Chapter 150: Chapter 48: You Deceived Me So Badly [Seeking Monthly Tickets!]_1

"What treasure are you looking for here, Guide Envoy?"

"Do you know what secrets this secret realm holds?"

"Why does every creature in this secret realm appear to be asleep?"

"This Dream Abyss..."

On the way up the mountain, Monk Pu Shan kept interrogating the South Route Guide, hoping to discover some secrets about this place from him.

"Shut up!"

At first, the South Route Guide simply ignored him. However, he finally snapped when he realized that the monk was capable of prattling on endlessly even without a response.

"If you don’t want to talk, then don’t. Why are you so angry..." Monk Pu Shan murmured quietly, pouting.

A moment later, he asked, "How seriously are you injured? I know several healing divine skills from Buddhism that are quite useful."

The South Route Guide stood still and spoke loudly, "...I came here to refine a Seventh Realm War Soul that has been sleeping here. It was an accident that I found it, and aside from that, I know nothing. I don’t need you to heal me. All you need to do is shut up. If you say one more word, I’ll rip out this girl’s tongue. Understand?!"

Monk Pu Shan closed his mouth, humming in his nasal voice, "Hmm hmm hmm, hmm hmm hmm hmm..."

Chu Liang, standing by the side, replied, "He said he understood; you won’t harm Miss Luo."

"You don’t need to translate for me!" The South Route Guide roared angrily.

Despite the hardships along the way, they finally arrived at the front of the temple at the top of the mountain. There was a flat white square with a radius of about a hundred feet around a magnificent main hall in the center. From a distance, one could vaguely see a figure sitting in the hall.

When they arrived at this square, both Chu Liang and Monk Pu Shan dared not step forward.

Even without the South Route Guide’s reminder, they could see that the square was lined with hidden killing intent and hidden spiritual brightness; some traps must have surely been arranged.

"There is a Heavenly Five Elements Formation here. Once you break this formation, you can enter the palace." The South Route Guide said with a gloomy tone, "Enjoy yourselves."

Chu Liang glanced back at him, seeing his figure flickering, hiding behind Luo Yao and using the girl to block his body, leaving no chance for a sneak attack.

Luo Yao’s eyes, however, were surprisingly calm, as if she didn’t really care about life or death.

"I’ll do my best." Chu Liang responded, stepping forward with resignation.

Thud.

As he stepped down, it seemed as if a whirlpool formed beneath him, and the elements of the world around him started to whirl and converge into a peculiar entity in an instant.

Boom—

Out of nowhere, a burst of flame appeared and lunged at Chu Liang, giving rise to a ferocious noise.

Dodging the burst of flame just in time, Chu Liang moved to a new location only to trigger a new set of elements – dozens of earth spikes bursting from the ground, almost impaling him!

He had to dodge in mid-air without daring to land; there appeared to be invisible threads in the air triggering the whirlpool to start up again.

Two swishing wind noises!

Chu Liang was forced to dodge hastily after spotting two invisible blades of golden light aiming to cleave him into quarters.

Before he even landed, large drops of water were forming in mid-air, frosting him with a crunching sound. The frost got heavier, and before long, Chu Liang was completely frozen!

Although he managed to shatter the ice using True Qi immediately, it was too late – the earth spikes and the water droplets had already released many tendrils entangling Chu Liang’s feet, flinging him tens of meters away onto the square!

As soon as Chu Liang left the area above the square, everything ceased to exist, as if they had returned to the void. The square returned to its previous state of being a large, flat white field.

Thud—

Chu Liang, covered in dust, stood up and gave a wry smile, "This formation is very powerful."

This formation manipulated the framework of the universe, guarding the central palace from every direction. Chu Liang was only lucky that the formation was designed to expel intruders, not to kill. Otherwise, with his cultivation level, he might not have been able to escape unscathed.

"Hmph." The South Route Guide’s gaze was icy cold, his hand gripping Luo Yao’s throat even tighter. "Stop acting, if you can’t break this formation, I’ll kill this girl right now!"

"This is my current level. If you insist on thinking that I’m a master, I can’t help it," Chu Liang responded honestly.

The South Route Guide’s expression was fierce; he didn’t believe a word Chu Liang said and sneered, "Don’t think playing dumb with me will work. Save it."

In his eyes, Chu Liang was trying to look like a weakling, to lower his alertness, then find a flaw to attack him. How could such tactics possibly deceive his insightful eyes?

Monk Pu Shan stepped forward and said, "Let it be, I’ll give it a try."

As his voice fell, he also stepped into the square. However, his step was not solid but light, as if stepping on invisible lotus petals.

In a blink of an eye, he had stepped tens of feet into the square, much further in than Chu Liang.

Only at this point was the formation triggered.

