Chapter 232: Chapter 25: I, a Disciple of Shu Mountain, Uphold Righteousness 【Seeking monthly tickets!】_1
The following day, in the bright morning sunshine,
Chu Liang woke up early to freshen himself and tidy up his abode. Then, he began to sweep the mountain peak, trimming shrubs and plants wherever necessary.
Today, two friends were to be guests at the Silver Sword Peak.
After the discussions in the last Soul Summoning Order meeting, Chu Liang had sent letters to Luo Yao and Monk Pu Shan to arrange this. If any major issues arise, their covert team reunites at Silver Sword Peak on Shu Mountain to deliberate.
The Shu Mountain Sect, as well as the Sanjue Valley, are both located in the Southern Region, a distance not considered too far for cultivators. However, Yunque Temple is in the heavens. Comapred to the isolated and desolate location of Sanjue Valley, Shu Mountain is the more suitable meeting place.
Chu Liang had tidied up for the sake of leaving a good first impression for his partners.
By midday, Luo Yao arrived first.
She was still dressed in black today. Her glossy white hair, exquisite face, and her icy gaze contrasted greatly. Having three umbrellas slung behind her back, she donned a stoic expression, and didn’t talk until Chu Liang greeted her first.
"Miss Luo, you’re here! It’s been a while," Chu Liang waved and greeted.
"Yes." Luo Yao simply nodded in response.
Chu Liang didn’t find her impolite, knowing that she was an aloof girl, as this was not their first encounter.
"How have you been recently?" Chu Liang asked again.
"I am fine," Luo Yao replied.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Chu Liang led her to a table to sit down. He served a plate of Gold Pattern Berries and poured some tea, as per the customs of receiving a guest.
It’s a bit awkward.
Being alone with the tough yet reticent girl put Chu Liang under considerably pressure, and he hoped that Monk Pu Shan would arrive soon. At least, the atmosphere wouldn’t have remained as frosty.
Just as he was thinking about this, he heard a Buddhist chant from outside, "May all be auspicious, it’s my first time at Shu Mountain, what majestic and extraordinary Thirty-Six Peaks!"
Chu Liang hurriedly went to greet him, seeing a bald, smiling face in a white monk’s robe.
"Master Pu Shan, we’ve been waiting for you," Chu Liang also greeted warmly.
"Ah, Warrior Chu, Miss Luo, it’s been a long time, I’ve missed you so much!" Upon seeing the two, Monk Pu Shan’s smile became even more brilliant, revealing a mouthful of unblemished white teeth despite the sun exposure.
He offered a box from his side, "These are gifts from our Yunque Temple, the fruits dedicated to worship Buddha. I brought some for you to taste."
"Haha, you’re too kind. You’re welcome here anytime, there’s no need to bring anything." Chu Liang received it and laughed, "Learn from Miss Luo, it’s best to come empty-handed."
Luo Yao: "Huh?"
After some idle chit-chat, the three gathered and started to discuss important matters.
"After going back last time, I thought that if we want to penetrate deep into the Underworld King Sect, we can’t be without Demon Sect’s Divine Skills. At least, we need some skills that look similar, so it’ll be easier to strike when it’s time to fight." When it came to serious matters, Luo Yao was a bit more talkative.
"Indeed, I had the same thought." Monk Pu Shan nodded in agreement, "Therefore, I deliberately practiced several forbidden skills from Buddhism, barely enough to disguise."
The Yunque Temple also has ancient heritage, naturally having no lack of yin attribute Divine Skill Methods.
"In this respect, I’m not prepared. Though I had thought about it..." Chu Liang frowned, "But our Shu Mountain Cultivation Techniques are too upright. Even if it has Demon Sect Divine Skills, it’s hard to practice. Therefore, if necessary, I can only rely on some small measures and the War Soul we obtained before to cope."
The Cultivation Techniques of each Immortal Sect have different attributes. For example, Luo Yao is from Sanjue Valley, and she doesn’t need to disguise at all, her moves naturally carry the dark style. Monk Pu Shan’s Buddhist Cultivation Techniques can be considered universal.
Only the Nine Heavens Mysterious Heart Technique of Shu Mountain is too within the norms.
