Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth -
Chapter 622: Shaymin
Despite its goofy, friendly appearance—and yes, Dragonite really was a big softie, often helping out wild Pokémon in trouble—its strength was absolutely no joke.
Under the force of its Dragon Rush, the entire Grassy Terrain was shredded by the sheer intensity of draconic energy.
At the same time, the ground beneath Dragonite shattered as it charged forward, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
"Venaaa!"
The target of Dragon Rush was Venusaur. Sensing the danger, it immediately unleashed Earth Power. The ground trembled as a massive boulder erupted in front of Dragonite’s path.
BOOM!
The rock might as well have been tofu—Dragonite smashed through it without slowing down.
But the very next second, Bullet Seed from Cacturne and Seed Bomb from Venusaur came barreling in one after another. The combined attacks eroded the energy of Dragonite’s Dragon Rush.
Under the relentless assault of the two Grass-types, Dragonite’s Dragon Rush was finally halted—just thirty meters short of Venusaur.
"Cacturne, look out!"
Elliot’s urgent warning reached Cacturne’ ears just as an unbelievably sharp pressure descended upon it from above.
Kartana: Sacred Sword!
A milky-white blade slashed downward toward Cacturne’ head. The latter reacted instantly—without even looking up, it activated Protect.
The Sacred Sword met the barrier—
RIIIP!
A sound like fabric being torn apart echoed as the Protect was sliced clean through.
Cacturne barely had time to register its shock before the blade flashed white—and the next thing it knew, its body was sent flying from the sheer force of the strike.
Venusaur quickly extended its vines to catch Cacturne. The latter wore a pained expression—if Protect hadn’t absorbed part of the Sacred Sword’s power, it might have already gone down for good.
Not satisfied with just one strike, Kartana blurred into a streak of light, charging toward Cacturne again.
Venusaur frantically lashed out with dozens of vines, trying to block Kartana—but the nimble swordsman weaved through them effortlessly, its small frame dodging even as the vines formed a near-impenetrable net.
Fury Cutter!
Kartana’s limbs transformed into razor-sharp blades, striking Cacturne in a blinding flurry of slashes. The cactus, already weakened, had no means to fight back.
"Vena—!"
Venusaur tried to intercept with more vines, but Kartana was now pressed right against Cacturne—any attack Venusaur used risked hitting its ally instead.
The vines shot through the air—only to be snatched mid-flight by a clawed hand.
Dragonite stared at Venusaur, then yanked hard, pulling the massive flower dinosaur off-balance.
Fire Punch!
BOOM!
As Venusaur was dragged forward, Dragonite’s flaming fist slammed into it point-blank. The explosive force of the fire, combined with raw physical power, sent Venusaur hurtling backward. At the same time, Dragonite released the vines, letting momentum do the rest.
WHOOSH!
Venusaur’s massive body shot through the air like a cannonball.
Kartana, mid-Fury Cutter, sensed the incoming projectile and darted upward with effortless grace.
The next second—
CRASH!!
Venusaur plowed straight into Cacturne, sending both Pokémon slamming into the Protective Barrier at the edge of the field.
Elliot silently recalled them into their Poké Balls.
In the face of overwhelming strength, even perfect teamwork couldn’t bridge the gap.
Did Dragonite and Kartana coordinate? Barely. Compared to Venusaur and Cacturne’ seamless synergy, their "teamwork" might as well have been nonexistent.
They won for one simple reason: their individual power far surpassed their opponents’.
Julian also recalled his Pokémon as Elliot sent out his next fighter for singles.

Looking at the small hedgehog-like Pokémon on the field, Julian blinked in surprise.
He hadn’t expected it to be Shaymin, the mythical Grass-type Pokémon.
While many top-tier trainers were aware that Elliot owned a Shaymin—Julian just hadn’t researched the old man's team beforehand, so he was a bit surprised.
And this wasn’t just any Shaymin—it was a late-stage Pseudo-Champion-level Pokémon. In terms of actual combat power, it was absolutely on par with peak Pseudo-Champions.
No wonder Elliot was the longest-serving National-level Gym Leader. His strength and depth of experience were not to be underestimated.
Don’t be fooled by how many legendary and mythical Pokémon Julian had—he was simply very lucky. Most trainers would go their whole lives without even seeing one, let alone capturing it.
'If we’re playing the mythical card… then I’ll match it.'
He tossed a Poké Ball.
SCREEEECH!
A crimson-winged Moltres erupted onto the field, its blazing feathers painting the sky red.
Originally, Celebi would have been a decent choice—but Julian had practically spoiled it rotten. At this point, the chubby little time traveler was more of a walking embarrassment than a battler.
Plus, Julian wasn’t keen on revealing Celebi’s existence just yet.
Though Celebi 'desperately' wished he would. That way, it could strut around in public with him—or, more importantly, drag him to every food stall in the city.

High in the air, Moltres hovered with wings outstretched, staring down at its tiny opponent. From the tiny Pokémon, Moltres sensed an aura very similar to its own.
Julian gently tapped the Poké Ball on his belt—the one that held Metagross, who was clearly displeased.
It had fully expected to be sent out—only for Moltres to take the spotlight instead.
'What, am I not flashy enough for you now?'
Even Arcanine’s Poké Ball was wobbling restlessly, as if saying: 'That little hedgehog? I could bite it to death in one chomp.'
Shaymin, however, stared up at Moltres with zero fear. Its tiny frame practically vibrated with fighting spirit, eyes blazing with challenge.
