Chapter 113: Chapter 11 Do You Not Hurt? [Extra update for Alliance Hierarch "Armored Turtle of the Armor-Donning Door"]_1
Just as the master and disciple boarded the mount, two pairs of eyes quietly followed them from behind.
"So, what do you think?" a towering figure asked.
"These two seem to be..." a skinny figure replied. "The man is in the late stages of Divine Consciousness Realm cultivation, while the woman...hisss...
He gasped, seemingly taken aback by something.
"What? What is it?" the towering figure asked in a hurry.
"She has a large chest," the skinny figure eyed in awe.
The display of True Qi in his eyes gradually dispersed. It seemed as though he had used some Divine Skill enabling him to watch others unnoticed. Otherwise, should he casually gaze upon someone, they could sense his presence.
Slap.
The towering figure gave him a smack on the back of the head. "I told you to observe their moves, not their figures!"
"Ouch!" the skinny figure squeaked, "I couldn’t sense the woman’s Qi, she might be ordinary... possibly a martial artist... or even a powerful Wen Dao Realm expert."
"Nonsense." the towering figure cursed, "Would a Seventh Realm expert ride a Black Tortoise Coin beast of burden? Look how frugal the boy is; can someone with an expert by their side be so stingy?"
"Ah, of course, of course..." the skinny figure dared not rebut.
"We didn’t find many easy targets today, keep a close eye, don’t hesitate when an opportunity arises." the towering figure said menacingly.
"Yes, yes, yes..." the skinny figure nodded vigorously.
Every place where people gathered had its dark corners. In a large city like Taotie City, there would naturally be crime flourishing.
Thieves who especially targeted newcomers to the city were not uncommon. Especially people like these, who as soon as they entered the city, had exchanged a significant amount of Spirit Stone Coins, a prime target for thieves.
The skinny figure stretched his eyes open and cast a spell, then suddenly said, "Boss, they’ve split up?"
"Huh? Then make your move!" The towering figure became eager, "I’m so close to gathering the resources for my next Core Formation. I’m depending on that boy!"
...
Just when Empress Feng’s anger seemed to be at its peak, Chu Liang was having doubts. He wasn’t sure if he should attempt to pacify her or stay away to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
Just then, the mount came to a stop at the station for passenger pick-up.
Chu Liang glanced at the roadside, seeing a Taotie Pavilion, he quickly said, "Master, I’m going to fetch something from the Taotie Pavilion. You proceed first and I will meet you at the First Class Scabbard shortly."
He swiftly hopped off the beast of burden, fearing that Empress Feng might lose her temper the next moment.
After he entered the Taotie Pavilion by the road, the atmosphere was serene and carefully handled. It was not strange to see people hiding their faces. Everyone here was either carrying a hefty sum of money or precious items.
When Chu Liang had his Concealment Gauze robe ready, he would definitely wear that to an occasion like this.
This time, he was here to collect the materials for the Concealment Gauze.
Yes, Wen Yulong had told him to have the seller in Taotie City deliver the materials. But soon after, Chu Liang received news that his master planned to take him to Taotie City.
He quickly went over to tell Wen Yulong that there was no need for delivery, he would collect it himself. That’s because the delivery fee in Taotie City was quite high.
Save where possible.
The seller had already stored the goods in Taotie Pavilion and settled the price. Chu Liang just needed to hand over the correct amount of Spirit Stone Coins, and if the individuals at Taotie Pavilion verified the transaction, they would hand the goods to Chu Liang. Later on, the seller could collect their Spirit Stone Coins.
Depending on the reputation of Taotie Pavilion, the buyer and seller could complete a safe transaction without direct contact, thereby avoiding the potential for disputes.
The process went smoothly.
Chu Liang handed over seven hundred Vermilion Bird Coins to the person at Taotie Pavilion. After a while, someone delivered a box to him. Upon opening the box, he found a large piece of Concealment Gauze, the very item he purchased.
The price of the item was six hundred and fifty Vermilion Bird Coins, the extra fifty coins were the commission for Taotie Pavilion, which was their service charge. It was quite expensive. If it were to be shipped to the Taotie Pavilion on Shu Mountain, it would cost another fifty, which is why Chu Liang chose to collect it himself.
Just as he was about to leave after packing up the Concealment Gauze, the attendant at Taotie Pavilion asked, "For an additional fifty Vermilion Bird Coins, you could get a storage Magic Artifact. Would you like one, Young Hero?"
