Chapter 99 - 99 99 He Lost
Chapter 99: Chapter 99 He Lost Chapter 99: Chapter 99 He Lost Ding Hao picked up the property certificate and the Gold Card with a suspicious look on his face.
He glanced at Qiao En and leisurely opened the property certificate with his fingers.
“En’en, you just got your property certificate? How did it end up on the ground? This is really important, you need to keep it safe.”
Ding Hao didn’t become suspicious, and he handed the property certificate and the Gold Card back to Qiao En.
“Got it.”
Qiao En took the items and pretended nothing was off as she walked toward the bedroom.
“Wait for me, I’m going to change clothes.”
Once the bedroom door was closed, Qiao En opened the property certificate.
This apartment had already been in Zhou Jin’an’s name, and he had said he wanted to give it to her, but Qiao En had refused.
She could never have guessed that he had transferred the apartment into her name a long time ago.
The Chengnan Apartment was located in the heart of Rong City, where property prices always rose and never fell; Qiao En’s apartment might not be large, but its total price was far from low.
That Gold Card, Qiao En had seen it before; Zhou Jin’an had once given it to her, but she didn’t accept it.
But now, both items had ended up in Qiao En’s hands.
What did Zhou Jin’an mean by this? Was he trying to keep her? Or wanting to compensate her?
Qiao En stared blankly into the mirror for a while, as Ding Hao became increasingly anxious outside the door.
“En’en, you are already beautiful; you don’t need to dress up expressly. Can you please hurry up? My mom has already called two or three times to hurry us.”
“I’ll be right there.”
Qiao En replied, and she put on makeup in front of the mirror, applying thick foundation to conceal the fatigue on her face.
It was her first time going home with Ding Hao, and she hadn’t dressed up particularly for the occasion.
They went downstairs together, and Ding Hao happily went to open the car door; Qiao En, however, unexpectedly caught a glimpse of Zhou Jin’an.
He stood under a hibiscus tree, with a dark expression and furrowed brows, his intense gaze fixed on her.
Qiao En missed the look, she saw it, but pretended not to.
“En’en, you look so beautiful today!”
Ding Hao did not skimp on praises, and Qiao En offered a coquettish laugh, “I need to match you today, of course I’ve got to be pretty, you’re very handsome today too!”
Her delicate voice was neither loud nor soft; Zhou Jin’an might have heard it, or might not, but he would definitely be able to see the harmonious and beautiful scene between Qiao En and Ding Hao.
Reveling in Qiao En’s rare praise, Ding Hao got carried away, forgetting the terms of their agreement; he leaned in and kissed Qiao En on the cheek.
“En’en, I love you!”
Ding Hao’s eyes brimmed with stars.
Qiao En’s brows furrowed momentarily, but in a flash, she showed a hint of bashfulness and bent down to get into the car.
The triumphant Ding Hao became even more smug; he hopped into the car in high spirits and, once inside, presumptuously tried to wrap his arm around Qiao En’s shoulder.
She shot him a cold glance and said, “Doctor Ding, do I need to get out of the car?”
Ding Hao’s head shook like a rattle, and he quickly returned to his own seat, sitting up straight and proper, “I was wrong, I swear, I won’t dare to overstep again.”
The Bentley left Chengnan Apartment, but Zhou Jin’an stood there for a long time without moving.
“Director Zhou, Mrs. Zhou and the young master are making a scene at the company again!”
Chen Yin’s phone call came through amidst the chaotic noise, and Zhou Jin’an could hear Yao Chuman’s arrogant voice.
“My son is the rightful CEO of Nanchen , he Zhou Jin’an has no right to sit in this position!”
His eyes instantly darkened and he responded, “I’ll be right there.”
When Zhou Jin’an arrived at Nanchen, Yao Chuman had occupied his office, leading Zhou Ziyan.
Chen Yin’s face was half swollen, clearly having been struck.
“Director Zhou, they’re in your office, I couldn’t stop them.”
Chen Yin twisted her willow-like eyebrows, her voice somewhat urgent.
“Take the rest of the day off, go to the hospital and have your injury checked.”
