Chapter 645: Chapter 8: Remember to Sail [Ask for Monthly Ticket!]_1
In a fairly expansive cave, everywhere was piled high with golden trinkets and sparkling jewelry, with gold and silver nearly forming mountains. Amidst this mountain of treasures, a smooth jade platform was built, resembling a jade bed.
At this moment, there was a woman lying sideway on this jade bed. Her body was like a small mound of flesh, her round head closely pressed against her fat body, with her neck completely gone. She was left with two round masses stacked on top of one another, looking like a sizable snowman.
She was extravagantly dressed, her whole body adorned with golden and silver jewelry. Lying there with a satisfied look on her face, she sneered, "You may take your leave, after all, this is your home. You can run away, but you can’t escape from the home. Let’s see where you could go."
The person with whom she was conversing was a man standing at the mouth of the cave.
He had the appearance of a teenager. He had golden hair and blue eyes, coupled with fair skin and a handsome face. However, half of his body was human skin and half was covered in densely packed deep purple scales. He was the descendant of a dragon but hadn’t completely transformed into a human form yet, as his cultivation was not advanced enough.
The dragon descendant teenager now had an aggrieved look on his face. "I only wanted to rob you of a jade pendant, please give it back. I’ve already promised to reimburse you ten times, could you please leave?"
"Ask me to leave?" The woman opened her eyes wide, "Not a chance."
"What exactly do you want?" The dragon descendant teenager asked angrily.
"Since I was brought here by you, I will accept my fate, as the term goes, ’follow the customs of one’s husband.’" She glanced at the teenager, "Though you are dragonkin, it’s not too humiliating to my status as a princess, so I can reluctantly marry you... "
"Don’t daydream!" said the dragonkin teenager, stomping his feet in anger.
Just then, he suddenly felt a strange presence intruding into his territory. The dragon mutant teenager swiftly turned around: "Who is it?!"
They saw Chu Liang standing at the entrance of the cave, a smirk on his face. "Excuse me for intruding."
"You’re human?" The dragonkin teenager questioned Chu Liang.
"Correct. I am a disciple of Shu Mountain." Chu Liang replied, "I am here on behalf of the king of Gao Yue Country to rescue the Princess who was abducted by a demon dragon."
"Rescue her?" The dragonkin teenager raised his eyebrow, his face at once showing irritation, "You are here to rescue me, right?"
Chu Liang looked at his current state, then at the woman on the jade bed lording it over, and asked, "What exactly is going on here?"
"Huh." The woman hopped off the bed with a thud, and then said, "This demon dragon brought me here. Isn’t this news already spread throughout the entire city? In time, I fear neighboring countries will know about it too. Where is my innocence as a maiden? How am I to get married in future?"
Upon saying that, she crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at the dragonkin teenager, "That’s why, I must marry him no matter what."
"How would you get married?" The dragonkin teenager piped up, "Is this something that only started bothering you today?"
He then turned and tugged at Chu Liang’s sleeve, complaining, "I admit I was a bit greedy. I saw her jade pendant and thought it was attractive, so I wanted to snatch it. But I did not expect her to cling onto me and refuse to leave. Now I’m willing to compensate tenfold, but she is still not willing to go. She insists on marrying me. Is this bullying a dragon or not?"
"Heh heh." Chu Liang laughed.
It was indeed a situation he had not anticipated.
Just as he was choosing his words, the Princess of Gao Yue Country had already spoken: "Warrior from Shu Mountain, since my father has commissioned you to come, I would like to trouble you to return and tell him that I ran away from the palace in search of true love, and now I have found it! He does not need to worry, after some time, I will bring my beloved back to see him."
The dragonkin teenager held tightly onto Chu Liang’s sleeves. "You can’t leave! You must rescue her back no matter what. I have never dared to harm anyone since I was young, afraid to cause trouble. You humans can’t harm me too!"
"Hmpf." The Princess snorted, "Anyway, you dragonkin have such long lives, just accompany me for a few decades. Once I die you can leave."
"Hear that, is that something a person would say?" said the dragonkin teenager, "Is the youth of a demon not considered youth?"
"..."
"Stop, stop, stop!" Chu Liang raised his hand high, interrupting the two.
He first pulled the dragonkin teenager aside and whispered, "Here’s the deal, you do me a favor and I’ll take her away."
"Yes!" The dragonkin teenager heavily nodded his head, "As long as it doesn’t involve killing, anything is fine. I just want to live a peaceful life, I dare not cause trouble."
"Rest assured, I won’t put you in danger," said Chu Liang, "Besides me, there should be others coming for her, so your place is not safe. Later on, just take a few of her personal belongings and escape to a place."
"Where should I escape to?" asked the dragonkin teenager.
"The southeast coast," Chu Liang replied.
The dragonkin teenager: "?"
After a moment of hesitation, he asked uncertainly, "I’ve never even left the desert since I was born, and now I have to traverse the expanse of the Nine States?"
"Then you must go and see the sea," Chu Liang firmly held his hands, "At the edge of the Eastern Sea, there are three islands with Mirage Mountain on it. Once you arrive there, throw the things into the sea, and then you can return."
Once they finalized the deal, he went over to the Princess of Gao Yue Country.
The Princess looked at him warily and said, "Let me tell you, you can’t separate the two of us!"
"Princess, you should stop," Chu Liang lowered his voice, "Killing should stop when it’s enough, you’re really going too far."
"I don’t care!" The princess stomped her foot heavily, causing the mountain to tremble, "I want to get married, I want true love!"
"True love is not like this, you two aren’t even of the same species," Chu Liang continued persuading.
