Chapter 501: Chapter 79: Yang Shenlong [Thanks to the Alliance Hierarch "Ye Tingfeng" for the reward]_1

There were no stars in the sky, and the moon was hidden.

Atop a desolate hill in the Southern Region stood a decrepit building, full of the marks of time. On this moonless, windy night, the mountain breeze carried the faint sound of a mournful wail.

Crunch.

A foot stepped on a broken branch, the crisp sound echoing in the night. A few figures then appeared in front of the building, staring at it for a while before entering.

There were five of them, the most noticeable being a man as sturdy as an iron tower, his thin shirt had failed to conceal the well-defined muscles carved like chiseled stone, and his face was equally resolute.

Leading the way was an old man in a simple attire, his skin wrinkled and his face bearing the marks of time.

He had his hand on the shoulder of a child who looked chubby and adorable, sporting an ash-gray face.

Behind them was a stout and stocky middle-aged man, and a slender, tall young man like a bamboo.

As the five men pushed open the main gate of the building, the messy hall inside was revealed, filled with cobwebs and dust everywhere.

"Is anyone there?" The leading old man called out.

A moment later, a voice came from the depths of the hall, "Who has come to our place?"

A man and a woman walked out from the back of the hall. The man was young, tall, and sinister, exuding an evil aura. The woman was seductive, clinging tightly to the man’s body. Her body was soft, and her eyes were as seductive as silk when she looked at the strangers.

"Hehe, pardon the intrusion," the old man said as the two came out to meet them. "We heard that you accept children here?"

"Yes." The sinister young man glanced at the child, who returned his gaze without fear. The young man’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.

"How much would you give for this eight-year-old child?" The old man nudged the child forward a bit.

The young man examined the child carefully, laughed coldly, and looked up, "Do you say he’s eight?"

"Yes, indeed." The old man also smiled, "We just celebrated his birthday. We simply can’t support him at home. We just fed him a red egg and sent him out here."

"My friend, stop pretending," the sinister young man raised his voice, "We only accept humans, not demons."

"I told you it’s not going to work," said the stocky middle-aged man behind him, "This kind of silly child, even if he really were human, they wouldn’t accept him."

"Shut the fuck up!" the child retorted.

"Mount Tai Slave, attack!" The old man suddenly shouted, reaching out to grab the seductive woman in front of him.

The towering muscular man, who had moved even before the man had shouted, reached out with a hand as big as a net, trying to catch the sinister young man.

"Dare to make trouble here?" The sinister young man rolled over, his body swiftly retreated several feet.

Looking down at him again, his lower body had turned into a thick python tail covered with black scales. The python extended upward and split into two, forming the upper bodies of the man and the woman.

It turned out that these two were actually one!

"Roar——"

With a twist of their bodies, the man and the woman revealed their true forms, transforming into a giant two-headed black python. They opened their mouths and spat out a cloud of bloody mist, which was imbued with a deadly poison that could melt flesh and blood.

But the five of them showed no fear and surrounded them.

The muscular man named "Mount Tai Slave" grabbed the python tail and swung it around with a shout.

The stocky middle-aged man and the slender young man each rushed forward and latched onto a python head, pinning the two-headed python in mid-air.

The old man drew a sword that seemed to have been made out of stone from his hand. The broad, edgeless blade was comparable to a divine weapon. With a swoosh, the giant two-headed python was cut into two halves!

"Ah——" Both python heads screamed in unison, "Being of the same demonic clan as us, why kill us so ruthlessly!"

Before their words fell, they had already been split into two snakes, and it was clear that they wouldn’t survive.

...

Thud, Thud——

The two halves of the body fell to the ground. The five people dusted off their hands, ridding them of blood and dirt. They advanced towards the back of the hall, where they found a deep cavern.

As usual, the old man took the lead, exploring the pitch-black cave. The cave walls were slimy and moist, clearly formed by the activity of the python. After a while, they reached the end.

As the old man looked down, he saw a small candle in the cave illuminating about a dozen sleeping children.

"There are about ten families missing children lately. They should all be here," the old man scanned the children and commented.

"Luckily, they are all safe," the towering man with a deep and muffled voice said.

Just as they were about to approach and wake the children, the old man suddenly shouted, "Be careful!"

As he warned, one of the children in red suddenly opened his eyes, revealing vertical pupils and a fierce light!

Whoosh——

He opened his mouth and spat out a bizarre flame, knocking down the slender and tall young man. His body twisted and instantly turned into a striking fire snake with lateral wings!

"Protect the children!" The elder called out again.

In an instant, the Fire Snake became ferocious, its wide-open mouth unleashing raging flames, engulfing the small cave in a torrent of rolling heat!

Fortunately, all five of them acted simultaneously, creating a thick wall of rock that shot up from the ground, shielding the children from any stray sparks.

The snake demon was powerful, and its flames were exceptionally strong. Even a small spark could instantly engulf and annihilate any human being in its path!

