Chapter 647: Chapter 10 Is it the same? [Seeking monthly tickets!] _1

"A whole day and night have passed, where exactly is the princess?"

Straight lines of light flashed across the sky before gathering within the clouds. Unable to hold himself back any longer, Tian Mingtai finally lashed out.

He had led the troops of Taotie City with the initial intention to locate the princess of Gao Yue Country to win the monarch’s favor, and coupled with his uncle’s support, he wanted to secure the deal before the arrival of the people from Shu Mountain.

However, Han Lu, who was reputed to be the most adept at tracking, had led them on a flight which had already lasted a day and a night, and yet, there were still no results.

Han Lu had equally fallen into self-doubt. He sniffed the small bottle in his hand again, then inhaled strongly into the open air.

Streams of smoke transformed into a white dragon and rushed into his nostrils. He opened his eyes with unwavering certainty and declared: "The scent trail is right ahead, it’s fresh. We’re very close to the target."

"Even further ahead?" Tian Mingtai exclaimed in anger: "Any further and we’ll be out at sea! The Eastern Sea!"

"Isn’t it logical for the dragon that kidnapped the princess from Gao Yue Country to flee to the Eastern Sea, fearing punishment?" Han Lu suggested.

"Alright," Tian Mingtai nodded: "I hope we do find it."

Upon saying so, Han Lu took the lead and the troops set off once again.

After an unknown span of time, they finally crossed the coastline, faced the setting sun in the west, and arrived at the vast ocean bathed in the glow of twilight.

Han Lu suddenly halted.

"What’s wrong?" Tian Mingtai asked, "Did you find something?"

"The scent...ends here..." Han Lu stuttered nervously, "It’s gone."

"Gone?" Tian Mingtai gazed at the boundless sea, "Just like my prospects are gone?"

"There’s a possibility it went underwater... If we were to go down and search..." Han Lu said, "there might just be a chance we’ll find something."

"Alright, then you go down and search." Tian Mingtai, his temples throbbing in anger, decreed: "If you don’t find anything, then don’t bother returning."

By now, the people from Shu Mountain were probably at Gao Yue Country. They wasted so much time here, and the latter might have already completed their negotiation.

All of it was because of Han Lu.

He had been well known in Taotie City for his tracking abilities. It should have been easy for him to find the princess.

But who would have thought that things would turn out so disastrously this time around?

Han Lu felt unjustly accused, "If you hadn’t been wounded and we could have started earlier, we might have captured the evil dragon while it was still in its lair."

"Are you suggesting I deliberately allowed myself to get hurt?" Mentioning this only enraged Tian Mingtai further.

"Back then, you provoked him and employed your qi to oppress him. Was it intentional or just negligence?" Han Lu countered.

"I..." Tian Mingtai found himself speechless.

Initially, he saw that the disciple from Shu Mountain was young and had low cultivation levels. He figured he could easily subdue the disciple and avoid further troubles.

He never expected the disciple to be so formidable.

Still in shock, Tian Mingtai remembered how that kick almost landed him in his family’s ancestral grave to rest with his grandparents.

This prompted a deep self-reflection.

In terms of strength, even the weakest among Shu Mountain’s ranks was not someone Taotie City could afford to provoke. As long as the warriors from Shu Mountain respected the rules of commerce, Taotie City’s people should uphold the regulations.

He paused before adding, "In any case, will all of you stay here and continue searching for the princess. I will go back to Gao Yue Country to see how the current situation has turned out."

With that, he turned around and strode off, leaving his troops staring at each other in disbelief.

They hung in the air above the sea in dismay, gazing at the rising and falling tides, as each unsuccessful wave left them in despair.

...

Flower Savage Country only had one city, which was the capital.

Despite being a capital, it is merely a large pile of rock stacked together. However, the stone walls of the city are covered in an array of colourful vines and flowers, creating a stunning scene.

As the name suggests, the most profound impressions of Flower Savage Country in the Western Regions were indeed - flowers and its savage ways.

The reference to flowers indicates this land’s mild climate and rich plant life, resulting in blooming flowers all year round. From the palace to common houses, and even straw huts, all rooftops and walls were covered in flowers.

The ’savage’ label is due to the fact that this country was quite backward and retained a lot of tribal customs. This was not uncommon amongst the countries in the Western Regions. Across the vast desert sands, the natives of these various places were greatly varied in their level of civilization.