"But Xu Xian and Miss Bai weren’t either!" The princess protested, "True love must overcome all difficulties."
"Eh?" Chu Liang blinked, "You’ve also watched the Legend of the White Snake?"
"It’s called Berry Legend, don’t you understand?" The princess disdainfully threw a glance at him.
Chu Liang nodded repeatedly, "Ah yes, yes, yes."
Having said that, he lightly pointed out a standalone sentence, which was accompanied by a swift crackling sound as a flash of electricity shot out, and the princess collapsed onto the ground with a thud.
Since persuasion had failed, he resorted to the most expedient methods.
Chu Liang took all the gold and silver jewelry from the princess and gave them to the dragonkin teenager, reminding him, "Remember, you must go to the Eastern Sea."
He then turned around and cast the Divine Dragon Fire.
"What are you going to do?" The young dragonkin became alarmed. "You can’t kill her, if she dies, I’ll get in trouble."
Chu Liang couldn’t help but laugh; the demon beast sure was an honest creature.
Despite being bullied to such an extent, it still couldn’t bear to hurt a human at all.
He shook his head and said, "I’m just cleansing her of her aura, I won’t hurt her."
The Divine Dragon Fire Ring circled the princess without singeing a single hair, showing Chu Liang’s exceptional control over it. He merely burned off the surrounding aura and then covered her with the Concealment Robe, so no aura leaked out.
...
He left with the princess and the young dragonkin also left as promised.
Chu Liang then didn’t hurry to return her to the capital, but hid nearby keeping an eye on the sand cave.
As expected, after a while, the young man named Han Lu landed there, followed closely by a group from Taotie City. Han Lu searched the cave and then said to the group, "They just left."
After saying this, the group immediately set off toward the east.
From above in the main hall, Chu Liang had noted Han Lu’s unique cultivation technique, which was likely used to track them.
Once the group had gone far away, Chu Liang returned to Gao Yue Country with the princess.
By now the day was fully dawned. Upon his arrival at the main hall, the Monarch soon greeted him.
"Oh my!" He thanked Chu Liang, "I really have to thank you, Warrior Chu. You found my beloved daughter so quickly, I really don’t know how to thank you enough."
"Your Majesty, there’s no need for thanks. As you’re a friend of Shu Mountain, it’s my duty to lend a hand," Chu Liang said with a smile.
"Oh my precious daughter..." The Monarch struggled to pick up the princess. It was obvious how much he treasured her.
As the princess slowly woke up, her first words were, "Where is my husband?"
"Uh?" The Monarch was taken aback by the question.
The princess struggled to sit up, saying, "I’m not going back to the palace! I want to go and find my true love!"
"No, no, sweetie, let’s not leave. Your father will send you to Shu Mountain for your cultivation," said the Monarch. "There are plenty of talented young men there, and we’ll find one that suits your taste. Isn’t it much better to find someone matching our status among Shu Mountain’s Four Tyrants?"
Using a combination of coaxing and deception, the Monarch finally managed to placate the princess. She pondered and said, "I don’t desire any of the Four Tyrants, I just want someone decent..."
With that, she looked at Chu Liang and said, "I think he’s not bad."
"Uh..." Chu Liang quickly bowed, "Then I won’t disturb the reunion of His Majesty and the Princess any longer. Farewell."
"Hey--" The Princess got up to chase after him.
Just then, a thunderous roar erupted, and the sea of clouds in the sky churned angrily.
"The Flying Boat of Shu Mountain has arrived!" A palace attendant shouted.
Chu Liang had just stepped out of the main hall onto the long stairs. He looked up and saw the scene unfold.
It was a broad red Flying Boat which seemed more like a huge suspended palace with pavilions, buildings, and flying swords coming and going.
The shadow of the boat almost covered half the capital.
On the bow of the boat, there were two young figures standing side by side.
The one on the left was in white clothes, lean in build, with a White Jade Bone Fan in his hand, which had delicate landscape paintings on it. He held his left hand behind him, revealing a jade belt, which was a top-grade magical storage tool. His hair fluttered slightly, and he wore a small smile.
The one on the right was slightly shorter and a bit plumper. He wore a black cloak woven from the feathers of a Mystic Bird and a jade crown with top-grade symbols. He was dressed in a cloud-patterned silk shirt with wind-conquering footwear.
The two of them weren’t particularly good-looking, but standing at such a height, looking down at the Mortal Realm, they exuded the air of whopping wealth, making anyone who saw them dazzled at first glance.
"Ah..." The princess, who had come to chase after him, suddenly sighed, "How imposing..."
It wasn’t just her; the whole capital was exclaiming in astonishment.
"That must be the White Jade Fan and Mountain Tiger, right?"
"They must be so rich..."
"This Flying Boat could probably buy our entire capital, right?"
"Oh my God, are these two my unseen fiancés?"
"Nonsense, they’re my daddies!"
"We’ll each take one dad, no grabbing!"
"..."
Listening to the surrounding discussions, Chu Liang was also quite shocked.
No wonder everyone spoke with such respect when they mentioned Shu Mountain, the scale of Red Cotton Peak had grown to this extent. When he first started out, he didn’t make such a grand entrance when he left.
Moreover, he sensed that social morals seemed to be deteriorating. When he was the richest man on Shu Mountain, he hadn’t encountered so many who rushed to call him "Daddy."
Of course, what surprised him most was not the rise of Shu Mountain or the decline of social morals, but... he recognized these two men.
The two figures on the Flying Boat, unimaginably imposing.
White Jade Fan, Mountain Tiger...?
If they weren’t Henchman A and Henchman B, then who could they be?!
