed a little, struggling to contain his laughter as he said, "You go inform them! I can’t handle this kind of separation scene."
"Understood~" The palace doors slammed shut.
Sitting in the main seat inside the palace, Tongtian laughed to himself and mused, "Talking with Bai Jin always brightens up my mood, this mischievous boy.
Distance does lend enchantment, there’s some truth to that."
Tongtian casually waved and a shrunken continent appeared before him, with a towering mountain standing tall at its center, identical to the Primordial World.
Tongtian watched the continent’s phantom with great interest, pondering where to set up the Taoist site. His gaze fixed on Buzhou Mountain, he shook his head slightly, a place mired in cause and effect, not good!
His gaze shifted to the great marshes in the North, dense forests, and abundant resources, but lacking the aesthetic realm of immortals, not good!
His eyes moved to the South, situated on plains, a place where myriad beings thrive endlessly, but not suitable for suppressing Jie Sect’s Destiny.
Finally, Tongtian turned his eyes towards the Overseas, his eyes suddenly brightened, there were islands in the sea, suitable for setting up the Big Array.
...
Outside, Bai Jin used his mana to tidy himself up before flying towards Yuqing Peak and landing atop it.
An unfriendly voice suddenly rang out: "Elder brother, are you here to complain?"
Bai Jin looked in the direction of the voice, only to see Ci Hang, with a swollen nose and bruised face, slowly walking over from the bamboo forest nearby, his handsome face somewhat distorted, even bearing a noticeable fist imprint, looking rather miserable.
Bai Jin barely suppressed his smile and said, "Junior brother, what happened to you? Did you fall while walking?"
Ci Hang’s voice suddenly rose, furiously shouting, "How could this happen, and you pretend not to know? A nighttime ambush, lacking morals, is this the cultivation practice of your Jie Sect?!"
Bai Jin helplessly said, "Junior brother, might there be some misunderstanding? As the Eldest disciple, I guarantee it must not have been our Jie Sect disciples acting, would any of my fellow disciples from Jie Sect stoop to launching a sneak attack?
"Did you perhaps have enemies before you joined our sect? Maybe it was an enemy seeking revenge."
Ci Hang furiously shouted, "All Jie Sect disciples are like rats, engaging in despicable acts..."
Bai Jin’s tone turned cold, saying: "Master, master, also a father figure, whom are you scolding?"
Ci Hang’s face changed, his rage cooled immediately; he turned, facing Shangqing Peak and with a thud knelt on the ground, trembling all over.
Bai Jin flung his robe and strode towards Shangqing Peak; passing by Ci Hang who didn’t even dare to lift his head, terrified.
Bai Jin arrived before Yuqing Palace, performed a bowing gesture and said, "Disciple seeks an audience with Master, please grant your presence."
The doors of Yuqing Palace creaked open, and Bai He, walked out from the palace, performing a bowing gesture and said, "Old Master invites Elder brother inside!"
Bai Jin stood up, greeted Bai He with a friendly nod, adjusted his clothes, and walked into the great hall.
Inside the hall, Bai Jin knelt on a cushion, bowed and said, "Disciple pays respects to Master."
Sitting in the principal seat, Primordial nodded and said, "Rise!"
"Thank you, Master!" Bai Jin sat cross-legged on the cushion, his posture upright.
Primordial chuckled and said, "You haven’t visited in some days."
Bai Jin respectfully replied, "Indeed, there have been many matters on the mountain of late - numerous frictions between disciples of both Daoist sects; as the elder brother, I always have to mediate and adjust."
Primordial shook his head and replied, "It’s enough that you have this intention; some matters can’t be forced, let nature take its course."
Bai Jin nodded, honestly saying, "I’ve previously visited Eldest Uncle, and he has already made the severity clear to me, I have also understood the reasons, in the disputes over the great Dao, there can be no concessions."
"It’s good that you understand!"