However, the most dazzling sight on top of Flower Savage City today was not the walls full of flowers.

It was a woman.

She was dressed in a white robe, silently standing on the city wall, gazing at the distant sky, as if waiting for someone.

Even from far away, without a clear view, one could sense an aura of her standing out from the world. Once her face was clear, everyone marvelled if a celestial being had descended to the earth.

She hadn’t been standing there for long before many people from Flower Savage Country stopped to watch.

From a distance, a brawny young man riding an exotic beast draped in vine armour emerged from the crowd with a smile on his face, "Beautiful lady, I am the prince of Flower Savage Country, may I personally escort you around our kingdom? You..."

Whoosh.

Before the prince could finish, he had disappeared.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself back in the palace, having been teleported over a dozen miles.

The people left in the original location were even more astonished. The reason no one dared to approach was because every man who tried to make advances disappeared inexplicably.

It was like a miracle.

This must be a celestial maiden, thought the people of Flower Savage Country.

After waiting for a while, a gust of wind suddenly rolled over from the distant sky. The wind roared past and landed on the city wall, transforming into a young man in a brightly coloured robe.

This gust of wind plunged directly into the woman’s arms. When it revealed itself, the two were already embracing tightly.

"I’ve rushed over as soon as I received your message, I hope you haven’t been waiting too long."

"No, I knew you would come as soon as possible."

"I’m sorry to have made you worried for so long."

"I understand that you would have come at the first possible moment if nothing was wrong."

Chu Liang held Miss Yi in his arms, and Jiang Yuebai also hugged his back. After a brief conversation, they embraced each other silently.

Although they hadn’t seen each other for years, both of them remained very composed.

Yet they both felt each other’s unwavering longing.

Only when the crowd gathering below grew larger did a clear cough sound: "Ahem, that’s enough, we’re in public."

Chu Liang’s gaze passed over Jiang Yuebai’s shoulder, and saw the figure of Immortal Qi Jing.

"Hehe." Only then did he quickly let go and respectfully said, "Senior."

With a wave of Immortal Qi Jing’s sleeve, a gust of wind altered their location, and the three of them arrived at an inconspicuous deserted hill, keeping away from the crowd.

"You’ve made great progress in these six years." Immortal Qi Jing wasn’t like Tian Mingtai, he could see Chu Liang’s true strength, "It won’t be long before you can reach Heaven’s Gate."

"A blessing in disguise, I suppose." Chu Liang laughed, "How have you been all these years?"

Jiang Yuebai subtly shook her head, "We’ve travelled across the Four Seas and Nine Continents, but we’re still unable to find any news about the Shenxu Picture Scroll."

Upon hearing this, Immortal Qi Jing’s smile faltered slightly.

"What exactly is the Shenxu Picture Scroll?" Chu Liang asked, "Now that the Red Cotton Peak of Shu Mountain is quite powerful, I could ask them to help."

"This won’t work, the search for the Shenxu Picture Scroll must be kept absolutely confidential and not publicized." Immortal Qi Jing replied, "If we start a large-scale search and the people of Shenxu Temple get word of it, knowing that someone is trying to find their whereabouts, they will definitely act and clean up."

Recalling it, even as a Tianyuan cultivator, he still felt a lingering fear.

He remembered how the Jiang Family, one of the Three Great Ancient Families, a renowned ancient family, disappeared overnight. He understood the horror of the Shenxu Temple better than anyone.

"I see." Chu Liang dismissed the idea.

"But if you personally get any information, you could help us keep an eye out." Immortal Qi Jing threw a jade box to Chu Liang, who opened it to take a look.

It contained a dark gold scroll, the material of which was unknown. It just felt like it had restrained spirituality. On it was drawn obscure and strange patterns, the two edges were torn, it looked like it was just a quarter.

"This item..." Chu Liang, studying it, suddenly found it somewhat familiar.

"This item is the key to finding my mother, and it’s the only way in the world to find Shenxu Temple." Jiang Yuebai sighed and said, "People think this map is the Immortal Treasure Map, so those who possess it always hide in the dark. We’ve been searching hard for six years, but still it’s hard to make any headway, finding even one is like reaching the sky."

"Uh... what I mean is..." Chu Liang pulled out something from his bosom, slowly saying, "This thing... isn’t it the same as the two I have here?"