"Alas, we disciples of Shu Mountain are just overflowing with righteousness." Chu Liang sighed, "It’s really hard to hide."
"I have a minor Divine Skill here. You should both be able to learn." Luo Yao offered a Jade Slip.
Chu Liang accepted it and found a minor Divine Skills called "Yin Symbol Skill." It uses some yin attribute runes to condense yin energy to strike at enemies. The skills indeed appeared similar to Demon Sect Divine Skills.
Moreover, it goes very well with the Talisman Sword Technique. It’s quite suitable for Chu Liang.
"Miss Luo is so considerate." Chu Liang and Monk Pu Shan quickly thanked her.
This small divine skill is not difficult, he swept it twice with his divine sense and basically remembered it. He was already quite familiar with drawing talismans. Without delay, the three of them left to test its power.
As soon as they came out, Liu Xiaoyu came over, clutching her waist and yawning, "Big Brother Chu Liang, I feel so tired after you helped me open up my meridians last night, and my back is still a bit painful. Can I take the day off from working in the field?"
"Of course, you should have a rest," said Chu Liang.
Liu Xiaoyu might be a demonic creature, but when it comes to physical strength, she’s far behind him. As a result, he felt nothing when he opened up his meridians, but she felt like she was falling apart.
It seems like one night’s rest wasn’t enough for her to fully recover.
He can still water the fields later, anyway.
Yet, when he turned around, he saw Monk Pu Shan and Luo Yao looking at him with odd expressions, as if they were looking at a scumbag.
"She doesn’t look very old, does she..." Monk Pu Shan asked whilst blinking.
"And you even let her do farm work..." Luo Yao said.
"Things aren’t what you think," Chu Liang hurriedly explained. But the matters about the Dragon Blood Secret Method were too sensitive to be revealed, so after he hesitated for a moment, he could only say, "I am helping her in her cultivation!"
Looking at the two of them disbelievingly, Chu Liang declared, "I am a disciple of Shu Mountain with righteousness, why would I deceive a naive girl! You have to believe me!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he heard a shout from the distance, "Chu Liang, my best bro! Save me! Let me hide here!"
Then Lin Bei rushed into Chu Liang’s house in a gust of black wind, followed by a slowly landing Lu Ren.
Chu Liang had seen Lu Ren before; he was a senior brother from Jade Sword Peak.
"What’s going on?" Chu Liang asked, frowning.
"Don’t mention it, this guy deceived a naive girl and got caught!" Lu Ren came over and said irritably, "Yesterday, he took the opportunity to meet a junior sister from Bamboo Sea Peak while leading a Baize away for someone. He didn’t take her money, but proposed to meet her privately at night. Her senior brothers and sisters learned about it and have been capturing him from last night until today. Now they are making a fuss at our Jade Sword Peak, so he ran here to avoid it."
Lu Ren was talking about Lin Bei, but Chu Liang felt the gaze on him grow heavier.
Luo Yao snorted, "Aren’t you Shu Mountain disciples righteous?"
Monk Pu Shan turned back and looked at the house, "Your best bro..."
"Actually we’re not that close..." Chu Liang immediately said with a straight face, "I strongly condemn such behavior! He’s just an outlier, a disgrace to our Shu Mountain! He absolutely cannot represent the overall quality of the disciples of Shu Mountain. I’m not like him, I have a good reputation in Shu Mountain."
As he was talking, a ray of sword light landed from the distant sky.
It turns out that Shang Ziliang had arrived, but he looked very upset as if he was heartbroken, and he was carrying a small bundle on his back.
"What happened to you?" Chu Liang asked.
"Our business was too big in the past few days, and my dad found out." Shang Ziliang said sadly, "He said that all the people on Silver Sword Peak are scumbags, and that I actually made friends with these people. He wants to break off the father-son relationship. Big brother, I’ve left home!"
Chu Liang slapped his head.
What’s happening here...?
Behind him, Luo Yao and Monk Pu Shan’s gaze became even more certain.
Monk Pu Shan: "Full of righteousness, huh?"
Luo Yao: "Good reputation, huh?"
Chu Liang: "..."
