Just like king-rank Pokemons, pseudo-champion ranks were also divided into tiers. From Tier 1 to Tier 3. Charizard and Garchomp were in tier 1.

But Charizard was special from the start of its life. Due to it higher mastery over its ability and special ability, its fire could burn almost everything. It was obviously more powerful than a normal tier 1 pseudo-champion rank Pokemon.

It had been training under Ninetales for a long time and it had learned some new moves. Yet, the thing that it improved the most under the training of Ninetales was battle experience.

Ninetales had promised to Axel, that it would train Charizard to become a veteran fighter and it had kept its promise. So, even though the stats didn’t show much of Charizard’s progress, it had truly changed.

The aura emitted by Charizard was something most people would not be able to experience in their life time. It was very suppressing but it was also exciting to observe and look at.

A red hue covered its entire body as if the whole body was emitting powerful heat waves. The crowd who were near the vicinity of Charizard could feel the heat even though they were protected by many enhancements.

Yes, since the battle between a pseudo-champion rank Pokemons were going to be held, there were a lot of upgrades in the stadium which had cost the Blaze family some pretty penny.

But did it mean that Garchomp was weak?

"Now, the challenger, the main Pokemon of Cynthia, a pseudo-legendary Pokemon, Garchomp!!!", shouted the commentator, and the door on the other side of the stadium opened.

Everyone could see a tall Garchomp slowly walking towards the stadium but this Garchomp was different.

Not only it was taller and bigger than its normal counterparts, it had many red colored scars all over its body as if it was an experienced solider who had fought countless battles and the wounds were its trophy.

But the crowd noticed something different from this Garchomp, something else. It didn’t have one of the horn-like appendages, as if it had been cleanly cut off. There was a huge wound mark instead.

Many people may not understand the importance of losing one of the body parts but those who did, just could not believe that it was walking properly.

These horn-like appendages may look small and insignificant, but they help in keeping the balance on the body of Garchomp. But it didn’t have one had it was maintain the balance. This showed it was a very experienced Pokemon.

An aura of dread and ferocity was subconsciously coming out of its body.

It went near Charizard and before Charizard could speak something, it used its hand gesturing it to stop saying anything and it spoke,

"If are going to say sorry, I don’t need your pity. I came here to show you that I can beat you, no matter how powerful you really are.", said Garchomp.

Its voice was amplified and everyone could hear it.

"Thank you for the clarification. I was told by my friends that I should apologize but since you don’t want me to do it, it will save me some time.

I was told to be soft towards you but looking at you, I can tell that I can go all out. So, don’t expect me to go easy on you.

I will teach you again why I am better than you."

Hearing this Garchomp gave a small smile. It was happy that its rival had finally acknowledged it. Now, this was not only the battle of revenge for it but also the opportunity to show how much it had grown.

"Don’t expect me to go easy on you too. I cannot guarantee the safety of your life.", said Garchomp.

"I would expect nothing more. I will give you 5 minutes to get ready. I don’t want to be called a party popper finishing the battle in a minute. So, enjoy.", said Charizard and went down and started to sleep.

"The mouth of that CHARIZARD!!!", shouted Cynthia from the top of its lungs.

This was the first time Axel had heard her use a loud voice. She normally didn’t bother to even speak.

Meanwhile, Lance smiled and looked at Axel saying, "I must say, Axel, Charizard might have the biggest balls than all of us. Look at his sleepy attitude in front of a predator like Garchomp."

Axel gave a light laugh and didn’t say anything.

Actually, there was a reason why Charizard was sleeping and giving Garchomp 5 minutes to get ready. Actually, there were 2 reasons.

The first was to rile up Garchomp and disbalance its fighting spirit. This might look like an old tactic but they were called old tactics because they work and had been working for a long time.

The second reason was that it was getting ready to prepare its new move which would increase its destructiveness from the start of the battle.

One of the loopholes of the battle’s rules was that the battle would not start until both of them said that they were ready to battle and Charizard just said to start the battle after 5 minutes.

So, they had to wait for 5 minutes. Yet, Garchomp was not worried about it. It sat on the ground and waited for Charizard. After training with Cynthia for so long, it had mastered to control its emotions.

Those 5 minutes passed very quickly and just when the time passed, Charizard opened its eyes and stood up.

The referee came forward and said,

"Are you both ready for battle?"

"Yes, I am"

"Yes, I am"

"Let the battle begin!!"

Both of them gave a loud roar. But Axel and Cynthia could tell that they had their own reasons for giving such a powerful roar.

