Chapter 147: Terrifying Battle... Aurora Arrives!

At the same time, a playful lady from the Black Rain Pavilion was heading toward Kranos’s location at rapid speed.

"I can still sense his aura," Aurora smiled as she sped up, and in the blink of an eye, she had entered into Kranos’s Immortal World.

...

Under the silent veil of midnight, a piercing screech rang out from the skies as dozens of shadows poured over the rooftops like a wave of darkness.

Black-clad figures leapt from building to building with eerie grace, each one wearing a similarly colored mask.

At the forefront was Desmond, whose eyes narrowed with anticipation. Behind him were the dozens of assassins from the Scarlet Moon Organization.

In a matter of seconds, the house was surrounded.

Not a single sound came from them, only the heavy aura pressing down like the storm before a battle.

Inside the house, Kathryn’s eyes snapped open the moment she sensed their presence, and she frowned. They’ve found us already?

Her thoughts went to the shadow she had previously encountered, and she immediately understood the reason they were caught. But what or who is that shadow? Kathryn was puzzled, but she didn’t have the time to think about these things.

Without hesitation, she stood up, and immediately her green divine flames lit up across her skin. They danced like spirits, casting long shadows across her walls.

In the next moment, a sword pierced through her door, aiming straight for her throat.

This time she didn’t get angered over the assassination. She calmly stepped sideways, causing the blade to miss her by mere inches.

Her palm rose, and a wave of flame burst forth, evaporating the entire front half of the assassin.

At that same instant, several more masked figures crashed through the walls of the house.

With a bang, the house was shattered, raising a gust of wood, stones, and dust.

Kranos opened his eyes, sensing the aura of killing intent. Without even standing, he activated Time Pause, causing time around him to halt.

The assassins who had breached the walls and were headed toward his room were frozen in midair, their blades suspended just inches from his body.

Kranos rose to his feet, drew his sword from the time-space, and in a single motion, sliced cleanly through the throats of three assassins.

As time resumed, the blood sprayed outward like a fountain.

More assassins rushed in from the hallway.

Kranos activated Acceleration while using the Heaven and Earth Movement Technique. The world around him seemed to slow as his own movements accelerated.

Instantly, his sword danced around the room, cutting arcs through the air, each movement fast and precise.

Outside, Kevin stood on the rooftop with his bow already drawn.

Arrows shot through the sky with pinpoint accuracy, each one striking the vital points of the masked assassins trying to scale the building. Surprisingly, none of his arrows missed a single target. As soon as they struck an assassin dead, the arrows would immediately vanish.

One arrow pierced through the eye of a God Realm assassin, pinning him to a nearby wall before he could even scream.

Meanwhile, Kathryn stepped out of her room, now surrounded by enemies. Ten assassins leapt toward her from different directions. All of them were at the God Incarnate Realm. Although they had their weapons drawn, they didn’t plan to kill her.

Her expression remained calm as she whispered a few words. Instantly, the space around her twisted, and with a low hum, the space collapsed around the assassins.

They plummeted into a void, their screams swallowed by the empty space before it closed with a snapping sound. The moment she executed the technique, her expression changed slightly as though she was in great pain for a moment. However, she only took a moment to calm herself.

She raised her hand toward a group of Monarch Realm assassins, and immediately divine green flames erupted and surged like a tide.

The entire hallway lit up with a wave of emerald fire, burning down everything in its path. Even the walls began to melt as the temperature soared.

However, the assassins seemed endless. Since we have just one month left, we can use the starship and head over there. However, we can’t enter yet as it is not yet time, Kathryn muttered inwardly, then turned to glance toward Kranos and her brother.

One masked man with crimson armor appeared before Kranos, his blade wrapped in dark lightning.

"You’re quite fast," the assassin said.

Kranos didn’t respond but instead dashed forward. He could see that just like the others, the man had a unique element, which was the black lightning from before. He didn’t know the special qualities of the lightning, but he could tell that it wouldn’t be anything ordinary.

Their blades clashed, creating shockwaves that tore through the broken furniture. The assassin weaved lightning through his strikes, as though he had calculated each of Kranos’s moves.

However, Kranos relied on his terrifying movement technique to flicker unpredictably as he struck from strange angles.

Every time their blades connected, sparks flew like stars. Even with Kranos’s time ability, he couldn’t get an advantage over the man for a few seconds, as the man’s speed was too fast.

Just when the man let his guard down slightly, Kranos capitalized on it to use an afterimage and multiple time clones to strike at him. In that brief moment of vulnerability, Kranos’s blade pierced through his chest.

As the body collapsed, another attacker flew in from the side, only to be met by Kevin’s arrow. It drilled into his shoulder and pinned him mid-air for Kathryn’s flame to consume in the blink of an eye.

All around the trio, chaos unfolded.

The house had long since become a war zone.

Kathryn stood at the center, her green flames taking the form of wings. With every step she took, space twisted violently, creating a protective domain around them.

But even she began to sweat.

The purple-masked commander watched from a nearby rooftop. His gaze was cold and unmoving.

He raised a hand, and soon ten elite God Realm assassins emerged from the shadows. Each one had assassinated countless cultivators. Each of them held enough power to destroy a small city.

"Kill the anomaly," he ordered, and immediately they vanished into the wind.

Inside the battlefield, Kranos breathed heavily. Cuts lined his arms and back. His time techniques were draining his reserves faster than he had expected, and he even felt that soon, his mana would be exhausted.

Kevin had already taken two wounds, blood trailing down his arm, causing his breathing to be ragged.

Kranos clenched his sword tighter the moment he saw the ten mysterious assassins appear. He could tell at a glance that they were vastly different from the ones they had been fighting.

"They’re sending stronger ones." Kranos guessed they probably wanted to test them and weaken them with the first set of assassins. He was slightly annoyed at the thought. However, he still quickly activated a wide-range absorption technique. Immediately, everything around him turned to dust.

Kathryn’s lips were pale. She was slightly exhausted, but her gaze remained locked on the rooftop where the purple-masked man stood. She knew that only by killing this God Realm assassin who was in charge could she fully control the battle.

Just then, a whistling sound resounded, drawing everyone’s gaze.

A childish teenage girl’s voice echoed in the air.

"How lively... hehe, not fair, you are all having fun without me"