Zhou Jin’an instructed as he quickened his stride and headed straight for the office.
Pushing open the door, Zhou Ziyan sat in his executive chair, legs propped up on Zhou Jin’an’s desk.
“Yo, big brother finally came back!”
Zhou Ziyan was browsing through short videos. When Zhou Jin’an entered the room, Ziyan didn’t retract his brazenly stretched legs, nor did he stand up to offer his seat.
“Get out!”
Zhou Jin’an commanded coldly.
His face was cold, so was the look in his eyes, which he directed toward Zhou Ziyan like a knife.
Ziyan was so frightened that his legs shook and he nearly fell off the office desk.
“Is Jin’an back?”
Yao Chuman had been lounging on the guest sofa, fiddling with her freshly manicured nails, but now she stood up.
Her face, a mix of cosmetic enhancements and tough living, was full of smugness.
“Jin’an, we’re all family here, so let’s not beat around the bush. Nanchen has indeed always been under your management. But before your father died, he made a will, declaring that whoever of you three brothers has the Zhou family’s first grandson will take over Nanchen. Aunt Yao thought it wouldn’t matter to your two younger brothers. You’re the eldest, you were engaged, so having a child or two would be normal, right? Who would have thought that you, well, are incapable!”
“Mom, how can you say big brother is incapable? He’s a man; you can’t just say such things. By saying that, big brother will lose face.”
Zhou Ziyan interjected.
Mother and son were performing a duet, but in fact, they were there to mock Zhou Jin’an.
There was also an unfamiliar woman sitting in the room, wearing loose clothing; Zhou Jin’an didn’t recognize her.
“Would you please leave!”
Zhou Jin’an barked again.
Yao Chuman let out a light chuckle. She had stood up, but now she sat back down next to the woman.
“Today, I’m afraid the person who must leave is you.”
The smug look on Yao Chuman’s face intensified.
Chen Yin didn’t leave and was waiting by the door. Yao Chuman spotted her instantly, “What are you standing there for? I asked you to notify the board members for a meeting, have you done it?”
She was very rude to Chen Yin. Chen Yin didn’t move; she looked toward Zhou Jin’an.
Yao Chuman snorted, “Starting now, you are fired.”
“You don’t have that authority!”
The veins on Zhou Jin’an’s forehead throbbed as he stepped forward, grabbed Zhou Ziyan by the collar, and attempted to drag him out of the executive chair.
The woman who had been sitting suddenly stood up.
“Let go of him! Why are you bullying Ziyan?”
The woman was slim but exerted considerable force trying to pry loose Zhou Jin’an’s firm grip.
His eyes were wide with rage, his expression fierce, yet the woman showed no fear at all.
“Keke, big brother is just playing with me. How could he bully me?”
Zhou Ziyan tried to reassure the woman.
“Big brother, congratulate me. You’re going to be a granduncle. Keke is pregnant with my child, more than four months now.”
Only then did Zhou Jin’an notice that the woman’s belly was slightly swollen.
He was surprised, puzzled, and even disbelieving.
“How do you know?”
Zhou Jin’an squeezed the words out between clenched teeth.
Zhou Ziyan smiled and handed a piece of paper to Zhou Jin’an.
It was a DNA test report.
“Like you, I didn’t believe it at first. But now, with advanced technology, after the test, it was indeed my seed. Big brother, I defer to you!”
It felt as though the temperature in the room had suddenly dropped.
Zhou Jin’an had not expected Zhou Ziyan to outmaneuver him so swiftly.
He took the report and glanced at it, his eyes squinting into a line.
Yao Chuman sighed deeply, “Alas, man’s plans are inferior to Heaven’s. Even the heavens are on our side, mother and son. Ziyan may not be as capable as you, but he has been lucky. Jin’an, do we have the authority now?”
Zhou Ziyan, like a triumphant general, stood up, draped an arm around the woman’s shoulder, and began to survey the room.
“I don’t like the decor of this office, this chair isn’t comfortable, and this desk is not imposing enough. I intend to replace everything.”
Since ancient times, victors are kings, and losers are outlaws.
In this game, Zhou Jin’an had indeed lost.
