Chapter 364: Chapter 48 Fish Pulse [Seeking Monthly Tickets!]_1
Liu Xiaoyu stared at the rushing Qin Nan River before her, feeling a bit unfamiliar.
Having stayed in the mountains for so long, it seemed she had nearly forgotten how to swim?
The young girl would never have dreamt that this mission somehow unexpectedly fell upon her.
"You just need to scout for the general location of the Water Mansion. If it’s possible, assess the strength of the water demons within," said Warrior Chu from the side, "Safety is of utmost importance. If anything goes wrong, hurry back."
The first step in rescuing someone from the Water Mansion was to ascertain the location. The water demons had only told Yu Xiang’er to meet at the riverside for a transaction a month later, without revealing their underwater whereabouts.
With its deep flow, the river would block Divine Sense probes. Unable to discern the underwater situation from the riverbank, they had to plunge into the water to explore.
Once submerged, cultivators needed to constantly perform water repelling incantations. Many magical skills would be limited, greatly reducing combat prowess. If they encountered a water demon, they would be helpless.
At this point, Chu Liang thought of Little Yi.
The young girl might seem a bit foolish, but she was a real river fish and had absorbed the spirit of a flying fish. She was swift as wind on land and even faster in water—ordinary water demons could hardly chase her.
Though she might not always be the sharpest tool in the shed, her tremendous luck naturally kept her away from many dangers.
She was the perfect underwater scout.
Liu Xiaoyu hesitated at the riverbank and then turned and jumped in, transforming into a streak of rosy light as she plunged into the water.
Chu Liang and the Immortal Sect prodigies waited on shore, awaiting her news.
Some time had passed.
Chu Liang began to worry. Would the little girl end up in trouble?
Although it was a simple reconnaissance mission, she had not faced much adversity. If she was confronted with danger, would she know to flee? If something terrible happened, was he not the culprit for sending her into danger?
Churning these thoughts in his mind, Chu Liang began to grow restless and decided to go into the water.
Just as he was about to move, two splashes sounded, and two streaks of light shot from the water’s surface.
In the blink of an eye, the light took on human forms. One was Liu Xiaoyu, instantly easing Chu Liang’s worries. The other was a girl looking quite similar to Xiaoyu, but with more profound energy and a somewhat rigid face.
Who could she be?
Then Liu Xiaoyu hopped over and said, "Brother Chu Liang, this is my older sister!"
"Your sister?"
"Yes, she is the leader of the water demons." Liu Xiaoyu continued.
"What?!"
At her words, all the warriors of the Immortal Sect immediately went on guard, each person spreading out, assuming a defensive stance.
Yun Chaoxian glanced at Liu Xiaoyu then at her sister next to her and suddenly exclaimed: "So you are the mole designated by the water demons in Shu Mountain!"
"Brother Yun, hold yourself from presumption for now." Chu Liang quickly interrupted him, "I’ll explain all of it later."
He had known about Liu Xiaoyu’s sister from a while back, but they had once encountered the heartless young marquis of the Marquis Ding Shan Residence. Xiaoyu had almost died at his hands. Later, he and his master even sought Old Man Sikong’s help in finding her sister.
Old Man Sikong claimed that Xiaoyu’s sister had her own fate.
So, it was here?
The leader of the water demons turned out to be a Koi Spirit as well.
"I’m Liu Xiaoyi. Xiaoyu told me that you’ve been kind to her," Liu Xiaoyu’s sister spoke to the group with cold indifference, turning only to Chu Liang, "Follow me."
Watching Chu Liang follow the two fish sisters into water, Yun Chaoxian mumbled, "I thought Brother Chu had extensive connections amongst people, but I didn’t imagine his connections would extend even to fish. Truly remarkable."
Others also nodded in agreement.
...
Throughout the journey under the water, Liu Xiaoyu chattered away, telling Chu Liang many stories about her sister.
It turned out that Liu Xiaoyi was injured by Master Lu that day, which drew some demon beasts as the smell of fresh blood entered the water. She managed to escape but unwittingly ran into an ancient tomb.
