Chapter 577: Chapter 50 Alliance 【Ask for Monthly Tickets!】_1
The Sixth Princess had been angsty for some time, a fact well known among her siblings. Since her entry into the Void Realm, she had been trying to kill anyone who crossed her path. The other princes dared not interfere whenever she encountered an enemy. But, apart from the first day, enemies weren’t that easy to find, so she had limited opportunities to indulge in violence.
Finally, on the fourth day, factions that had initially prioritized stability began to act, providing the Sixth Princess with the chance she needed. She promptly obliterated an entire team singlehandedly, relishing in the thrill of the slaughter.
Ahead he saw two groups engaging in battle.
This kind of situation was everyone’s favorite in the Void Realm. Combatants usually had little awareness of their surroundings, making them prime targets for a third party to swoop in and double-kill.
So, the Imperial Family Army joined in.
Observing from a distance, the Thirteenth Prince whispered, "That’s Chu Liang over there, isn’t it? It looks like he’s injured. One team is trying to kill him, and another is protecting him."
"We can’t let this opportunity slip by." The Sixth Princess raised her hand, "We must lend a hand!"
"Who should we help?" A princeling from their group inquired, only to receive a stern glance from the Thirteenth Prince.
The sharp-witted prince then handed a bow to the Sixth Princess.
The Sixth Princess, clad in flame-red armor and wielding a Flaming Xuantie Sword, held the bow in her left hand and an arrow in her right. When she shot the arrow, it soared through the air like a full moon.
Whoosh—Bang—
As the arrow left the bow, it ignited with divine violet-golden fire. Its ferocity mimicked that of wind and thunderstorms as it sped directly toward Chu Liang!
"Ambush!"
The attack was so brutal and sudden that it didn’t really qualify as an ambush, as its approach could be heard hundreds of yards away.
Monk Pu Shan, who had been guarding Chu Liang, immediately rose to his feet. A massive golden figure appeared behind him, aiming to grab the fiery arrow with a giant palm.
Hiss, hiss, hiss—bang—
The arrow effortlessly pierced through the giant palm without losing any speed, appearing right in front of Pu Shan a moment later.
With Samadhi Divine Fire as its tip, the arrow was virtually unstoppable. In desperation, Pu Shan moved another hand of the giant figure, severing a cliff wall, and a massive boulder fell down.
Bang—
The fiery arrow pulverized the boulder in one hit and then hit the chest of the giant figure, finally coming to a halt.
"What an incredible arrow. Who shot this?" Monk Pu Shan lifted his eyes to see who the enemy was.
Under the leadership of the Sixth Princess, the Imperial Family Army roared, "Kill Chu Liang! Seize the Soul Crystal!" and charged forward.
Sanjue Valley, already at an upper hand, was suddenly attacked by an additional party to which the Imperial Family Army was clearly superior.
The factor setting them apart was the Sixth Princess.
Chances are the Thirteenth Prince was on par with Guo Zhanfeng and Guo Zhanlei, average geniuses from the Immortal Sect. But the Sixth Princess, enhanced by the Flaming Xuantie Sword and flame-red armor, was on par with top-tier geniuses.
The sight of a fire-clad figure charging in, wielding a longsword that birthed a dragon of flames over ten yards long, was enough to deter anyone from standing in her way. One of the disciples from Sanjue Valley blocked her fiery sword with a black cloak, only to be caught off guard as a burst of violet-gold fire from within the sword not only incinerated his magic artifact but also consumed his physical body.
In a matchup of this level, the Samadhi Divine Fire delivered a dimension reduction attack.
Having beheaded one, the other two disciples of Sanjue Valley rushed to Luo Yao’s side, urging in a low voice, "Chief, let’s leave first, we can’t protec him."
With a furrowed brow, Luo Yao responded quickly, "You take the Soul Crystal and go ahead, I will go with them."
"Chief..." A disciple attempted to convince her otherwise.
But the Sixth Princess didn’t afford them time for hesitation.
While her deployment of the Samadhi Divine Fire wasn’t as effortless as Empress Feng’s, when it attached to a weapon for clearing a path, it was still invincible.
The members of the Night Blade Sect were panicked at the sight of such powerful reinforcements, uncertain if they would be the next target after the initial opponents were dealt with.
Then they heard the Sixth Princess command, "Fight together, split the Soul Crystal evenly!"
Upon hearing these words, the Night Blade Sect’s members didn’t hesitate and immediately counterattacked.
Sanjue Valley retreated repeatedly while Monk Pu Shan picked up Chu Liang and ran off. Luo Yao and the other two remaining disciples from her Sect hastily retreated as well, occasionally turning around to provide cover.
The pursuit went back and forth, covering a considerable distance in no time.
It was at this moment that a hulking, brawny man wielding a halberd sprung from the front, shouting, "This is my route! This is my tree! If you want to pass, leave your life here!"
Monk Pu Shan was momentarily confused by his statement and unsure if he was allowed to pass.
Then he heard Chu Liang yell from behind him, "Brother Yun!"
"Brother Chu?" Yun Chaoxian squinted and saw Chu Liang poking his head out from behind Monk Pu Shan.
"What happened to you?" Yun Chaoxian asked, surprised.
"There’s a long story behind that, we can talk about it later," said Chu Liang. "We have pursuers behind us, and need help. Are your sect mates around?"
"They’re here!" Yun Chaoxian whistled, summoning Ren Hongdao, Li Fujian, and Tang Shi from the sky.
"Brother Yun has been luring people here for days. After all this effort, he finally caught Chu Liang?" Li Fujian asked with disbelief.
