Chapter 100, Return to Kunlun Mountain

Chapter 100: Chapter 100, Return to Kunlun Mountain

Guang Chengzi leaped ten meters, landing on a rock before turning to gaze at the sea of clouds, and declared resolutely, "Bai Jin has already left Kunlun Mountain. From now on, we must redouble our efforts to show Master the excellence of his disciples, and also to reveal Bai Jin’s true treacherous face."

The other Chan Sect Immortals all nodded vigorously and replied in unison, "Yes!"

For a moment, the Chan Sect disciples were spirited and filled with fighting resolve.

"Second Master, I’ve come to see you~" A cheerful voice streaked across the sky.

All the Chan Sect Immortals stiffened up, and quickly looked up to the sky, only to see a familiar figure standing upon a drifting white cloud.

Ci Hang murmured, "He’s here again! He’s come again!"

Guang Chengzi shouted, "Hurry, let’s ascend the mountain!"

The fourteen Chan Sect disciples scrambled to climb up.

Boom! The sound of falling rocks echoed.

The Chan Sect disciples looked up only to see a massive rock tumbling down from above, smashing into the mountainside, breaking apart the mountain body and descending with a rolling cascade of rocks, the big stone still shimmering with Upper Pure Immortal Light.

Guang Chengzi looked up to the sky and roared in anger, "Bai Jin! You despicable villain!"

Boom! The giant rock crashed into the center of the gathering of Chan Sect disciples.

"Ah~"

"Ah~"

"Damn it!"

...

Amidst the screams of agony, the Chan Sect disciples were sent flying like birds with broken wings, spinning down into the sea of clouds.

Atop the peak of Kunlun Mountain, Bai Jin was also taken aback. I just wanted to send a friendly greeting, how did you all end up flying? Silently putting down the large rock in his hand, he turned and ran towards the Yuxu Palace, while shouting, "Master, Master, something bad happened!"

From within the gates of Yuxu Palace came a voice of authority, "Enter!"

Bai Jin ran straight into the Yuxu Palace and knelt on the prayer mat, bowing and saying, "Disciple, greets Master."

Sitting in the main seat, Primordial Venerable said with a smile, "Get up! What sort of behavior is this shouting and screaming?"

Bai Jin got up and sat cross-legged on the prayer mat, anxiously saying, "Master, something terrible has happened! I witnessed with my own eyes how all your disciples were sent flying by a suddenly appearing falling rock."

"How come I saw it as you doing it on purpose?"

Uh~ Bai Jin touched his nose and said with a sheepish laugh, "Disciple just wanted to play a joke on them, who knew they would be so fragile?"

"I sealed their cultivation, punishing them to climb the mountain to temper their hearts."

The hall fell silent for a moment, Bai Jin silently mourned for his junior brothers of the Chan Sect, then naturally changed the subject, saying cheerfully, "Master, guess what your disciple has brought for you?"

"Hehe~ What delicious concoction have you come up with this time?"

"With a heart as immense as the heavens, indeed nothing can be hidden from Master!"

Bai Jin stretched out his hands, and a several-meter-wide scallop appeared in his grasp, still steaming hot, with vermicelli inside like dragon whiskers and various seasonings sprinkled on top, making it look very appetizing.

"Master, this is the Dragon Whisker Scallop Soup that your disciple has meticulously created. This is the first successful batch, and I immediately brought it to you, Master."

Primordial said helplessly, "You! If you spent half the effort on cultivation that you do on creating food, you wouldn’t end up..." His tone suddenly paused.

Bai Jin said expectantly, "Master, wouldn’t end up how? Do you mean if I devoted half the effort from creating food to cultivation, I could reach the Daluo level?"

Primordial coughed and said, "Given your aptitude, it seems there wouldn’t be much difference."

Bai Jin instantly fell silent, his heart twitching. You’ve really pierced my heart, Master; nothing less than a great amount of Immortal Materials and Divine Treasures could mend it.

With a beckoning hand from Primordial, the hot scallop flew up towards him, hovering in front of his face.

Primordial looked at Bai Jin.

Bai Jin immediately understood and turned his head to glance left and right, then said, "Master, may your disciple have the honor to take a look at your new Tao Palace?"

"Go ahead!"

"Thank you, Master!" Bai Jin stood up and bowed, then walked towards the side.

After a while, Bai Jin completed a full circuit and re-entered through the main gate.

Primordial sat on the main seat, the scallop now nowhere in sight.

Bai Jin sat cross-legged on a cushion and praised, "Master, your Tao Palace is truly majestic and grand, even better than the ones belonging to my Master and Eldest Uncle."

Primordial chuckled, "Bai Jin, aren’t you afraid of getting beaten for saying that? If Tongtian finds out you’ve belittled his Tao Palace, you’re in for it."

Bai Jin looked up and said righteously, "Master, you know me; I’m the most simple and honest, the least likely to lie. I would say the same even in front of my Master."

"Then tell me, what’s so good about my Yuxu Palace?"

"It’s big!"

Primordial was taken aback, big? Aren’t all Saint Palaces equally grand, without distinction in size?

Bai Jin said animatedly, "I’ve visited the Tao Palaces of my Master and Eldest Uncle, and none are as grand as yours, Master. Their palaces measure only two thousand nine hundred meters, whereas yours, Master, spans a full three thousand, firmly surpassing theirs!"

Primordial frowned and asked seriously, "Are you saying their palaces are only two thousand nine hundred meters and not a full three thousand?"

Bai Jin nodded earnestly, "Not full, indeed."

"Why is that?"

"My Master says the divination must not reveal all; due to the Heavenly Dao is Unpredictable, deeds should not be exhausted; because once all is done, the path is sealed. The Tao has fifty to manifest, minus one. Perfection is but the end.

Eldest Uncle says to hold and fill is not as good as stopping in time; to temper and sharpen cannot preserve for long. A hall filled with gold and jade cannot be defended; pride in wealth and honor breeds its own faults. Achieve success, then retreat; this is the way of Heaven."

Primordial felt slightly dazed, a touch of discomfort surfacing in his heart. Have my junior brother and elder brother come to think alike? Now it seems I, in contrast, am ostentatiously sharp-edged.

Primordial coughed, then said with a laugh, "Excessive perfection is the greatest imperfection; the Tao encompasses three thousand changes, infinite and boundless."

With a wave of his hand, the entire palace ignited in a golden flame, within which the palace started to shrink, ejecting some superfluous materials that floated outside the palace, radiating with a treasure’s glow.

The flames suddenly condensed, and the Yuxu Palace had shrunk to two thousand nine hundred meters, no different from the Biyou Palace and the Doushuai Temple.

Primordial looked down at Bai Jin and said gently, "You came specifically to remind me, didn’t you?"

Bai Jin sheepishly replied, "Indeed, nothing can escape Master’s discerning eyes."

Primordial laughed heartily, "Speak directly if there’s anything in the future. Do you think your Master is so petty? Offering food and praising the grandeur of the Yuxu Palace, beating around the bush is indeed exhausting."

"Master, I actually do have a matter at hand."

"Speak!"

"Master, the leftover materials on the outside, may I have them?"

"If you want them, take them!"

"Thank you, Master!" Bai Jin bowed excitedly.

Primordial’s heart stirred, and he furrowed his brow, saying gravely, "Bai Jin, you return first. I must pay a visit to the Nuwa Palace."

"Master, your disciple bids farewell." Bai Jin stood up, bowed respectfully, without further inquiry, turned, and walked away.