Charizard used the move ’Dragon roar’. It had leveled up to level 40 and now it was more powerful than before.

Dragon roar (Charizard) (Level 40): The roar can decrease the special defense, defense, and speed of the target and also make them unable to move for some time. The rate of the effect depends on the aura clash of the user and the target.

Garchomp roared to use the move ’Sandstorm’. Instantly, the surroundings changed. The raging storm started to occur out of nowhere.

The intensity of the storm was very high. This was the power of a pseudo-legendary Pokemon who was a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon.

Even though the crowd was protected, they were also affected by the storm.

But Axel could see that there were some water bubbles inside the storm. Axel knew that the storm was not simple but he could not tell that to Charizard because it had fought this battle alone.

’Dragon roar’ did affect Garchomp lowering its overall defense and speed but it was not stunned by the roar. Its aura was quite powerful enough to resist it.

Charizard could not fly in this storm. It was having difficulty even seeing in this storm and Garchomp was ready to attack at that time. Garchomp came near and used the move ’Meance’. This lowered the attack, special attack, and speed of Charizard. Then it used a series of punches on Charizard.

These punches were filled with dragon-type energy and also fire energy. Charizard immediately used the move ’Dragon scales’ and now its whole body was covered in dragon scales.

Charizard started to parry the attacks from Garchomp but the physical powers of Garchomp were actually higher than Charizard.

This observation surprised Axel because he knew how powerful Charizard really was.

Charizard knew that it could not win the fistfight against Garchomp but its pride didn’t let it go down.

So, it started to use the move ’Hell fire punch’. The power of the punch was really hard and powerful. It had also leveled up and now it was very fast and powerful.

Finally, Charizard started to win the battle against that fist fight but Garchomp had the advantage of the terrain. The stormy terrain.

Its speed increased rapidly and it disappeared from sight. Then it started to attack Charizard and disappear from the storm.

The punch and kick from a pseudo-legendary Pokemon was not a joke. It was very powerful.

Charizard didn’t want to use all of its power right now but it had no choice. It cannot lose this battle.

So, it used a couple of moves that turned the table instantly.

First of all, it uses the move ’Sunny day’ which increases the heat and also the firepower of Charizard. Then it used ’Ash manipulation’ to create an extra armor and also its attack power. ’Ash manipulation’ had also improved a lot after the training.

Finally, it used the move ’Wing attack’.

’Wing attack’ had become one of its best-attacking moves now but as of right now, Charizard was not using this move to attack. It used this move to decrease the effects of storms.

Ash Manipulation (Charizard) (Level 40): Can create an armor of ash around the user to cover itself. This is highly effective for water-type attacks.

(Level 45): Can cover the target with ash which has a very high chance of getting burned.

(Level 50): While covering the target with ash, the user would suffocate and would be very difficult to move.

(Level 55): The solidify the ashes as a perfect armor.

(Level 60): Can be concentrated on the claws, teeth, and tip of the wings to heighten their sharpness and destructiveness.

Wing attack (Charizard) : (Level 40): It is sharper than before, like a sharp blade.

(Level 45): The blades have multiple edges making it more deadly.

(Level 50): The move would also increase the flight speed of the Pokemon.

(Level 55): The power of it could be concentrated in only 1 wing, increasing the power to new heights.

(Level 60): Can combine with its ability and hidden ability to increase the sharpness and speed.

Charizard knew that it could not win this battle in this storm. So, it went high in the sky using all of its power then it fired a powerful ’Flamethrower’ at Garchomp.

Garchomp could dodge the attack as its speed increased inside the storm but it didn’t. It fired a powerful ’Dragon breath’. The move was like a beam filled with dragon energy.

Charizard won this bout. Its special attack power was way higher than Garchomp. Axel realized that Garchomp was more of a physical attacker.

It was not that Charizard was not a physical attacker but it had also trained in special attack.

Suddenly, the wings and tail of Garchomp started to shine and it gave out a huge roar.

ROOOARRR

Then it suddenly jumped towards Charizard who was high in the sky. The jump was really commendable and it reached towards Charizard. A bone sword came out of its body and it struck Charizard with that move.

BANG!!!

Axel didn’t know how it could summon a bone sword from its body but the sword was really powerful and it had dealt massive damage to Charizard.

Charizard went down and it crashed to the ground. One might expect that it would take some time to stand up but it just stood up immediately roaring from pain.

"You have grown a lot. It looks like I will have to get serious now.", said Charizard with a smile.

It looked like it was enjoying the fight.

Coincidentally, Garchomp was also enjoying the fight.