"There are plenty of Soul Crystals, everyone follow us!" Monk Pu Shan shouted, leading the Heavenly Gang Sect’s disciples back into the fray.
Luo Yao, leading several of Sanjue Valley’s people, brought up the rear. They were currently held up, and the situation was dangerous.
Suddenly, several powerful men descended from the sky, causing turmoil within the Night Blade Sect and Imperial Family Army.
The four core disciples of the Heavenly Gang Sect were natural born prodigies. They launched a fierce attack, unstoppable in their force.
If the knives of the Night Blade Sect were akin to knives, then Ren Hongdao’s knife was a blade—distinctively superior.
Swinging his long knife, he unleashed a red tornado that brought the Night Blade Sect’s four men to their knees, driving them backward tens of yards.
Li Fujian, wielding the Flaming Xuantie Sword, held back the Sixth Princess. His broad sword, forged of xuantie iron, was excellent for defense. Despite the unmatched destructive power of Samadhi Divine Fire, his heavy blade was thick enough, and his martial arts superb, to parry the assault with plenty to spare.
Tang Shi wielded his large speart, holding back the remaining members of the Imperial Family. Among them, there was no equal to him. His spear moved like a dragon, throwing back whatever it hit.
As expected of Yun Chaoxian, both wise and courageous, he maneuvered on the sidelines, watching for signs of weakness in the enemy. Whenever he saw an opportunity, he would swoop in and squeeze it to death—it was he who first managed to seize a soul crystal.
Boom boom boom boom boom——
Though the three powerful men and one powerful woman of the Heavenly Gang Sect were all Martial Arts Cultivators, their attacks resounded like thunder, instantly shifting the tide of battle.
The Night Blade Sect and the Imperial Family Army, who were originally pursuing others, were utterly confused and hastily turned and ran.
Both the Heavenly Gang Sect and Sanjue Valley continued the chase, claiming two Soul Crystals one after the other. Monk Pu Shan, following behind, loudly cheered them on, boosting their morale.
Watching the Heavenly Gang Sect, as ferocious as hunting dogs in pursuit of rabbits, Chu Liang couldn’t help but sigh—it was always the Sect brothers who stood out.
This chase lasted half a day, ending only when dusk began to fall. Then, everyone gathered and counted their spoils.
They had collected four soul crystals, two from the Night Blade Sect and two from the Imperial family. The weaker members of both parties, delayed in their flight, were all slain by the Heavenly Gang Sect.
Yun Chaoxian held the Soul Crystals, laughing heartily, "Didn’t I say my plan would work!"
The other three were also laughing and cheering as if it were a festival.
"We were saved by your plan this time. Otherwise, we might have been lost," Chu Liang gratefully acknowledged. Then he asked, "But why celebrate so much over just four Soul Crystals?"
"Just four?" Tang Shi looked at him quizzically, "Soul Crystals aren’t easily obtained—we’ve actually doubled our gains!"
"Huh?" Chu Liang and the others were surprised.
Was the Heavenly Gang Sect, known for their martial prowess, only able to secure four Soul Crystals these past few days?
When they asked the reason, it turned out that Yun Chaoxian, acting as the team’s tactician, had played a significant role. On the first day, he chose this open plain location, thinking it would be the best spot to kill enemies.
But the problem was that everyone knew the open plain provided nowhere to hide, so virtually no one considered coming here. They searched for more than half the day before locating another ill-fated group who had also arrived here.
Thereafter, their efforts yielded no fruits for another day until Yun Chaoxian came up with another strategy.
His theory was that their combined strength might intimidate others into fleeing at the sight of them; so, they should hide to eliminate that problem. He would then act as bait, drawing enemies to attack him while the others prepared to strike back.
He spent three days acting as bait in this barren plain until Chu Liang appeared.
Hearing their story, Chu Liang couldn’t help but worry for their safety. If they were eliminated with this strategy, wouldn’t Yun Chaoxian be ousted from the sect once they returned?
That’s when Ren Hongdao sighed, "Thanks to Junior Brother Yun’s strategy, we’ve collected eight Soul Crystals. If we manage to be promoted this time, you will be the greatest contributor."
"Hehe," Yun Chaoxian modestly smiled, "Senior Brother, you shouldn’t praise me like that. I only made a small contribution."
Chu Liang: "..."
After reflecting a moment, he sighed and said: "Pu Shan, bring out the Soul Crystals we got from Yanbo City. Let’s share them among our three Sects."
Monk Pu Shan complied, revealing more than a hundred Soul Crystals.
The eyes of the four from the Heavenly Gang Sect went wide.
Could Soul Crystals be acquired this easily?
There were previously four forces within Yanbo City, including Penglai. Thus, the Soul Crystals required for them to advance should have been one hundred and sixty.
They didn’t know whether they hadn’t collected enough or if Xi Miaoxian held some back, but they only found less than a hundred and twenty.
This meant that to ensure advancement, they would only have enough for three Sects.
Chu Liang said, "You divide them up. Don’t worry about leaving any for me."
"How can we do that?" Monk Pu Shan argued. "Out of all of us, Shu Mountain is in the most precarious situation. We must help you advance no matter what. Our Yunque Temple really doesn’t mind. We will yield our share to you."
"No need," Chu Liang waved it off with a smile. "It’s just some Soul Crystals—I’ll find more."
Luo Yao looked at him skeptically, her eyes seemed to say "don’t be stubborn if you can’t."
"Even if I can’t take action for now, you all can," Chu Liang quickly retorted. "The reason I suggested you split them first is because... I think we should form an alliance in the upcoming days!"