In an instant, a tidal wave rose in front of him, transforming into a towering ice wall that fully blocked his path. A similar fire wall appeared behind him, with innumerable earth spikes and vines springing up beneath him, and a shower of golden light raining down from the sky, like a flurry of chopping knives!

Perhaps, because he had been too aggressive, diving so much deeper in one go resulted in unprecedentedly strong repercussions!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Amid a series of explosions, Monk Pu Shan hastily summoned his Lustrous Big Bell for protection. He tried to burst out of it, yet his way was blocked from all sides, leaving him with no room to escape. He was clearly trapped!

Seeing this, Chu Liang launched a sword from outside the square, the swordlight, like a dragon, hit the firewall behind him. The bell sheltering Monk Pu Shan then made a frantic charge breaking through the firewall.

But it was not over yet. After he broke out of the formation, just as he left the square, five shock waves from behind rushed towards him!

The bell sheltering Monk Pu Shan was already shaky, and now under the blast, it shattered!

Just as he was about to be exposed to the attack, Chu Liang lifted his hand, took out his Sword Qi, and helped him block it.

Boom!

With their joint effort, they managed to fend off this wave of attack from the formation.

It seems that the Heavenly Five Elements Formation does not have a good temper. Chu Liang just intended to try it out, and it only triggered some of the attacks. Whereas, when Monk Pu Shan plunged in recklessly, it appeared as if the formation wished him dead!

After this round of bombardment, Chu Liang and Monk Pu Shan were both looking pale. They barely escaped it by putting up a hard resistance.

Looking back at the South Route Guide, they saw that his face was gloomy.

"So, you really are . . ."

Chu Liang didn’t take the Concealing Origin Pill this time, so during his first attack, South Route Guide had sensed Chu Liang’s peak Divine Consciousness Realm aura.

Initially, they thought the young man was hiding.

But Chu Liang’s series of actions to rescue Monk Pu Shan in a crisis clearly showed that his actual cultivation was indeed Divine Consciousness Realm... not the Golden Core Realm.

In a sense, they didn’t guess wrong.

His earlier attack that killed the Southwest Guide must have been performed in some special way. It definitely wasn’t his actual cultivation. And they were relying on such an insignificant person to help them break through the Heavenly Five Elements Formation . . . How could that be possible?!

South Route Guide felt a surge of anger rising in his chest. He didn’t know whether it was the frustration of failure to break the formation or the embarrassment of misunderstanding Chu Liang.

Anyway, it made him angry.

If they had not been seriously injured and unable to break the formation themselves but relying on them to make a move, they would have crushed these three spies long time ago!

"So, you turned out to be an insignificant Divine Consciousness Realm..." South Route Guide threw Luo Yao aside and pointed a finger at Chu Liang, "Then, what’s your use to me? Die!"

A stream of black light shot out!

Seeing the South Route Guide attacking him, Chu Liang was well-prepared. The moment he made his move, Chu Liang retaliated by throwing out another sword.

Beheading Red Famous Sword!

This Justice Sword, which had already killed several people from the Demon Cult, was still restless. It might not work against certain formations but it never holds back against evil-doers!

Talisman Sword Technique! Thunder Sign Sword!

Time was pressing, there was no time to use the Three Talisman Sword Technique, Chu Liang directly outlined a thunder character and issued the Flying Sword.

He chose the thunder character mainly for two reasons. One, it was fast! Second, the status of South Route Guide was mysterious at the moment, seemingly real and unreal. Chu Liang feared that other attacks might not work. But Thunder Law was specially designed to resist shady and evil things, which should be able to restrain his Demonic Method!

And indeed, it did.

A golden thunder dragon charged towards South Route Guide at a stunning speed, swallowing up the black light he had shot out midway and hitting him instantly.

South Route Guide didn’t have time to resist at all when the Thunder Dragon engulfed him. He was caught off guard by the sword.

Before his body vanished, he could only express a look of shock.

How could an insignificant creature at the peak of the Divine Consciousness Realm launch such a powerful Sword Qi? He looked as if he was about to die during the formation breaking, but why was he so enthusiastic about fighting me now?

Was his earlier weak performance all an act?

Did he trick me?

It didn’t seem so...

His every move, how could it resemble a strong cultivator pretending to be weak? To act like a pig to eat a tiger, who would act exactly like a real pig?

He’s too good at playing weak!

But faced with this Thunder Sword, no matter how unbelievable, South Route Guide had to admit that he had been deceived by him!

Initially, he was fooled by him pretending to be a Soul Envoy, and then again by him pretending to be in the Divine Consciousness Realm. This whole time, he just kept being deceived by him.

"Ah..." At the end of his life, all he could do was let out a cry filled with resentment:

"You deceived me so badly!"
