Chapter 29  Where Did Gu Xu Learn All These Nonsensical Theories?

The moment they smelled the aroma of food, all three of them felt their hunger grow!

Gu Xu glanced at the small restaurants lining the street. After swallowing, he turned to Xiao Xiao and asked, “Xiao Xiao, what do you want to eat?”

Without hesitation, Xiao Xiao immediately answered, “I want rice bowls! Let’s go eat rice bowls!”

Both Gu Xu and the cameraman had no objections, and they readily agreed. Soon, the three of them arrived at a small restaurant that served rice bowls.

Xiao Xiao ordered her dish and then turned to the cameraman, asking, “Uncle, what are you going to eat? I’m treating!”

The cameraman felt deeply moved. He silently thought to himself, What a good kid!

But then, thinking about being tricked by Gu Xu, his heart ached. He quietly shot a few glares at Gu Xu’s direction.

When facing Xiao Xiao’s question, the cameraman responded, “No need, I’ll treat you and your dad.”

Xiao Xiao tilted her head, looking at him in confusion.

“Why?”

“Is it because your money is about to expire too?”

The cameraman had no choice but to nod.

“Yep.”

He just couldn’t let Xiao Xiao spend her money!

How could he let a child who wasn’t even six years old treat him to a meal? He just couldn’t accept it!

Gu Xu overheard their conversation but didn’t say anything. His expression remained calm as usual. The rice bowls were served quickly. Within about ten minutes, their food arrived at the table. The three of them dug into their meals.

However, during the meal, Gu Xu kept directing Xiao Xiao, asking her to pass him napkins, hold the spoon, and so on. Just when it seemed like things would quiet down, Gu Xu asked for vinegar again. He had her running around, and Xiao Xiao was getting a bit dizzy with all the instructions.

The cameraman couldn’t take it anymore and sighed in exasperation.

He looked at Gu Xu and said, “Why do you seem more like a kid than Xiao Xiao?”

“With the way you’re acting, you look about three years old, no older!”

Gu Xu’s expression froze for a moment, but it quickly returned to normal. His voice carried a tone of smugness as he responded, “You don’t understand, I’m training Xiao Xiao!”

At this, Gu Xu raised his eyebrows and glanced over at Xiao Xiao, lifting his chin as he asked, “Xiao Xiao, isn’t that right?”

Xiao Xiao calmly nodded.

“Yes.”

“This behavior of Dad’s means ‘don’t do unto others what you don’t want done to yourself!’”

The cameraman was bewildered. How could that phrase relate to the current situation?

Xiao Xiao continued explaining, “What it means is…”

“If you don’t want to hold something, you make someone else hold it for you!”

“Dad also said, ‘It’s not about others not knowing you, it’s about not knowing others.’”

“It means if you don’t know how to command others, you’re not smart! You’re a big fool!”

The cameraman was about to spit out his food in surprise. He barely managed to hold it in, but his expression was one of complete disbelief.

What the heck!

How had Confucius’ words been twisted like this?

This teaching was just too ridiculous!

What on earth was Gu Xu thinking?

The cameraman was beyond words. He looked at Gu Xu with a complicated expression, as if saying, “Can you be any more ridiculous?”

Gu Xu remained calm and unfazed, completely ignoring the cameraman’s glare. Xiao Xiao, however, didn’t notice the odd atmosphere and continued, “Dad also said, ‘In a group of three, there must be one who can be my teacher!’”

“It means that when three people fight, one of them will eventually want to be my disciple!”

Xiao Xiao was on a roll, eagerly sharing everything her dad had taught her. Perfectly repeating all of Gu Xu’s words, as if there was nothing wrong.

She went on to say, “Also, ‘If you’re already here, then settle in!’”

“That means, since we’re already here, we might as well just bury ourselves here!”

The cameraman could hardly believe his ears. He felt his mind go blank. Xiao Xiao was explaining these phrases with such seriousness, her expression as if she was about to join a political party. Her devotion to these teachings was almost frightening.

The cameraman swallowed hard, his face completely blank. He had no idea what words could describe his current feelings. It was a mix of confusion, disbelief, and sheer amazement.

Xiao Xiao continued, “Then there’s ‘At thirty, stand firm; at forty, no doubts; at fifty, follow your destiny; at sixty, listen to others; and at seventy, do whatever you want.’”

“That means, as long as I’m strong, thirty people can make me stand up and fight!”

“At forty people rush at me!”

“Fifty people will be defeated by me and understand that this is destiny!”

At this point, Xiao Xiao was dramatically shaking her head.

“Dad says that destiny can’t be avoided! It’s just how things are!”

“Who am I to be beaten? No one can beat me when they team up!”

She sighed again, clearly pretending to be the great, undefeatable warrior.

Xiao Xiao then went on to explain more of Gu Xu’s sayings, “Sixty people say nice things, and that can calm me down!”

“Seventy means total chaos!”

As Xiao Xiao finished speaking, the live stream chat exploded in laughter. The audience was stunned and couldn’t stop reacting.

“Quick, call an ambulance!”

“I don’t even know what words to use to describe my feelings right now!”

“Speechless… truly eye-opening!”

“One person dares to teach, and the other dares to learn!”

“Confucius must be turning in his grave right now!”

“Not just turning, he’s probably climbing out of his grave in anger…”

“Gu Xu is so irresponsible! He’s teaching nonsense!”

“So what? I think it’s hilarious… so fun!”

“Confucianism isn’t all that great anyway! It’s just a way to manipulate the common people!!”

“That’s what our teacher says too!”

“Alright, everyone, stop arguing! Let’s not get too serious!”

“Wait, Xiao Xiao is really amazing! If I had to repeat that, I wouldn’t be able to!”

“Am I the only one who didn’t understand all of this? So much of it is over my head!”

“This is the most bizarre interpretation of traditional culture I’ve ever heard!”

The viewers were losing it, and the father-daughter duo had become the highlight of the day.

They were a real crowd-pleaser!

Of course, there were those who thought Gu Xu was just playing around and disrespecting traditional culture. Some felt he was betraying his heritage.

In the studio, everyone was laughing hysterically. The father and daughter were just too funny!

Yang Mi, however, was struggling to hold back her laughter, feeling a mix of emotions—she didn’t know whether to laugh or to be angry. She had no idea that Gu Xu was teaching Xiao Xiao such absurd things!

The most frustrating part was that Xiao Xiao was actually learning them. She really needed to have a serious talk with Gu Xu about his methods of educating Xiao Xiao. At this point, Yang Mi was left speechless, feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to process everything.