They really knew...how to anticipate customer needs.
Chu Liang took the recommended storage bracelet for a look. It was rather crude, and the space inside wasn’t much. However, it was sufficient for storing ordinary items.
Buying it at a regular price can cost sixty to seventy coins, which is only a bit more expensive than the additional purchase price...
"I’ll take one." Chu Liang replied.
Though the White Pagoda could also store objects, it could only hold things that were brought out from the White Pagoda itself. Items like the Dark Sea Golden Lotus or the Concealment Gauze were not suitable to be stored there, hence he indeed needed an additional Magical Storage Tool.
After putting on the Magical Storage Bracelet, Chu Liang finally exited the shop. He couldn’t help but think about how difficult it was to the leave the store without being robbed.
...
As he continues to walk forward, an approaching short, thin youth with his head hung low accidentally bumped into his shoulder.
"I’m sorry." The youth quickly apologized in a low voice, and hurriedly went on his way.
Chu Liang’s brow furrowed. He noticed something was amiss. After checking that nothing was missing from his body, he extended his Divine Sense into the Magical Storage Bracelet, only to find that the box which contained the Concealment Gauze had disappeared!
The advantage of a Magical Storage Tool was its convenience and safety. Could someone actually have stolen something from it?
Chu Liang was slightly surprised, and the moment he turned to look at the retreating figure of the youth, he found the boy had just turned into a nearby alleyway.
He had been robbed.
Not too surprised to encounter a thief in such a place, Chu Liang promptly pursued. Even though the youth was fast, with the Retreat Body Technique taught to him by Yun Chaoxian, Chu Liang was even faster and flexible, catching up instantly.
Upon following him into the alleyway and turning another corner, Chu Liang saw the youth standing at the end of the alley.
There were three figures there.
One was a tall, fierce-looking young man with a scar on the left side of his face. The young man, a pinnacle Divine Consciousness Realm cultivator, had a slightly higher cultivation level than Chu Liang.
The second was a short, plump youngster. Although he was round and chubby, he was quite muscular, much like a Martial Artist.
The last was the short, thin youth. His eyes were shifty, and he seemed rather anxious. Judging from his aura, he was at the Early Stage of the Divine Consciousness Realm without much stability.
With a quick glance, Chu Liang was able to assess their cultivation levels. He then broke out a smile.
"Brother, this is the Wind Fire Guild’s territory. What are you doing here?" The tall young man asked in a hostile manner, his arms crossed over his chest.
"It seems he took something of mine, so I am here to take a look," Chu Liang said with a genial expression, as he glanced at the short, thin youth.
"Ha, what are you talking about?" The tall young man sneered. "You’re accusing my brother of stealing your things. Do you have any proof?"
"Well, I could call the Law Enforcement Team over. The item I just purchased can surely be found on him, and there must be a record of it in the Taotie Pavilion," Chu Liang said, turning to leave.
"Stop!" the tall young man bellowed.
The short, thin and plump boys quickly moved to block Chu Liang’s path.
"You better not defy us," the tall youth threatened, his glare turning deadly. "You’re in the Third Realm, and so are the three of us. Let me tell you, we’ve killed quite a few people in Taotie City..."
"Take this!"
Chu Liang suddenly barked, lifting his hand and shooting out a crescent-shaped beam of light towards the tall young man!
In a situation where he was outnumbered, he wanted to seize the opportunity to knock out one of the opponent’s strongest fighters as quickly as possible. The quickest surprise attack he could launch was the Flying Leaf Sharp Knife!
A sneak attack?
The tall young man quickly dodged while his True Qi swiftly formed a protective barrier around his body.
But then...
After a moment, it seemed that nothing had happened.
"Hahaha..." The tall young man, in his anger, began to laugh, "Playing ghost tricks? Was that just meant to scare us?"
Seeing the big brother laughing, the plump boy also began to laugh. "Haha, he probably doesn’t know about big brother’s fierce reputation."
The short, thin boy also started to force out a smile.
Chu Liang turned his head and stared at the plump boy’s face, a look of confusion appearing on his face.
What?
The plump boy was unnerved by his strange gaze and nervously said, "Everyone’s... all laughing. Why are you staring at me?"
"I was just wondering why you’re able to laugh..." Chu Liang stared at him and asked earnestly, "Aren’t you in pain?"