Shockingly, it was the legendary Mausoleum of Ba Xia!
Inside, she found a Ba Xia’s spirit, much like the Flying Fish Spirit that Little Yi had merged with. This spirit also contained the physical strength of Ba Xia. However, Ba Xia’s level was much higher than that of the flying fish, he was a dragonkin of the second generation, a dragon child with a very rich bloodline of the true dragon!
She merged with Ba Xia’s spirit, acquired formidable physical strength and her injury healed. But she found that there was a second tier in the mausoleum that she could not open with her current strength, unless she could acquire the legendary Ba Xia’s Double Rings.
When she came out of the Mausoleum of Ba Xia, she travelled across rivers, subdued many water demon and gathered a force in the region.
The reason she stayed in the Qin Nan River was because she was separated from Xiaoyu there. She wanted to continue her search for her sister.
She had searched for days without results, and unexpectedly, Liu Xiaoyu had turned up on her own.
Perhaps it was because she had been hurt, Liu Xiaoyi instinctively held a bit of repulsion towards humans and was not quite friendly.
After hearing Xiaoyu’s story, Chu Liang spoke up, "I personally killed Master Lu and my master killed Marquis Ding Shan, the Young Marquis has been taken to Yu Capital City for his execution. So, Miss Xiaoyu’s revenge should be satisfied."
Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaoyi gave him a deep look, her gaze slightly softened and she turned her head and said, "You are here to rescue that human man, aren’t you?"
"That’s correct, his sister is our friend, so we wanted to come and help." Chu Liang replied.
"Since you’ve been good to Little Yi, and you’ve avenged me, I won’t make things difficult for you." While speaking, the group had reached the bottom of the water, where they could see a greenish main gate of the Water Mansion.
Liu Xiaoyi stepped forward to push open the main gate, and they were greeted by a hoard of shrimp soldiers and crab generals, none looked particularly strong.
Seeing Liu Xiaoyi’s return, they all came up to her, fawning and saying, "King, you’re back!" "King, are you okay?" "King, is this human also a captive?" "..."
Liu Xiaoyi casually waved her hand, ignoring their greetings, and led Chu Liang past the courtyard to the back of the Water Mansion where they saw a man bound to a pole.
He was a lean and handsome man dressed in black. He and Yu Xiang’er bore a striking resemblance to each other, so he must be the real Li Feiyu.
As soon as he saw Liu Xiaoyi, he spoke softly, "Could you let me move around a bit? I can’t beat you. What are you afraid of?"
"Rest assured, we’re letting you go now." Liu Xiaoyi pointed at Chu Liang, "He’s here to rescue you."
"Huh?" Li Feiyu looked up at Chu Liang, a bit surprised.
"We’re here to rescue you on behalf of Miss Yu." Chu Liang said with a smile.
Li Feiyu’s eyes glistened with tears, "Finally, someone has come to rescue me. Brother, I’ve been stuck in this place for so long...I’m all wrinkled."
If it weren’t for the fact that he was a cultivator, anyone else would’ve turned into a prune after staying underwater for so long. Even for a cultivator, this was fairly uncomfortable.
"This time you should thank Warrior Chu. Without him, without Ba Xia’s double rings, I wouldn’t have let you go." Liu Xiaoyi added.
"Speaking of which..." Chu Liang suddenly said, "If Miss Xiaoyu, you just want to use Ba Xia’s double rings to open the second tier of the Mausoleum, then I can lend it to you. You can use it and then return it to the Wuji Mountain Manor."
"Really?" Liu Xiaoyi’s eyes brightened.
Her desire for the treasure was to open the second tier of Ba Xia’s Mausoleum. If she could borrow it and then return it, that would be enough to accomplish her goal.
Chu Liang smiled and said, "If it were somebody else, I definitely wouldn’t be at ease, but you’re Little Yi’s sister. I absolutely trust you."
That’s the way it is in the world, you help me, and I help you.
Isn’t this a bond that’s been forged?
