Chapter 413: Chapter 93 Heavenly Official [Seeking Monthly Tickets!]_1

As Empress Feng was pounding on the Red Door God, everyone watched in awe, whilst the Swallowing Python in the sky didn’t remain idle.

It had wanted to flee along with its master, Ji Lingyu, but its size did not allow it to escape unnoticed. Though its head succeeded in following, its tail was still within the bounds of the Giant Whale Mansion.

The colossal creature slithered in the sky darkening the sky and causing the clouds to scale. Below it, the dense population of the Central State were running in horror.

At this moment, a figure appeared before the massive python.

"You’ve got guts, displaying a body of such size near Yu Capital City." a languid voice sounded.

The man who had spoken was dressed in white robes, a jade belt circling his waist, and a golden hairpin twirled into his hair. His face, adorned with a healthy blush, strict, white teeth, and countenance as beautiful as fine jade, reeked of natural grace and elegance.

He floated in the sky, calmly observing the Swallowing Python, appearing like a speck of dust in comparison.

But the following second, the man in white flipped his hand and drew a luminous divine treasure sword, slashing it through the air.

His-

A white light flashed from the front of the Swallowing Python, slicing out a long, black rift in midair, above its head. Wherever it passed, the rift expanded, instantly morphing into a portal-like black hole.

The outspread portal made a magnificent sight, its vastness looming over the sky, filling the onlookers with dread. Yet compared to the Swallowing Python, the massive black hole seemed slightly narrow.

Whoosh——

Due to the Swallowing Python’s immense size, it wasn’t very agile. When the fissure irrupted in front of it, it was too late to change its path, and it bumped straight into it.

It collided against the edge of the black hole and it seemed too narrow for it. But the rift appeared to have somewhat resilience as it expanded just enough to let the Python in. Once the Python’s head was in, the rest could easily follow.

But it did not wish to enter the other end of the rift and immediately tried to retreat.

However, an immense force was tugging its enormous serpent body all of a sudden, causing its body and tail to flay wildly in the air, indicating a struggle. Yet it couldn’t resist the force pulling it from the other end.

Boom!

With a sound resembling thunder, the Swallowing Python was entirely swallowed up. The man in white robes flicked a finger, and the black hole disintegrated into thin air—the sky was clear once again.

In just a short span, the clouds dispersed, and the sky returned to its unperturbed state. Even the clouds that the Swallowing Python scattered when it tore through the sky had dissipated, rendering the sky even more crystal clear and bright blue.

The flustered crowd below only saw the sky brightening up.

It was as if the giant python had never existed.

"It’s gone?" A voice exclaimed in shock, "The demonic creature disappeared?"

"Always ready to panic!" Another person scoffed, "It’s not surprising that the Immortal Masters of the Regent Residence would act when a demonic creature is wreaking havoc near Yu Capital City. I don’t understand why you are all so afraid?"

"Well, if you’re not scared, why did you wet your pants?"

"Didn’t you know that child urine wards off evil? I was planning to repel that demonic creature if it dared to reach the ground."

"Stop being arrogant, go home and change..."

"Huh? There’s no need to go home. Why is there a pair of pants floating down from the sky? Is...this a miracle?"

"..."

After the man in white robes had finished handling the Swallowing Python, he flew straight to the Giant Whale Mansion without returning to Yu Capital City, where Empress Feng was still drilling into the Red Door God, and everyone was watching, stupefied.

Upon his touchdown and sensing something was amiss, instead of joining the public right away, he swept a divine sense across the area and, noticing a familiar face, immediately flew up to the individual.

"Master Dong, could you tell me what’s going on?" The man in white asked.

He was speaking to the person standing on the edge of the crowd, a man of medium stature with a handlebar mustache—Dong Futu, the master of Xu Hongqiu, and the Array Immortal.

"Huh?" Dong Futu turned at the sound of the voice and, seeing the man in white, broke into an amiable smile and said, "Chengfeng? Your timing is impeccable; Empress Feng is beating someone up again."

People nearby caught sight of the hubbub and turned around to look, immediately bowing respectfully, "Heavenly Official Li."

The Regent Residence was ranked in a hierarchy, and people at the base were called "Children of Mastery," heads of small outpost were called "Small Banner Chiefs," heads of large outpost were called, "Banner Chiefs," the person in charge of one City Warden Office was called, "Minor Seal," and the commander of the grand City Warden Offices was called "Master Seal."

The Master Seal was responsible for maintaining an entire state and was directly answerable to the Regent Leader. The hierarchy was orderly and strict, thus ensuring an effective chain of command.

Apart from this system, there was another position called "Heavenly Officer Command," nicknamed "Heavenly Officer." The officers had no subordinates, but they ranked just below the Regent Leader and only answered to the Regent Leader.

There were four Heavenly Officers serving under the Regent Leader. All of them were indubitably strong individuals.

Li Chengfeng was one of them, known as the White Robe Sword Immortal, and also one of the most handsome men in Yu Capital City. In his younger days, he had gained a significant fan base, attracting countless girls and boys. Fans went as wild over him as they did over the current popular Disciplinary Disciple of the Nanyin Square.

Naturally, he could not compete with the likes of the top cultivators from Immortal Sects like Yang Shenlong and Jiang Yuebai. After all, their primary stage was the Immortal Cultivation World, and the audience they moved among were quite different to the general public in the Nine States Land.

Unfortunately, Li Chengfeng married at a tender age and did not appear often in public. This resulted in a gradual decline in his popularity.

However, he didn’t retreat into seclusion. It was just that, as his cultivation level grew, he began to handle less of trivial matters. Whenever the Regent Leader had a mission, the four Heavenly Officers were the most trusted ones.

Li Chengfeng, being a Sword Cultivator, was rumored to be the next Daoist Master Cosmic in training under the Regent Leader!

