Chapter 249 249: Crash out.

They were all in silence because all of them understood what it meant. They all thought about the same as Stephen in their own way, but one thing was clear.

Benjamin really fucked up.

There were no plans they talked about, not a single one. They didn't even have time to talk, and Benjamin left them to go to James and now calls them with this bullshit, that he said to James he needs to be arrested to play it more… what the fuck is this…

Even if the thought about it was outrageous, but to actually say this, into his eyes, knowing very well that he is already in a line where if they say something bad, he can crash out and then they're done… and he said it… to him… said that they thought about this plan.

A plan where the biggest drug lord, the most infamous and powerful mafia boss, is going to be arrested to play it out cool… Benjamin truly went overboard with it and now, the most important thing about it is that he didn't just fuck up his reputation in James's eyes, but all of them.

Each one of them's trust, which is not much, but maybe a drop that built up during this whole situation that surrounded them now was nonexistent. At least, as Linda thought about it, and she just got more furious.

"Now he's fucking going to be paranoid…" Thomas whispered, as in front of his eyes he already saw Lucian, how he became that paranoid serial killer who even killed his most trusted men when he was out… the one that didn't care about anything but grabbing power with blood.

"No it—"

"Benjamin… you really think saying to him that we fake arrest him… he's not going to question us…?" Linda asked again, her eyes closed, grinding her teeth, ready to fucking explode.

"Why would—"

"Because he is a fucking gangster! That's why, you fucking dumb fucker!" She finally popped. "How the fuck are you going to say into his eyes this bullshit?! You think he will look at us how he looked before? You think he's not going to question any of our moves or plot against us?! What if he already did? What if he fucking leaked something, if he kills someone, then we're all fucked, not just you but us, the fucking country, everybody, you motherfucker!" She screamed so much at the phone that her saliva flew everywhere, even spit at Stephen's face. "That fucking little trust he had in us is now all vanished because you can't fucking shut your rotten fucking mouth for a second!" She breathed heavily as she stared at the phone. "You are the director of the biggest fucking agency and you can't think straight when you're with him?!"

Silence. There was silence, as she just stared at one spot, still breathing like a bull, waiting for Benjamin to say something back.

"Maybe… uhh… I fucked up, but still, he isn't holding any—"

"Holding what?!" She again screamed so much that even outside, the secret service agents wanted to go in to check what the fuck was happening. "You don't know and can't even understand what is happening in his head! Nobody could, not even a fucking therapist or a psychologist because he is madness, a fucking monster who kills and popped out a fucking eye with his finger! I saw it with my fucking eyes when he did it! You don't know what he thinks or what his next steps are because he is a broken, shattered, crazy motherfucker!"

Well yeah, she was screaming the truth wholeheartedly, the truth that nobody knows what his next steps will be. Can't even predict it, because he can change in a second like how when Rafael and Hans died, everyone thought and predicted he would stay low but he just straight went in and did his job without caring about anything.

That's the danger itself, which Linda knew pretty much. That he didn't care about a single thing, did not give a fuck about anything. If he decided to do something, he would do it. Or if he ordered something, his men would do it without a second thought.

This is the worst thing about James that he seems like, and is, somebody who thinks, who can move, who can plan, who can do things that no one else can… and he can switch and be a ruthless motherfucker in a second, who doesn't give a fuck about consequences or more like, he wants those consequences. He wants to thrive in the blood, in the chaos.

She saw it with her own eyes before she fainted. She saw his face, his calm demeanor, that smile, the way he shot that officer without even a single flicker of emotion in him, like it wasn't even him… and then the way he did it… popped out the eyes and shot the chief's head to pieces. The brain parts everywhere, the blood, the smell…

And now there was a chance, like how Stephen thought about it… a chance that now her eyes and their eyes would be popped out… that her family wouldn't be safe, even in Maraci or at the fucking highest mountain in the world… because the wolfs of James will hunt them down.

"Don't panic," Benjamin's voice came again. "Everything is—"

"No, not—"

"Shut the fuck up, Linda!" Benjamin raised his voice suddenly. "For a second, shut up your crying bitch-ass mouth and listen to me, because with your fucking screaming, nothing's going to work out."

Now it was something else, because indeed Linda shut the fuck up and she wasn't even furious… no she became calm… the worst type of rage where somebody is calm seems okay..

"He is going to go to Maraci. He would have gone anyway. He's going to spend three weeks there, so in the meantime, we can prepare all of our plans and operations, and when he comes back with a clear mind and state, we can work hand in hand with him."

Stephen and Thomas said nothing back to Benjamin as he finished.… well, they couldn't, because looking at Linda, she was smiling with still her eyes closed, and they knew that this whole thing would be another pile of shit thrown onto the existing ones.

The Justice Minister arguing with an agency director is something that is… well, not ideal, to say the least. Not at all, when they are supposed to work together in a time where the smallest misstep can cause their downfall.