The Fire Snake spat out its violent flames and, without lingering for a fight, twisted its body, bolting upwards with a deafening rumble, creating a large hole. Its speed was astonishingly fast! In the blink of an eye, it disappeared into the cave.

Due to protecting the children, the five individuals had no time to strike at it. By the time they thought to pursue it, it was already too late.

Whoosh—

Just when the Fire Snake broke through the encirclement, intending to escape into the distance, a white figure suddenly appeared in its path.

It was a tall young man in white clothes, standing upright against the wind. His eyebrows were shaped like swords, and his eyes shone brightly, his gaze indifferent yet sharp.

In the moonless night, he shone like a full moon!

The snake demon palpitated upon seeing this figure, as if it could sense impending doom. However, it wouldn’t wait for death without a fight and once again spat out a cluster of unearthly raging flames!

Bang—

These flames were even more powerful than those it had used in the cave!

However, the young man casually raised his hand, his five fingers spread out, lightly pressing down.

Under his palm, the blinding fireball instantly transformed into a small spark, dissipating in the wind. And, in coordination with the fall of his palm, the Fire Snake began to shrink until it was the size of a common earthworm. It squirmed around on his palm, but an invisible barrier kept it from escaping.

"Young Master." The people from the cave caught up, and the elder complimented, "It was fortunate that you swung into action."

"Are the children alright?" The young man asked first.

"They’re all fine." The elder replied, "They should all be here. We can question this snake demon once we return."

"Who exactly are you people!" The snake demon, now held in the young man’s hand, squirmed around in anger and shouted, "You are all powerful demons, why would you willingly serve these humans?"

"Hehe," chuckled the elder, "You are probably unaware of our Young Master’s identity."

"His identity? Is it worth betraying your own kind for?" The snake demon roared in anger.

The young man cast a glance at it, closing his fingers around it, but not before saying, "My name is Yang Shenlong."

...

"Yang Shenlong has emerged from seclusion and destroyed a base belonging to the Demonic Clan in the Southern Region, rescuing a dozen kidnapped children on just his third day!"

"He’s so amazing! Handsome, with outstanding cultivation, upholding justice... he’s just like the hero I’ve always dreamed of being with..."

"His cultivation has always been unmatched among his peers, but after emerging from seclusion, he seems to have made another breakthrough. It seems like there’s no one who can really compete with him currently."

"And not just him, even the Mount Tai Slaves serving him aren’t people any ordinary genius cultivators can deal with. But he alone managed to subdue those five Giant Demons and is now making them work for him willingly."

"It looks like the Immortal Sect Meeting this year is bound to be dominated by Penglai."

"Definitely. Penglai had won first place three consecutive terms before, but fell to the third place in the last term. They must be eager to reclaim their first place this term. Plus, they have a once-in-a-lifetime prodigy like Yang Shenlong. They’ve already practically won. Few can compete with them."

"The majority of the Heavenly King Sect, the former strong competitor, seems rather ordinary this year, except for Feng Chaoyang. Leaving aside the mysterious younger generation of the Endless Sword Sect, which remains unknown to all, it seems like there’s really no one who can compete with Yang Shenlong."

"Actually... I think Shu Mountain isn’t too bad either."

"Don’t be ridiculous, Shu Mountain just wants to stay within the top ten this year."

"But Red Cotton Peak is having a sale and everything I bought there was cost-effective and really good."

"Indeed, then I also support Shu Mountain."

"..."

With the new edition of the "Seven Star Mansion Report" released, Yang Shenlong’s name reappeared in the public eye. He had been in seclusion for almost an entire year prior, and although the Immortal Cultivation World still viewed him as the strongest among the young generation, there had rarely been any news about him.

But upon emerging recently, he immediately destroyed a demon base. Additionally, it was said that this base was affiliated with the Demonic Clan in the Far West Land, and he was still pursuing the matter.

This news immediately occupied the headlines of "Strategy of Nine States", showcasing Yang Shenlong’s heavyweight stature.

Actually, no matter how one looked at it, this event couldn’t compare with Chu Liang’s disruption of the Mars conspiracy in Yu Capital City. However, that event involved negligence on the Imperial Court’s part. The presentation of prisoners at the ceremony was originally intended to uplift the people’s spirits, but spreading such a huge mess would backfire, leading to chaotic incidents that would leave the people of the Nine States in a state of shock. Likely, that was also one of the objectives of Mars.

Therefore, after deliberation from all parties, this news was not published in the Seven Star Mansion Report.

Only a small portion of the citizens in Yu City and the "Skillful Benevolent Whip" banner in Chu Liang’s house still remembered how dangerous the events of that day were.

As for Chu Liang, he didn’t care much about such empty praise. What concerned him more was another piece of news.

"Princess Jingyang’s Proposal Rejected Again, Shu Mountain Disciple Conferred Royal Younger Brother."