Dong Futu was also a member of the Lingxiao Pavilion and roamed Yu Capital City like other cultivators of his League. Naturally, Li Chengfeng and he were close acquaintances.

"Could Master Dong please narrate the events that unfolded here in quick order?" Li Chengfeng asked. He joined the crowd watching Empress Feng beating someone, trying to settle into the scene furiously unfolding.

"It was quite chaotic just now." Array Immortal Dong Futu blinked and commented, "Originally, it was Jiang Shenting’s inauguration ceremony, and everyone was prepared for the feast, and then... and then someone set up some formation that I don’t know about. It was very strong!"

...

When everything settled down, it was Jiang Shenting who threw himself in front of Xu Baishan.

As Jiang Shenting gave him a concerned look, Xu Baishan just gave him a cold glance, "Why did you want to kill Hong Qiu?"

"Gang Leader, the little mistress conspired with the Demonic Mars people to kill me!" Jiang Shenting pointed at Xu Hongqiu.

At this time, Xu Hongqiu, who had just come to her senses, gave Xu Baishan a glance and instantly threw herself into his arms, shouting, "Father! You’re finally back!"

"I’m back." Xu Baishan patted Xu Hongqiu, "No one can hurt my daughter anymore."

"Gang Leader...", "Gang leader!", "..."

The elders of the Thunder Rain Hall promptly gathered around. The once chaotic Whale Guild seemed to have found its backbone with the return of Xu Baishan.

"Everyone, calm down." Xu Baishan nodded lightly to the crowd, then lowered his head and asked his daughter, "What just happened?"

"I’m not sure..." Xu Hongqiu realized that the elders of the Whale Guild were all around, so she immediately tucked away her little girl’s demeanor and straightened her face, "I just wanted to take revenge for you, but... when that person appeared, I became dazed..."

As she recalled the past, she could only remember faint glimpses of it, like fragments of a dream.

There was the Demonic Mars holding her own sword and cutting off Jiang Shenting’s arm... She was attacked by Jiang Shenting with a long spear... A fire dragon surrounded her... A silhouette of a boy standing proudly at the head of the fire dragon...

Ah.

With this thought, she immediately looked to the side.

In the foggy scene just now, she did see Jiang Shenting throwing that spear at her. She wanted to dodge, but her body didn’t respond. It was as if she was just a spectator. Just as the mighty spear was about to pierce her body, it was the fire dragon that suddenly descended and block the strike, saving her life in the nick of time.

Atop the fire dragon was her father, while on the head of the dragon was a young man with a somewhat familiar silhouette.

It was indeed Chu Liang!

Now Chu Liang was on the other side meeting up with his master, and next to him were Empress Feng and a young boy with bare legs.

Everything was chaotic, and she wanted to go and thank him, but she couldn’t get away. She just had to look back at her father again.

Xu Baishan glared at Jiang Shenting: "Are you saying Hong Qiu conspired with Demonic Mars people to harm me?"

"I don’t know what exactly happened, but everyone saw the situation." Jiang Shenting said, blood all over his body, looking quite weak.

"It was the demon who made a move and helped you break the formation!" One of the elders who supported Xu Baishan spoke up.

"He was just taking advantage of the situation to escape. Could it be that Jiang Gang Leader was colluding with Demonic Mars people?" An elder who supported Jiang Shenting also started to speak up.

Once everything calmed down, the Whale Guild gradually returned to its original state.

Before Xu Baishan disappeared, there were two factions fighting openly and secretly, and now that familiar feeling was coming back.

"I will thoroughly investigate this matter." Xu Baishan said, "Whoever tried to harm me, whoever colluded with Demonic Mars people, I won’t let them off easily!"

"If you guys are going to investigate, won’t you just try to frame anyone?" Someone said, "Jiang Gang Leader has already taken office, so he should now preside over the Whale Group."

"Don’t forget, it was because Xu Gang Leader was absent that we let him take over." Another person retorted.

"Everyone, stop arguing. Regardless of who is at fault at the moment, I agreed at the time of taking office, as long as Xu Gang Leader comes back, I will return the position." Jiang Shenting advised, "If you keep going on like this, the Whale Guild will fall apart!"

His words reminded everyone.

Someone immediately chimed in: "That’s right! Instead of being assassinated and being wronged, it would be better for the East Whale Guild to break away now!"

"Indeed, who knows if it’s a big game played by their father and daughter, pretending to disappear first and then pretending to take revenge and assassinate. It’s too coincidental that they fail to kill and immediately come out to save people."

Several of Jiang Shenting’s confidants echoed in agreement.

On the other hand, Xu Baishan had an equally large number of confidants. They immediately refuted with sound reasoning: "Quit spewing nonsense!"

...

Both sides were on the verge of a brawl, and if it wasn’t for Xu Baishan and Jiang Shenting’s suppression, they were nearly ready to go to war.

In the midst of chaos, a voice suddenly rang out, "Everyone, there’s no need to argue anymore. This matter should be thoroughly investigated by our Regent Residence."

All eyes followed the sound to see Li Chengfeng stepping into the crowd.

"Initially, it was not appropriate for us to interfere in your internal affairs of the Whale Guild. But since this matter involves Demonic Mars people, we can’t help but intervene." Li Chengfeng stated, looking at both Jiang Shenting and Xu Baishan.

"All elders and members of the Whale Guild who are present today are asked not to leave. Our Regent Residence will soon send someone to investigate. We will give an answer as to who colluded with the Demonic Mars people."

Xu Baishan nodded and said, "I will feel at ease if the Regent Residence is investigating this matter."

Jiang Shenting also smiled and said, "I agree."

But Li Chengfeng looked at him, and his eyes suddenly brightened: "Trying to escape?!"
